Chapter 1 – A glass of iced lemonade

“Hiss—”The pain hit Jing Qingxia’s brain.

The roar of a lot of bullets made her nerves twitch. The smell of blood swept over her, and the dizziness controlled her brain.

I am dead. I died on that battlefield.

The thought forced her to open her eyes and take a deep breath.

When she opened her eyes, she saw an unfamiliar scene.

However, the pain in her body disappeared, and the cool wind from the central air-conditioning vent also calmed her anxiety.

Frowning, she looked around.

It was a tidy bedroom, except for the enormous bed that she lay on. There were random discarded clothes scattered around.

The phone beside the bed rang.

Jing Qingxia answered the phone and watched the surroundings vigilantly.

The surrounding environment was still quiet, but it failed to dilute her anxiety.

On the other end of the phone came the gentle voice of a middle-aged woman: “Xia Xia, are you awake? It’s eleven o’clock. I asked Aunt Zhang to make your lunch. I don’t want to disturb your sleep plan for the summer vacation, but mom was afraid that you would be hungry, so why don’t you go downstairs to have a meal first? And mom will be back later with a gift for you. “

From the woman’s tone, it was easy to detect her doting.

Jing Qingxia glanced at the interface of the mobile phone, “Mother.”

But where did her mother come from?

“Let’s have lunch. Mom has something to tell you!” The tone on the other end of the phone was cheerful.

Jing Qingxia still couldn’t handle the situation, so she could only take advantage of it first, and respond with: “Okay, I’ll pack up and go downstairs.”

“Okay, okay.” her mother said.

Jing Qingxia hung up.

She picked up the clothes scattered on the ground, put them down, re-selected a set of convenient clothes in the unfamiliar cloakroom, and walked to the separate bathroom in the room.

Jing Qingxia, who had calmed down, couldn’t help but be shocked by the room. The room was 80 square meters. The fitness room, storage room, cloakroom, everything was 1.8 meters. The gigantic bed in the room was too small.

Not to mention the ultra-luxurious decoration of the bathroom with wet and dry separation and a bathtub.

She couldn’t help but glance at the mirror, wanting to see the difference between her Jing Qingxia and the “Jing Qingxia” called on the other end of the phone.

That face was her own when she was seventeen or eighteen.

She still had her sword eyebrows and star eyes.

She was more heroic than cute.

A pair of clear amber eyes stared back at her.

She was also more immature compared to her twenties.

Less sophistication on missions and less cynicism on vacation.

Jing Qingxia was in a trance for a while.

Dull, tear-like pain exploded in her head.

She grew up in an orphanage in the military region, and when she was fourteen, she was selected to join the army and trained as a special soldier for the army. At eighteen years old, she first won the Youth Division Award in the Military Region Fighting Competition.

But now, without the tendon of that body, after putting on a loose T-shirt, she looked borderline anorexic.

Her mind was in chaos.

A flood of unfamiliar memories flooded her mind.

Those memories belonged to another girl named “Jing Qingxia”, who had the memories of being spoiled and growing up since childhood.

With experience, Jing Qingxia forced herself to take a deep breath and dispelled the dizziness.

A new segment was squeezed into her mind again, this time with video segments and intermittent text content recorded from God’s perspective.

It was a novel.

The domineering girl called “Jing Qingxia” was a cannon fodder character in the novel and wanted to take the heroine as her own in the few pitiful scenes.

It was an unfamiliar setting, a C-level alpha small cannon fodder trying to mark the heroine as an S-level Omega.

The small cannon fodder failed after all.

The immersive picture made Jing Qingxia shudder.

“The heroine was a cruel person.”

Jing Qingxia washed her face with cold water and looked at the mirror helplessly.

The helplessness came from the setting of the world.

From the two memories, it could be seen that her worldview of the world differed from her original one.

The genders of the world were divided into alpha, beta, and omega, besides male and female.

Alpha and Omega were humans with special glands that secreted pheromones.

The pheromones could interfere with each other and attract each other, causing a series of reactions that were more like atavistic animal nature. The original animal nature was revealed, whether it was the territorial dispute between the same or the way of mates between the opposite sexes.

In this world, pheromones were divided into five grades: D, C, B, A, and S according to the concentration, from low to high. High-grade pheromone had a certain suppressing effect on the low-grade pheromone.

Compared with Beta, which does not emit pheromones, it was more stable and suitable for more logistical work in society, such as doctors and teachers.

But pheromones also bring convenience to alpha and omega.

The Alpha would have a stronger physique, be impulsive but more courageous, and have more leadership skills.

Omega would have a longer lifespan, less strength but more endurance, and be suitable for work that requires more comfort or more patience.

The division of labor in society seems to be more harmonious—if there were no regular periods of susceptibility and fever.

Both the susceptible and estrus periods were fatal for both alpha and omega.

Susceptible periods make alphas emotionally unstable, more likely to feel helpless, and more aggressive.

The fever period would make the Omega more vulnerable and need more spiritual and physical comfort.

Both the susceptibility period of alpha and the fever period of omega would trigger primitive impulses.

So during this period, alpha and omega stayed in a unified closed space, and it was very dangerous to let pheromones communicate.

