Death... and me

1859 Settling things(Chapter preview)

"Do you need anything?" Roan asked her as he told Luan to go somewhere else.

Luina nodded, saying, "Well, it was pretty obvious that Rean wanted to make me give up on following you, so I just accepted his idea. Don't worry. I don't intend to go after you anymore since it's obvious that neither of you wants me to. If I was in your place, I would definitely feel annoyed."

Roan was surprised to hear that from Luina after all her attempts during their time in the Free Continent. Well, it wasn't really going to be called the Free Continent anymore, though. "That's good to hear from you. It goes without saying that I'm going to look for Calina, so I can't say anything yet."

Luina didn't mind it. "It's fine, as long as you still remember me. That's why I came here. I wanted to ask that you don't simply forget I exist after leaving. As selfish as it might seem, I simply can't help it."

"It's not selfish," Roan answered back. "First of all, even if I wanted to forget you, that's impossible. I haven't forgotten any single person whom I've had significant interactions with in my life, so you obviously won't simply disappear from my mind. I do like that girl, for some reason that even I can't understand. That's why I don't find your words selfish."

Roan then got close to Luina before patting her head, which was something that Luina had never expected from him. "W-Why are you doing it?"

Roan faintly smiled as he replied, "You have grown a lot, so I guess you deserve this bit, at least. I can stop if you want."

"No!" Luina couldn't be feeling any better at the moment. "You can continue a little bit more," said the girl with a flushed expression. She then asked one more time. "Will you really consider me if you find out that Calina isn't between us anymore?"

Roan narrowed his eyes for a moment before his expression returned to normal. "We'll see. I'm not exactly the type that pays much attention to relationships, and Calina knows that as well. Well, you're definitely different. However, if there comes a day when I feel like finding someone else, I'll have you at the top of the list. Would that be enough?"

Luina nodded with a happy expression. "Yes!"

Though, Roan also added, "You don't need to wait for me, you know. If there comes a day where you find someone as important to you as me, just go for it. You'll have a much better chance that way."

Luina shook her head. "That won't happen! How many years do you think it has been already? If I haven't forgotten you until now, I doubt that'll happen in the future."

Roan then retracted his hand and shrugged his shoulders in response. "Suit yourself. By the way, Rean was right on one point. Being able to see you fight against me at the same cultivation level would definitely catch my attention more than anything else."

"So you and Rean were talking to each other, huh?" Luina felt like she had made a fool of herself.

Roan then walked away as he answered, "Don't worry. I hate the fact that I'm related to that guy more than anyone else."

"Hahaha!" Luina couldn't help but laugh in response. "Indeed, there's no one you hate more than Rean, that's for sure. By the way, I also don't like him at all."

"That's something we have in common, it seems." Roan could only slightly smirk at that.

*Achoo!*

Somewhere else in the Soul Gem Dimensional Realm, Rean couldn't help but sniffle out of nowhere. "Hmm? I don't remember ever catching a cold after I started cultivating..."

The week had finally passed, and the members of all teams entered the spatial gates. However, Rean and Roan were an exception. Instead, the twins had left Butiva Country a few hours prior after entering the Soul Gem Dimensional Realm.

Inside the Dimensional Realm, Rean completely changed his appearance when he stepped inside the Circuitry Teleport Formation. After that, he charged the formation with Rank Four Divine Stones and set the teleport distance to its max range of 1000 kilometers. Yes, the Circuitry Formation of the Dimensional Realm could only teleport that far.

Nevertheless, there was a huge advantage to it. The teleportation of the Dimensional Realm was undetectable! That meant no one noticed when Rean reappeared a thousand kilometers away from the original point. He didn't stop there, though. Rean quickly entered the Soul Gem Dimensional Realm and reused the Circuitry Teleport Formation to go another 1000 kilometers away.

One might wonder why Rean and Roan had that many Rank Four Divine Stones. Well, they did have an entire continent under their control. Naturally, all the Divine Stone mines and things like that were also theirs to be used.

It was quite unfortunate that the Rambram Sect had cleaned the entire continent of any Rank Five or above Divine Stones. Otherwise, the twins would have quite a few of them as well. In any case, the twins were still able to gather almost 4000 Rank Four Divine Stones, which they were now using in the Circuitry Teleport Formation.

Well, Rean only used Rank Four Divine Stones for the first three teleportations. After that, he downgraded to Rank Three ones, although they wouldn't teleport as far. Rank Four Divine Stones could definitely help a lot in cultivation, after all.

Suddenly, Rean reappeared a few tens of kilometers from another city. From there, he took the teleport formations in the Formations Guild to teleport all the way to the northwest side of the continent. After all, the demon beasts' territory was on the northwest side of the center of the Realm of Gods. Better than that, the teleport formations of all countries were free to use during the competition, so it cost nothing to arrive at that place.

Last but not least, the monitoring formation was useless against Rean. That's because it was only visual monitoring, and Rean's Light bending skill made him invisible to all the spheres of energy in the area. The Rambram Sect still thought Rean and Roan were in the Soul Gem Dimensional Realm. They even had people monitoring the entrance of the Dimensional Realm there.

Now one might wonder, why was the entrance there? That was because Roan didn't come out with Rean. His leaving point was still set to Butiva Country. That meant the experts of the Rambram Sect were completely fooled. Once Roan took Rean's exit, that one would disappear without a trace!
