Due to that, 5 months of peace were experienced by everyone.

But just like what I said before, the king of the human kingdom decided to catch the hero and label her as a traitor to be colluding with the army of darkness or the demons as humans calls them, who are also an enemy of the demonfolk. Even though we are normal enemies with the human kingdom, the common enemy of the two is the army of darkness.

Still, the human kingdom decided to associate us as part of the forces of the army of darkness and started raiding our lands and claiming ownership to the lands previously owned by the demonfolks. We are now under the war between the human kingdom and the army darkness after that.

The hero who sided with us is hunted by the kingdom to return forcefully that time because the army of darkness is on the verge of ruining the kingdom. Because of this, the hero decided to help the human kingdom one more time and defeated the current threat. However, the human king decided to capture the hero and held a trial that resulted to the announcement of the hero's execution."

"The human king did that even though the hero decided to help them one last time?" I asked.

"Yes. It was broadcasted to the whole place that even the demonfolks were able to know about it. When the hero decided to prevail and defy the set to stone fate, the hero escaped and beat up the humans that tried to capture and bring the hero back to the execution site. The hero is strong and able to best enemies but even the hero has a limit. Since the hero was announced by the king to be executed after the hero defeated the army of darkness, the hero has no time to recuperate from all the injuries.

That is when the hero's last stand occured in the Dark Forest that is not yet corrupted. During the last hours of the hero, the hero decided to use the remaining powers left, the hero used this to create the Dark Forest as dangerous as it can be and died after. Using the weapons of the Hero, the twin swords as the catalyst, the Dark Forest continued to become dangerous, and corrupting the creatures that reside there."

"So in short summary, the reason why that forest is like that is due to the king of the human kingdom?" Yami looked pissed for some reason.

"Indeed. If you don't believe me, the human library might hold some of the records about this event. It is quite famous that it is impossible the exploits of the hero is buried to dust by history."

"How many years has it been since the hero died?"

"It's been 10 years. I personally witnessed the last moments of the hero before the forest became like this."

No wonder he is speaking like he have seen it before. He had indeed seen all of the events involving that hero.

"So do you know how to reach the place where the twin swords that the hero left after dying?"

"Yes. However, the whole area surrounding it is very dangerous. You can see it for yourself. It's not even comparable to your earlier encounter with the monsters inside the forest. It's much worse. If you plan on going there, you need to be prepared a lot to waste a lot of time and energy to push in towards the location of the two swords."

"That hard? I know the monsters on that forest is dangerous but its much dangerous once we get closer to the center?" Ishana scratch her chin as she listened carefully on Zal's information.

"That is right. Even I who witnessed the final moments of the hero could no longer approach there. The soldiers who chased the hero to death also died and before I can even rescue the hero from the eventual demise, I was chases by the demonic beasts. I barely managed to get out and if not for my expertise in traversing the DarK Forest, maybe I might have died from that."

"So after the death of the Hero, the human king immediately threaten our race and demanded a war against us, which caused the demonkinds who are living in the human territory to fled back in the demonlands to avoid the war. If that is the case, this stigma lasted for that long already?" Kyouya who was also listening concluded the story by piecing all of the info we have gathered so far.

"It's not like all humans has a negative view against us demonkinds. Some who lived in other lands without the knowledge of this stigma don't view us as part of the enemies which is why, we still have contact with the humans."

In the end of the discussion, the four of us decided to check out the Dark Forest. Although we still have the last person we needed to find, we still have no clue where the last guy is and if our assumption is correct, the last guy might be in the demonlands. If we needed to solve the problem of the stigma between the humans and the demonkind, then perhaps, we can find a good way to end it by checking out the last legacy of the hero that Zal is talking about.

Nighttime already came and since we are not going to venture into the dark forest in the evening, we were allowed by Zal to remain in this house. Apparently, he doesn't live here and is currently using this house as his smithy and the office of operations to monitor the dark forest. He goes home to his family in the afternoon and will return to this house the next morning. As for us, Zal allowed us to stay and rest for the night here since there are nothing worth stealing here.

The three already hit the sack as they are totally exhausted. On the other hand, I can't get a single wink of sleep due to the mana circulation in my body, keeping me energetic and good to go without the need of sleeping.

Blue seems to be resting as she is not speaking at all and my familiars are also resting, leaving me alone to keep on entertaining myself until everyone wakes up.
