Ex-boyfriend

Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Upon hearing those words, Xu Yue felt very disheartened.

He didn’t know if he was disappointed by Chu Yi’s unrepentant demeanour, or disappointed in himself… for having lost to that man yet again[1].

Chu Yi had said that he loved him, perhaps that was merely pillow talk. But he loves Chu Yi, at least he loves Chu Yi’s body. There was no doubt about that.

After that round of intermingling, it was almost dawn. The sky had gradually brightened, revealing a peculiar greyish white hue.

Xu Yue stared at the horizon out through the window for a while, and heard himself ask, “After you killed, where did you hide the body?”

Chu Yi, who was lying on him, was panting slightly. He said, “Did you only think of asking me that now? Let’s do it again! You can ask me while you fuck me[2]. I promise to tell you everything I know.”

Xu Yue glanced at him, suddenly grabbed his chin and kissed him hard. After kissing, he bit him hard on his lips.

Chu Yi was kissed until his whole body went mushy. He cried out, “A’Yue, it hurts…”

  Xu Yue said, “Spill quickly.”

Upon seeing his serious expression, Chu Yi turned over, laid by Xu Yue’s side and said, “Don’t worry. I’ve handled it properly. There is no way it would be discovered.”

“If the police finds out, no matter how much money you spend, you won’t be able to get away.” Xu Yue turned his head to look at Chu Yi and said seriously, “Go and surrender yourself.”

  Chu Yi raised an eyebrow.

Xu Yue continued, “I will go with you.”

     “A’Yue …”

“I’ll take responsibility for at least half of this matter. Or you could directly tell the police that I did it.”

Chu Yi was rendered speechless. He looked at Xu Yue in astonishment. After a while, he laughed out loud and the corners of his eyes reddened. He was slightly out of breath when he said, “Are you saying that you are willing to go to jail for me?”

Xu Yue calmly said, “I’m the reason for all this. Of course, its impossible for me to stay out of the matter.”

 “A’Yue.”

Chu Yi called out. His voice was gentler than ever. He turned to his side, his forehead lightly pressed against Xu Yue’s cheek. He mumbled deliriously as though from a dream, “I knew that you still love me. A’Yue, you love me, don’t you?”

  Xu Yue was silent.

However, he did not deny it either.

That was enough for Chu Yi. He wrapped his legs around Xu Yue’s waist and started to stir up trouble[3].

“Stop it.” Xu Yue patted his hand and said, “The knife that you used … how did you dispose it?”

Chu Yi was quiet for while as he bowed his head and muffled his laughter on Xu Yue’s chest. While suppressing his laughter he said, “I just told you some mindless nonsense. Did you really believe it? Even if I wanted a person to disappear from this world, there are so many ways to get it done. Then, why would I do it myself? Even if I do it, would I recklessly admit it?”

With every sentence he said, Xu Yue’s face fell.

Chu Yi also knew it was inappropriate[4]. He hurriedly got up from the ground and produced the key from God know’s where and unlocked the chains that bound Xu Yue’s feet.

Xu Yue’s heart sank into his boots[5]. He slowly sat up and asked, “So, you didn’t kill at all?”

“There must be some motive to murder, right? Who can I kill? Su Yanwen? To be honest, he isn’t worth it[6].” Chu Yi handed the phone back to Xu Yue, “If you don’t believe me, you can call and inquire.”

At this time, the sky had finally brightened. Xu Yue no longer had to worry about disturbing Su Yanwen’s rest and dreams. He directly dialled him.

”Hello, A’Yue.” Su Yanwen sounded exhausted.

Hearing his voice, Xu Yue’s heart which was in his mouth settled down finally. “Yanwen, where are you now?”

”C City. I came over last night (and have been here since).”

Xu Yue didn’t know what happened after he passed out. He had to say, “Sorry.”

 “It’s okay. I can understand.”

“How is (situation at) the factory?”

“With a call from young master Chu, what problem can’t be solved?” Su Yanwen let out a laugh. His laughter was tinged with an unconcealable sense of loss. “I will stay one more night and return tomorrow.”

 “Ok. Take care[7].”

Xu Yue exchanged a few more words with him and hung up the phone.

Meanwhile Chu Yi wrapped a bed sheet around himself, yawned and watched the sunrise outside the window. He asked, “How is it? Su Yanwen is safe and sound, right?”

Xu Yue was originally very sceptical of Chu Yi’s words. So, he had probed tentatively. Now although he was relieved, he still has some trepidation. “You shouldn’t be joking about this kind of thing.”

Chu Yi had no regrets. He only smiled and said, “Without saying those words, how could I try your heart?”

Xu Yue didn’t bother to reply. Instead, he asked, “What’s the deal with that chain?”

“That’s just for a little fun.” Chu Yi was up the whole night, yet he was full of energy. “If you like, you can tie me up next time. I promise I’ll cooperate well.”

Xu Yue was physically and mentally exhausted. He was so angry that he couldn’t speak. He could only turn around and go into the bathroom.

When closing the bathroom door, he heard Chu Yi say, “A’Yue, it’s really good.”

Chu Yi leaned against the floor-to-ceiling glass window and watched the sun[8] emerge out of the clouds. Suddenly, golden light spilled all around, dyeing his eyelashes with layer upon layer of shimmer. The corners of his lips curled up as he smiled. He sighed contentedly, “It’s really good, being able to spend this Christmas with you.”
