Dragon Monarch System

658 Chapter 658:- Mysteries

"Do you want me to keep going?" Lilith asked. The Dome-like Barrier in front of her had thousands of big and small cracks all over it. It looked like the Defensive Mana Formation was about to collapse at any given second.

"No, that would be enough. You can come down now." Aditya said with a smile.

Lilith was about to fly down to the walls where Aditya was standing when she noticed that the giant cracks that were all over the formation were rapidly beginning to heal. It was as if time had been reversed. All the damages to the Formation finished healing within 5 seconds.

"What was that?" Lilith came down and asked Aditya.

"That was the fourth function of this formation. Even if the whole Defensive Mana Formation is broken or severely damaged, the Formation will still heal or repair itself. If the Whole Defensive Mana Formation is destroyed, then it will take around 10 to 15 seconds for the whole formation to repair. If the formation is severely damaged, then 5 seconds should be enough."

"Lilith seemed intrigued. "Does this Formation do anything else?"

Aditya sighed. "Creating this second-gen Barrier was really hard for me because I had to include four more functions."

Lilith was confused. "I don't get it... It sounds pretty straightforward to me."

Aditya smiled and tried to make it simpler for her. "Think of it like doing a really hard math problem. Adding these four new features made solving this problem ten times harder. If I add another feature, it'll become so difficult that I might not be able to figure it out at all with my current skills."

Seeing Lilith's puzzled expression, Aditya realized that his analogy hadn't made things clearer for her. He knew Lilith's strengths lay elsewhere, particularly in her passion for history, not mathematics. So, he took a different approach, hoping to bridge the gap in their understanding.

"Let's put it in historical terms," Aditya suggested. His voice was steady and patient. Aditya not to lose his temper or make her feel inadequate. He knew everyone had their strength and weaknesses.

"Imagine you're trying to restore an ancient, intricate tapestry that's not only faded but also torn in several places. Restoring it to its original state is already a tremendous task, which is similar to the challenge I faced creating the Defensive Mana Formation."

He paused for a moment to ensure Lilith was following before continuing. "Now, imagine I decided to not only restore the tapestry but also add four new sections to it, each representing a different era in history. These aren't just any sections; they're as detailed and complex as the original work, if not more so."

Aditya noticed a flicker of understanding in Lilith's eyes. He then continued. "Adding these sections makes the restoration process not just about fixing what's already there but also about creating something new and complex that integrates seamlessly with the old. It's a task that requires an even greater level of skill and understanding."

Aditya paused again for a second to make sure that Lilith was able to understand what he was saying. "Now, if I were to add another section to this already intricate tapestry, considering my current level of skill as a restorer, I might find the task so overwhelming that completing it to the standard I've set could become impossible. It's not just about the addition but about ensuring that everything works together in harmony, without diminishing the overall integrity and beauty of the work."

"Now I understand." Lilith's eyes lit up. Although given her lazy attitude, it might be difficult to believe, that Lilith was actually really good at history. She even has a hobby of keeping a record of the events that happened in various past eras.

Though she was really bad at maths.

"I have some other ideas that I want to try implementing. I will do that later."

From their test, it had become clear that the current Defensive formation is capable of withstanding attacks from Beginner 5th-order. The formation can also withstand one attack from mid-5th order, but upon impact, the barrier will be severely damaged and it will take 5 seconds for it to completely repair. While it cannot withstand multiple attacks from mid-5th order.

However, the results were within Aditya's expectations. This was much better than before. Before the Defensive Formation could only stop attacks from cultivators whose cultivation was below 5th-order.

"Alright, our work is done here. Let's go.....!!" Saying that Aditya took Lilith's hand in front of everyone.

"You all continue with your work," Aditya said to the soldiers who were standing around him.

"Understood...!!!" All the soldiers said at the same time.

Around half of the soldiers that were standing on the walls and guarding the city were Dragon Warriors. With them guarding the city, not even any 5th-order cultivator would be able to casually enter the City.

