Chapter 60: Finding True Love

The younger student’s face suddenly reddened and he stammered. He dared not look Jiang ChengLi in the eyes. Jiang ChengLi saw that he wasn’t denying it, one hand on the side of his face. That face had always had a cold expression and now a layer slowly fell off.

The younger student’s heart, which was still expectant, sank instantly and he said pitifully, “Did I bring you any trouble?”

Jiang ChengLi had always been known for his restraint and gentleness. The junior thought that this man would be quite decent in refusing to confess his love, but to his surprise, Jiang ChengLi replied, “Mn, yes. After all, Shi Yu is the only one that I like.”

The omega in front of him turned white. He looked embarrassed and distressed.

Jiang ChengLi admired that for a moment and was thinking that this omega was really different. Shi Yu would never show this kind of expression no matter what.

“I’m not quite sure what you guys think of me.” Jiang ChengLi slowly stood up from his chair as he smiled. “And I don’t care. I’m a paranoid alpha. I like someone and I have to chase them down. Now, I’m sober enough to have a sense of proportion and know not to make things difficult for others. But maybe at some point I’ll stop and want to trap him in a place where others will never see him, hide him, laugh or cry, and let no one see.”

He spoke softly and slowly, but it made the younger brother tremble all over. Although there was a hierarchical difference between alphas and omegas, this era now promoted gender equality, and what Jiang ChengLi said was paranoid and dark.

The omega safety awareness course teacher had stressed that a dominant alpha must be avoided, because with an extremely high-level, danger-prone alpha, when getting together it was very easy to become life-threatening.

Jiang ChengLi said the most terrifying words with the gentlest expression. “I am probably the type that will not let go of my mate at all during my susceptible period.”

The younger student’s body stiffened.

Jiang ChengLi stood in front of him with a gentle and elegant posture, as always. He seriously asked, “So, if you’re not mentally prepared, don’t just mess around with the omega I’m interested in, okay? After all, you only like what I pretend to be. You don’t know what kind of alpha I really am, so don’t just say you like me.”

Jiang ChengLi had barely finished speaking when he heard a rattling outside the door of the student union.

He frowned slightly, leisurely pulled away from the younger student and walked to the door.

Shi Yu was scrambling to pick up the exercise books he had dropped on the floor. When he saw Jiang ChengLi come out, he bowed his head in embarrassment. “Did I startle you?”

Jiang ChengLi’s eyes were downcast. He wasn’t feeling panicked about being overheard, he just asked, “What do you want to do in the student union?”

Only then did the younger student come back from his complicated emotions. He hung his head and hurried out. He no longer dared to greet Jiang ChengLi.

Shi Yu was unable to help looking in the direction the younger student left. Then he glanced at Jiang ChengLi with a desire to say something.

“The class president wanted to turn in his report, but was called over by the class teacher and asked me to come over.” Shi Yu put the pile of information in his hand in front of Jiang ChengLi, and bowed his head. “I didn’t mean to eavesdrop.”

Jiang ChengLi watched his reluctant admission of fault and was amused. It was as if hearing himself speak was an affront to Shi Yu.

He wasn’t able to help licking the corners of his lips, and looked at Shi Yu. “Then tell me, what did you hear?”

If he was so unlucky that Shi Yu happened to hear it all, then he wouldn’t mind emphasizing once again who he was looking at. Lest he have another omega flaunt their power in front of him.

Shi Yu frowned and sighed after a few moments of contemplation. “I won’t discriminate against you.”

Jiang ChengLi, “…?”

“But trapping an omega is not a good thing. You have to be reasonable and moving or people will call the police. No one can help you break the law.”

Jiang ChengLi’s lip curvature scattered to a clean slate.

It seemed Shi Yu came at a bad time and did not hear the most important sentence.

Shi Yu looked at his slight disappointment and depression, and said righteously, “It’s not okay to be aggrieved. You’re thinking in a distorted way.” If their relationship was a little more ironclad, Shi Yu would be qualified to help him with a personality modification punch.

“And don’t say that kind of thing to just anyone in the future. If he tells the teacher, you’ll be dragged to the isolation control center again…” Shi Yu’s voice disappeared point by point. He was surprised that he had said ‘again.’

When had Jiang ChengLi ever been in a lockup? Why did he say, ‘again?’

Jiang ChengLi saw the hesitation in Shi Yu’s expression and moved a little closer to him. He asked in a low voice, “What if I’m pulled into the lockup?”

Shi Yu wavered for a moment. A blurred image flashed through his mind. He felt a little confused, and said casually, “Then I’ll bring you food. By the way, I’ll help you keep the little ice dragon.”

The little ice dragon went back to Jiang’s house by itself last night, and Jiang ChengLi took pictures of Shi Yu to reassure him. This answer was so amazing that Jiang ChengLi couldn’t hold back his laughter. He really was only thinking about the dragon.

Shi Yu came to his senses. He looked up at his eyes filled with helplessness and strange tenderness, and stopped what he wanted to say.

Jiang ChengLi saw that he wasn’t replying and said, “Just now, I rejected Qin Yu.”

Qin Yu was the name of the younger student.

Shi Yu basically guessed, but hadn’t expected Jiang ChengLi to admit it to him. He said dryly, “Oh.”

“You heard the reason, I think I’m fit to die alone.”

Shi Yu thought, Indeed, what omega would not be scared away by him if he said such dangerous words? But the answer was, “It’s okay, you can find true love.”

“What if I don’t?”

“…”

“Why don’t you give in and settle for me?” Shi Yu’s expression changed slightly, and Jiang ChengLi quickly added, “I’m just kidding, don’t take it seriously.”

Shi Yu frowned and thought for half a moment, then looked at Jiang ChengLi for several seconds before he said, “Not serious.”

Jiang ChengLi smiled. “Then go back. Class is over.”

Shi Yu turned back, then quietly looked at Jiang ChengLi.

The man stood in the doorway and waved at him. A beam of midday light shone into the hallway and fell on his eyes. It was as if they were glowing. Shi Yu squinted, realized he couldn’t see clearly, and said to him, “You should go to class too, or you’ll be late.”

“Just go.”

The news of Jiang ChengLi’s birthday soon spread throughout the class, and many people discussed it on the forum. Lian Jing rarely mentioned President Jiang since he learned that Shi Yu and Jiang ChengLi had separated. At first it was true that he had knocked on the sugar, but now he was looking at his own, knocked on the CP BE, and it was very difficult to break even.

He turned around and talked to Shi Yu. “What do you want to receive for your 18th birthday?”

“Whatever.” Shi Yu’s writing hand hurt but he very naturally said, “Jiang ChengLi’s eighteenth birthday is also here. Are you free to go with me to buy gifts?”

Lian Jing tactically retreated. Didn’t you two break up? Now you’re still getting gifts? But then he thought about it. What if they are together again?! His CP is HE again!

“Choosing a gift for an alpha, that’s a big learning curve. It depends on what level of friendship.”

Shi Yu thought about it and said, “A little higher than a normal friend?”