In the original plot, the small cannon fodder wanted to take advantage of the heroine’s fever period to mark it.

The Omegas that were temporarily tagged would depend on the tagger.

Omegas that were permanently tagged would belong to only the tagger.

Whatever it was, the thoughts of the little cannon fodder were self-evident.

“She’s so rude.” Jing Qingxia cursed.

She probably understood her situation.

Simply put, she, who was originally a special force, completed the mission entrusted to her by the country and died in battle. Now she had transmigrated into a novel as a small cannon fodder.

Thinking of that, Jing Qingxia laughed heartily.

Of course, she was not happy to be a tool man’s cannon fodder.

Happily, the heavy responsibility of the past life had finally been let go.

The fortunate thing was that although the identity that came through was miserable, according to the two memory fragments, the timeline of the novel had not yet unfolded. None of the key plot points that drove her to her demise happened.

Happily, she seemed to have a home. Even if she got into the home like a thief.

After washing, Jing Qingxia walked downstairs.

The middle-aged woman who was busy in the kitchen seemed a little surprised: “Miss, you came down so soon? Food will be ready soon. Sit down and eat! “

Aunt Zhang was a simple woman in her 40s, a beta, a maid/ housekeeper.

She had been working for her family for over ten years.

“It’s hard work.” Jing Qingxia said subconsciously.

Aunt Zhang froze.

Tough?

Was this what a spoiled little princess would say?

The usually arrogant and domineering eldest lady only pretended to be a good girl in front of her parents, but now she said “hard work” to her.

But seeing Jing Qingxia’s expression, as usual, Aunt Zhang felt her thoughts were too mean. A little girl just came of age that year, and she vowed before the summer vacation that summer vacation would be fun and that she would work hard in the third year of high school next semester.

Although no one took her seriously, who knew, maybe she grew up!

“It’s okay, just sit down.” Aunt Zhang showed a relieved smile and was sincerely happy.

Jing Qingxia was thinking about the original character of Little Cannon Fodder.

Her character was similar to her own, but her behavior and thinking logic were different.

Thinking of this, Jing Qingxia also smiled at Aunt Zhang.

Aunt Zhang couldn’t help but blush.

After working in the Jing family for so many years, she still had to sign off today that the Jing family’s beauty genes were excellent!

The little girl had not fully grown yet; she was already so handsome!

The body was still growing, but if nothing else, with such long legs, even if she was thrown on the street, she could be recognized at a glance!

Aunt Zhang signed sincerely: “Xia Xia now looks like a star on TV. She is so beautiful. “

Jing Qingxia was stunned.

It had been a long time since someone used the word “beautiful” when referring to her.

When she was a child, maybe but after entering the army, she was questioned because of her good-looking appearance. Later, the praise had changed to sassy, talented, extraordinary, and outstanding, and even Brother Xia was awesome, but not beautiful.

Especially after long-term training, after tanning, the body is full of cocoons and wounds made from training and tasks. Sweatshirts and military uniforms were the only clothes in her wardrobe.

In a way, always training mentally, always preparing for tasks, and being alert to all the surrounding life was gone.

The meal washed away the anxiety that Jing Qingxia had about the new world.

Jing Qingxia was in a good mood and cleaned up the table.

Aunt Zhang and the maid next to her were so frightened that they hurried to grab them, as nervous as Jing Qingxia was about to fire them every second.

After understanding what was going on, Jing Qingxia just smiled.

Before she had time to explain, the door of the villa opened.

“Xia Xia!”

The last days of summer were still scorching, and a heat wave was blowing in through the door.

The sun was shining.

The backlight circled two figures in the heat.

She saw one of them kick off her high heels and run in, giving Jing Qingxia a big hug.

Jing Qingxia’s body stiffened.

Aunt Zhang laughed: “Madam, you are back.”

“Come back, Xia Xia, have you eaten lunch? We haven’t eaten yet. Aunt Zhang, can you make two more bowls of noodles?”

“Okay.”

Only then did Jing Qingxia realize that the extravagant and gentle middle-aged beauty was the mother of the little cannon fodder, Lin Chanjuan, a gentle A-level Omega.

“Xia Xia! Look who I brought back! It’s been a long time since you two last saw each other! “

Jing Qingxia squinted at the door.

The girl had changed into slippers and walked in from the front door.

The intoxicating lemonade, sweet and sour with a coldness that repels people thousands of miles away, was a glass of iced lemonade. It was the best drink in the summer, but no one could have it.

A description of the novel flashed in Jing Qingxia’s mind.

She had not yet differentiated, facing the top Omega, there was no way to smell her pheromones, but she also thought that the description in the book was not wrong.

She was reflected by the sun with light spots on her body.

Jing Qingxia didn’t know why the little cannon fodder was obsessed with the heroine, but she thought, in her case, the first reason for her fascination should be the tear mole.

The location of the mole was just right.

Even if the girl was indifferent and her eyes were firm, the tear mole made people feel her weakness and made them want to protect her.

Jing Qingxia couldn’t help but whisper the girl’s name, as firm as the next few decades: “Zhong Mingxue.”
