If they’re going to become a disciple, why not choose a warrior or swordsman? Why would they become a disciple of a Magecraft Artifact Researcher like myself? As I pondered about this, the Imperial Prince spoke up.

Kraus: “What did the Professor say?” Werner: “I cannot share the details, but he asked me to take care of Lotte. ……..excuse me.”

And I burned the letter with a Spell as my Master instructed me.

Werner: “Professor Kay asked me to burn the letter without allowing anyone else to see it.”

Kraus: “I see. I understand that there are some things that only a Master can discuss with his disciple.”

Werner: “My apologies.”

The butler appeared in the Imperial Prince’s office, brought tea and cookies, and then left.

Besides the Imperial Prince and myself, they also made sure to serve Hati as well.

Hati is my servant, but she’s also from the Royal bloodline of the Ancient Dragons.

Even the Imperial Prince cannot overlook such facts.

Hati: “Can Hati eat this?”

Kraus: “Of course, your Highness.”

Hati: “Hati thanks you!”

Hati grabbed the cookies with both hands and began nibbling them.

Hati also says the poor tasting dried ration bread is also delicious.

The Imperial Prince took one sip of his tea.

Kraus: “Sir Werner, I recall that you taught at the Mages Academy, did you not?” Werner: “Yes.”

Kraus: “Now that you have taken the Royal Princess as your disciple, would you not consider returning to the Academy to teach once again?”

Werner: “I was fired from my position. Even if I desired, I would not be able to return.”

Kraus: “Then if the Academy asked you to return, would you consider their offer?” Werner: “......no, actually, I may not. I was originally a Teaching Assistant because my Master, Professor Kay, directed me to do so.”

Kraus: “Now that Professor Kay has left the Academy, you see no reason to return?” Werner: “That is correct.”

Kraus: “I would think it would be more convenient for you if you are able to use a facility furnished with the latest technology…..”

Werner: “......as a Teaching Assistant, I will be tasked to do much administrative work once again.”

Kraus: “Though the facility may have the most advanced technology, the exchange of having to do those menial tasks would far outweigh the benefits?”

Werner: “It is exactly as you say.”

Kraus: “Then you have some reservations towards the Mages Academy, but you are not completely against returning then.”

I do not know why the Imperial Prince is bringing up the Mages Academy so much.

But it is respectful to answer his questions, and I have nothing to hide.

Werner: “To be honest, there are many reservations I have with the Academy. I especially have concerns about the current Academy President and the Head of Magecraft Research……”

Kraus: “I thought as much.”

Werner: “But I have also learned at the Academy since I was a child.”

As soon as I said that, many memories flooded the back of my mind.

I could also feel heat build up behind my eyes.

This was unexpected.

Werner: “.....I have spent more time at the Academy than I have growing up in my family. I also have many fond memories of my Master and friends there. I will not be able to completely abhor the Academy no matter how hard I try.”

Kraus: “Then if you are released from performing administrative tasks and can focus on your research, you would not be against returning to the Academy then.”

Werner: “If that were possible, then……but I am well satisfied with being able to quietly do my research alone.”

Kraus: “My desire is to prepare the most ideal and comfortable environment for your research. That will be for the benefit of the country.”

Werner: “........I appreciate your concerns in this matter.”

And I spoke with the Imperial Prince a little more after that.

He asked me if I can make a few more Barrier Generators for the current Imperial Majesty, so I gave him a few I had on hand and left the room.
