Bai Yun Shan didn’t dare to underestimate these old men and women. Each of them had sharp eyes, so he couldn’t do what he wanted in the future. They were initially against the old witch, but now they stood by her. Bai Yun Shan was depressed. Ever since he met this old witch, his life hadn’t been good.

Wang Fang looked ashamed. Because of her diligence, kindness, obedience, and tolerance, the outsiders had always thought well of her. But now they didn’t think so. Wang Fang felt a little guilty when she saw the accusatory and disapproving gazes of those elders.

After tossing out a few more words, the neighbours left. Li Su sighed helplessly. Chen Tian Tian’s parents hadn’t left yet, so Li Su glared at Wang Fang.

Wang Fang hurried out to pour some tea.

Bai Yun Shan was a bit embarrassed. His whole body hurt, especially his leg. He was in a lot of pain, but the old witch didn’t say anything so he didn’t dare to leave. Who knew if the old witch would get angry. He now fully understood this old witch’s sinister intentions. With her behaviour, if the old witch killed him in the future, others would think that she had good intentions and wouldn’t blame her. How cunning.

Li Su ignored him. Instead, she talked to Father and Mother Chen about the property in detail. They then talked about Tian Tian’s recent situation. Finally, she mentioned, “There is a boy who seems to be interested in Tian Tian and is chasing her, but Tian Tian doesn’t seem to have realised yet. Of course, our Qing Qing is being pursued by someone.”

Father Chen’s face darkened. Tian Tian was only in college, yet some people were thinking about her. Mother Chen was delighted. “Auntie, what do you think of that boy? Is he any good?”

“He is not bad. He is considerate and attentive. When I went to the provincial capital, they accompanied me. If I think about it, the most important thing is that he needs to be good to Tian Tian and only have eyes for Tian Tian,” said Li Su.

Mother Chen was a little relieved. “If auntie says so, then it must be fine. What about Qing Qing? How is she?” Qing Qing has been good friends with Tian Tian for a long time. When there were boys chasing after Tian Tian in junior high school, Qing Qing dealt with all of them. She believed in Qing Qing.

“What auntie says is reasonable,” Mother Chen said, satisfied.

Father Chen thought for a while. “Auntie, you said that Tian Tian hasn’t realised it yet?”

Li Su nodded.

Father Chen took a deep breath. He hesitated whether to call and remind his daughter that she was still young and shouldn’t rush to fall in love. But when he thought about it, it was better not to call since it could be counterproductive. What if his daughter realised? What could he do then?

They should just go with the flow!

After Father and Mother Chen left, Wang Fang whispered, “Mum, is Qing Qing really in love? Where is the boy? What’s his family situation? Qing Qing, why didn’t you tell me you fell in love?”

“Why should she tell you? You might be her mother, but your life revolved around that man. Have you ever bothered with your daughter? You aren’t allowed to interfere with Qing Qing! If you dare to try, I’ll chop off your hands! What are you doing? Get cooking!” Li Su shouted.

Wang Fang felt a little wronged. What did she mean by not interfering with her daughter’s matters? Qing Qing was a child and didn’t know what was going on. She was her mother and the one closest to her before, but then Qing Qing became close with her grandma. But now she didn’t talk to her. Qing Qing told her grandma everything.

Wang Fang didn’t understand why her sensible and filial daughter stopped talking to her.

After Wang Fang left, Bai Yun Shan smiled. “How is the boy’s family background? What do his parents do? Do they have money?”

Li Su didn’t speak. She merely raised her hand, and Bai Yun Shan immediately covered his head. “I won’t ask. If I don’t ask, can you not do that?”

Li Su exited and stood in the yard with her hands on her hips. “I’m warning you. You better not disturb Qing Qing, or I will break your legs!”

Wang Fang was originally afraid of Li Su. She felt she had done something wrong and felt guilty. She immediately shrank and hid in the kitchen without saying anything, using it as an excuse to cook.

Bai Yun Shan felt pain in his body after he heard this, so he hurried back to his room to hide. Who cared about Bai Qing Qing? What he was worried about was Old Wang! He had agreed that he would pay tomorrow.

But there was nothing to worry about. The old witch was back. What else could they do?

Bai Yun Shan went to find his good friend Old Wang the next day. He spread his hands and said, “I can’t help it. The old witch will use the money to buy a place.”

Bai Yun Shan hesitated for a while, but then agreed.

When the new year arrived, Bai Qing Qing and Chen Tian Tian went home for the holidays. Bai Qing Qing’s heart tightened. “Grandma Wang, what wrong? What happened?”

“Your dad borrowed from a loan shark and the debtor went to your house and broke one of your dad’s legs. He is forcing your dad to pay back the money. Your dad said he would use your mum to pay off the debt.” Aunt Wang slapped her head anxiously. “Oh, I’m confused. You can’t go back. The debtors are big, hulking figures. They are fierce. Don’t fall into their hands. You need to hurry and find a place to hide.”

Bai Qing Qing said nothing to Chen Tian Tian. She picked up the box and ran home.

Chen Tian Tian was also anxious. “Qing Qing, wait for me!” She ran after her.

Bai Qing Qing ran all the way back home. The front was full of onlookers. When they saw that Bai Qing Qing was back, several people wanted to hold her and prevent her from entering.