Instead of teleporting back to the Dragon Palace, Aditya chose to walk back to the Dragon Palace with Lilith. In the last few days, Aditya hasn't been able to spend much time with her.

The last few days, he was always with someone. His fiancées made sure that he did not work. They wanted him to rest and do nothing else.

Also because Lilith had started working, she has become busier nowadays. Before, she used to stay at the Dragon Palace for the whole day. Sometimes, she would trouble Aditya or sometimes, she would just sleep in her room.

While walking with Aditya, Lilith had a small smile on her face. She looked really happy.

Aditya saw her expression. Seeing this, Aditya felt a little bit guilty.

"Sorry, I haven't been able to spend much time with you these days." Hearing these words, Lilith looked at Aditya.

"I can't deny that I wasn't disappointed. But now that you have said these words, I don't have any disappointment left in my heart." In the end, Lilith smiled at Aditya.

Seeing her smile, Aditya couldn't control himself. He pinched her nose.

"....Stop that.....!!" Lilith did not look too pleased.

"Why?"

"I don't like it," Lilith said while looking away.

"You're lying.....!!"

"I am not...!!" She still wasn't looking at him.

"You're.....!!"

"I am not...!!" She still wasn't looking at him.

"Then why are you not looking at me? Look at me and answer."

Lilith finally looked at Aditya and then just stared at him.

Both of them stared at each other for a few seconds, before Aditya leaned forward and Lilith slowly closed her eyes.

Hundreds of soldiers were staring at the scene while being frozen in shock. Countless pairs of eyes were watching them. These were the people who were standing in lines to enter the Azure City.

However, before they kissed, Aditya opened his Crimson wings. The Crimson wings covered their faces from the whole world and hid everything. No one saw anything. They could only imagine what must have happened under those Crimson Wings.

Lilith's body became slightly stiff as they kissed. Her body started becoming hotter with each passing second.

Once they separated, Lilith looked happier than before. Her face was slightly flushed red. This only made her look cuter.

"Let's go.....!!!" Aditya then took her hand and continued walking towards the Dragon Palace.

Lilith seductively licked her lips while looking at Aditya. Aditya pretended to not see this.

"Are you feeling well now?" Lilith suddenly asked.

"Thanks to you and everyone else's care, I have completely recovered."

"Then, Can we stop somewhere for a while? I don't want to go back to the Dragon Palace." Lilith said while giving a quick glance at his crotch.

Seeing this, he immediately understood her intentions.

At first, Aditya wanted to refuse her request but looking at her hopeful eyes, he couldn't bring himself to refuse her suggestion.

"Alright...!!"

"Where should we go? There is literally nothing outside here." Everything was inside the Azure City.

And now that all the trees and forest had been completely burned, there was no place for them to be truly alone.

"Hehe.....!!" Hearing this Lilith mischievously smiled.

"Don't worry, come with me." She began pulling him back towards the Azure City.

As they were passing through the entrance, Aditya and Lilith saw something interesting.

They saw a bunch of guards bringing somewhere around 19 criminals back to the City. The Captain who was leading the guards instantly recognized Aditya.

"Your Majesty...!!" He kneeled in front of the Emperor.

Others were about to do the same but Aditya stopped them.

"No need to kneel. What happened? Who are they?" Aditya curiously asked.

The Istarin Empire had a very low crime rate. Especially the areas around the Capital had almost zero crimes. Corruption did not exist. There was no way for any kind of crime to take place. So Aditya had become interested in seeing the guards bringing 19 criminals back to the City.

"Your Majesty, yesterday, a guard noticed that the graves of the fallen troops and people had been dug out. Upon closer inspection, we realized that all the cultivators who died in the Hydra's attack had their Mana Hearts taken out of their corpses. Pieces of evidence suggested that the crime had taken place not too long ago. As a result, we were able to trace these criminals down and capture them."

"After chasing them for around 4 hours, we have finally managed to catch them."

"Good job.....!!! Take them to the prison. Make sure that none of them can commit suicide." It was common for big crime organization members to end their lives when captured.

"Understood...!!!"
