Bai Lixin went to see Sophia the next day and found that the baby now looked like a one old. He was crawling all over the floor and chewing on anything he found curious.

His teeth marks were all over the woodwork, and even the cloth was torn.

Sophia, clearly not used to having such a big baby, was huddled in the corner of the bed and looking at the child in front of her vigilantly. Although the “baby” had come out of her stomach, she was terrified of him.

Seeing a stranger in the room, the baby, who was lying on his back, tilted his head and looked at the person in front of him with curiosity.

His mouth opened, revealing teeth lined with wood chips.

The baby seemed to sense the dangerous aura from Bai Lixin’s body, as he looked at him suspiciously for a moment, then crawled to the side, hugged a table leg and gnawed on it seriously.

Bai Lixin found the medicine box with ease and went to Sophia’s side.

It was now the second day, and the bite marks on his neck and chest were all gone, so he no longer needed to wear his shawl.

After unwrapping Sophia’s bandages, Bai Lixin asked, “How is the wound?”

Sophia, “It doesn’t seem to hurt anymore.”

The bandage was untied in circles, revealing the hideous wound inside.

The wound on her leg was much more serious than the one on her stomach, and while the cut on Sophia’s stomach had recovered in half a day, the wound on her leg had not yet fully healed.

But the injury was so much better.

Yesterday, her calf had been bitten through so completely that Bai Lixin could even see across the wound.

The flesh on the inside of her calf had grown back, and there were just a few tears near the surface.

“Bear with it.” With those words, Bai Lixin began to apply medicine to Sophia again.

Half an hour later, Sophia’s calf was once again bandaged.

The soles of Sofia’s feet had healed after a few hours of recuperation, and there was not a single scar on them; they were as good as new.

Her healing ability was really strong.

When she was all cleaned up, Bai Lixin asked casually, “Did you think of anything? For example, when you two were together, did he say anything that you remember particularly deeply?”

Sophia blushed with embarrassment and said, “When I was with him, the most he said was sweet words. He complimented me on my beauty, on my kindness and purity, on how I was the most perfect woman in the world. Anyway, he complimented me on everything.”

“I felt so pretty when I listened to him,” Sophia’s ears dripped blood and she wanted to find a hole in the ground, “but I feel so ashamed when I look back on his words.”

Bai Lixin was suddenly intrigued, “What did he say to you?”

“Er, just…” Sophia lowered her voice and imitated Mr. Mo’s, “My beloved Sophia, why did the heavens love you so much, to make you so beautiful. You are so gorgeous and innocent that my heart and whole body tremble for you…”

Sophia suddenly covered her mouth and dry-heaved twice, “Sorry, I’m a bit disgusted.”

Bai Lixin: “……”

It did feel a bit like eating a fly.

“No wonder I felt somewhat detached and empty, yet he looked at me with such deep affection. It felt like he was looking at someone else through my face.” Sophia shook her head with a bitter smile, “I thought at the time that it was the racial difference between Blood and humans that gave me that illusion.”

The baby was still hugging and nibbling on the legs of the table; the baby wasn’t thinking right now, and he was like an uncivilized animal who could only act on instinct.

“I don’t know the clue to his name, but I noticed something strange in this castle yesterday.”

Bai Lixin, “What strange thing?”

“In the operating room where I gave birth, I saw a strange girl.” Sophia sat up and leaned against the bed, trying to remember yesterday’s events, “I wasn’t always scared yesterday, and I didn’t sleep during the operation. When I was dazed, I saw a foot run past me. That foot was very white and tender, and the laughter was as melodious as a bell.”

“At first, I thought I was hallucinating and struggled to open my eyes. I saw a girl of 17 or 18 years old standing not far from the operating theatre. The girl was wearing a very thin pure white dress and was shaking her head at me desperately.”

“I got a bit scared and asked Mr. Mo who the girl was. But Mr. Mo said that I was making it up and that there was no such thing as a girl there.”

“By the time I looked back, the girl was gone. After learning the truth about Mr. Mo last night, I suddenly wondered if that girl was one of Mr. Mo’s targets, just like me and all those who were dismembered.”

“If that’s the case, that girl is in danger.”

Sophia looked at Bai Lixin, “Miss Xin, I want to go and save that girl.”

Since the bodies were dismembered, there should be an operating room, but he had found no such room in the castle.

Sophia didn’t give birth in her room yesterday, nor was she in Mr. Mo’s bedroom. So it was likely that they had gone to the operating room where the dismemberments take place.

Bai Lixin, “Okay, I’ll help you save her.”

Sophia, “You don’t know where it is? I’ll go with you. I saw the girl yesterday, and I could feel her fear.  She should be more accepting if I go.”

This was Sophia’s world, and Bai Lixin was not worried about anything going wrong with her, so he readily agreed, “Okay. But you have not yet recovered from your leg injury, we shall go there together when you’re healed.”

Sophia nodded in surprise, “Okay!”

Goodwill 110.

Bai Lixin froze.

He thought that the highest level of goodwill was 100, but it unexpectedly rose above 100?

[Ding! Congratulations, player. Sophia’s goodwill has exploded. Continue to increase it and you might trigger something magical.]

The system’s abrupt prompt suddenly rang out in his head.

Bai Lixin asked in his mind: [System, are you there?]

A cold electronic voice came: [Sorry, the intelligent system is disconnected. I am a non-networked system only used to post tasks. I can’t understand what you’re saying.]

Bai Lixin was silent.

In other words, the system he was communicating with before had a big internal data network, while in this inner world, the system network was inaccessible, so the standalone mode was used.

The stand-alone mode, commonly known as “fool mode” would simply release tasks and prompts. It would not be able to communicate with him.

While in the game lobby, the system said that there were millions of copies in the game world and the probability for players to enter the copies they saw on the live broadcast was low.

Perhaps it wasn’t that they couldn’t enter them, but that the system had secretly collected data. Once a player had watched a certain copy, it would filter that copy through and stop them from entering that game copy.

For example, this copy of [The Blood Clan] had been broadcast two days ago, but the only person who had actually seen it was Wen Ziqing. The rest, such as him, even if they had seen it, had only seen the ending. Would that help in breaking through the level?

It wouldn’t help in the slightest, but would rather increase the fear.

Of the fifty people, excluding Wen Ziqing, none of them had actually seen the broadcast from start to finish.

So how did Wen Ziqing get in?

Bai Lixin was still pondering when he heard the door to the room being pushed open.

He and Sophia looked up to see Mr. Mo standing at the doorway with his back straight and dressed in a black evening gown.

His eyes and the corners of his mouth were slightly swollen; his neck was bandaged; and the skin on his chin was bruised and battered.

On seeing Mr. Mo, Sophia immediately recalled the organs in his room and the terrifying bat, and her whole body shuddered uncontrollably. Her body shrunk under the quilt, and she quietly moved a little closer to Bai Lixin.

Mr. Mo’s eyes were slightly cold as he propped his cane up in front of him with both hands. His gaze swept over Sophia and Bai Lixin several times before stopping on Sophia.

“Sophia, were you in my room last night?”

Sophia fought back her fear, “No.”

Mr. Mer slowly approached and saw the small medicine box sitting by the bed, “Why is there a medicine box? Are you hurt?”

Sophia’s face went pale for a second, and she looked at Bai Lixin as if asking for help.

Bai Lixin stood up and walked behind the baby.

The baby was grinding his teeth in oblivion when his body was suddenly taken up in the air by a force.

He struggled to hold on to the wood in front of him, but to no avail, and could only watch as the teething stick moved further and further away from him.

In his anger, the baby flailed his limbs and opened his teeth and claws to bite.

Bai Lixin took the baby by the collar and shoved it into Mr. Mo’s arms, “You have the nerve to ask. Even if Miss Sophia is the mother of your son, she is still a human. I saw him biting Sophia’s leg when I came, and if I hadn’t arrived just in time, Sophia’s leg would have been torn to pieces.”

The ugly, wrinkled baby fell into Mr. Mo’s arms, and he immediately found its target. He opened his fangs and bit into Mr. Mo’s arm without saying a word.

Mr. Mo was quick, and he immediately picked up the baby by the collar and lifted it to his side.

His gloomy face faded away and was replaced by his usual gentleness, “So that’s it. This little thing has learnt to bully its mother. Sophia, I’m sorry, I was negligent. I had forgotten that newborns of the Blood race are born with unenlightened minds and they only have food in their eyes. Leave this child to me, my dear, and I will find someone to teach him.”

Sophia’s heart dropped slowly and her panicked eyes calmed down, “I didn’t take care of the child. I’m sorry. Thank you, dear.”

Mr. Mo’s eyes fell from Sophia to Bai Lixin. His puzzled eyes swept over Bai Lixin’s body and finally rested on the long, white swan neck.

There were no wounds on his body. Could it be that what had happened yesterday had been a figment of his imagination?
