Chapter 503 - Disaster (Part 4)

Chapter 503: Disaster (Part-4)

At that moment, Charles was hovering than ten km away from the Holy See and stared at the descending meteorite with wide eyes.

The meteorite directly smashed onto the Holy See's outer dome and exploded in seconds.

Millions of people in the Holy See had already died long before the meteorite hit, and their bodies burned to ashes in a mere second.

Then, the huge and terrible explosion covered an area of 30 km2 and made the entire city turn into a fire that almost reached the clouds.

As for the rest, the explosion caused several earthquakes that even induced damage to the nearby Kingdoms.

It nearly shook the entire Faith Realm.

Charles also got entangled by the explosion, and his body started burning at an unimaginable speed!

His body was also flown in a different direction, and rocks and sand smashed him.

Thankfully, he was in his elemental form. Otherwise, he might have got himself killed by some random boulders due to the terrific shockwaves.

Still, the damage he received in the next few seconds was more than ever he had received in his life.

'I'll die if this continues!' At that moment, he knew that he would die in a minute or two.

Without any delay, he cast [Sun's Guard] spell on himself and tried his best to defend himself from all the rocks and debris.

At that moment, the whole sky turned red.

More than thousands of people died after the earthquake, which followed the meteorite collision in the other parts of the Light Kingdom. The meteorite also sent some massive waves to the surrounding lands, which caused a lot of animals and birds to die, too.

At that moment, the impact also threw hundreds of thousands of pieces of debris into the surrounding areas and created havoc.

Charles also resisted the shock waves continuously and watched the destruction in sheer shock.

Although the meteorite's collision didn't cause much destruction outside the Light Kingdom, he felt strange guilt inside.

"T-That Dice! Compared to the first disaster, the second one is ten times larger!" He sucked in a cold breath as he stared at the reddish surroundings and soon felt heavy in his chest.

Was it his mistake? No, he knew that it was a pure accident. What he did was throw the golden dice to see if it could help him escape the pursuit of Pope.

But he never expected it would bring this kind of disaster!

"Wait... When I rolled the dice, it landed while showing a face with two dots, right? Is this the reason for the two disasters? T-Then, what would have happened if that dice face with six dots faced the sky?" A strange chill crept up to his spine.

'Sh*t! I need to be very careful when using this artifact!' He continued to evade the debris while thinking and soon noticed that the bombardment had calmed down.

After a few minutes, the smoke and fire also settled slowly and revealed a large crater at the place where the Holy See was located!

Charles stared at the place for a moment and soon noticed that the earlier divine power was nowhere to be seen.

'I can teleport now?'

Without any delay, he cast [Flame Teleportation] spell, enveloped his body in a crimson flame, and disappeared from there.

A few seconds later, he reappeared above the Aetas Kingdom's Royal City, looked below the houses, and soon breathed out a sigh of relief.

"It seems Pope's last effort to lessen the meteorite's impact."

Although a few houses were damaged here and there, he noticed no major destruction or casualties in the city.

At that moment, the citizens were standing outside the house and were shouting here and there in a panic. Meanwhile, the elite Knights were trying their best to control the situation.

After confirming that everything was okay, Charles enveloped his body in a crimson flame and disappeared from there.

Then, he reappeared in the middle of the Throne Hall and soon clicked his tongue as he saw the destroyed old antiques, window glasses, and the newly attached Chandelier.

The wooden chairs in the Throne Hall were also messily fell here and there and appeared in a disorderly state.

At that moment, tens of servants and guards who were busy cleaning the Throne Hall startled got by Charles's arrival and bowed their heads one by one.

On the other hand, Charles casually waved his hand and ordered.

"Leave the Throne Hall now."

Although the servants were confused by his sudden order, nobody said a word and did as he told them.

As they walked out of the Throne Hall, Charles moved towards the throne canopy, stepped on the dais, and sat on the golden throne.

Following that, he touched the greenish pendant on his neck and ordered the Pocket Dimension's Will to send Melody and Irzoch out of it.

A moment later, the space in front of him started to distort and soon formed into a 1-meter tall portal.

Then, Melody and the injured Irzoch walked out of the portal, glanced at the surroundings for a moment, and bowed towards him.

Then, they shifted their gazes towards the hall and looked at the broken windows, chairs, and antiques in puzzlement.

"What happened, Your Majesty?" Melody asked in a startled tone.

Instead of responding, Charles looked at Irzoch's injured arm and gestured her to come forward.

Although Irzoch hesitated for a second, she soon nodded and stepped on the dais.

Charles placed his hand on the severed arm as she arrived near the throne and muttered.

"Life of Fire."

A second later, a dense amount of soul flame filled with a minute amount of essence came out of his right hand and enveloped her body.

As the soul flame touched the injured area, it started to heal the wound at an unimaginable rate.

Before long, new blood vessels and bones started to reappear from the severed area, followed by fleshes.

Within a few seconds, a brand new arm appeared in front of Charles.

Upon seeing this, Irzoch almost got into tears and bowed her head.

"T-Thank you, My Lord!" She said in a trembling tone.

Meanwhile, Charles finished his healing process, shifted his attention towards the [Curse of the Overlord] flame essence in their dark space, and waved his hand.

A moment later, Irzoch and Melody felt that some strangeness had disappeared in their mind but couldn't understand what it was.

Noticing their puzzled face, Charles smiled lightly and answered.

"I erased something from your mind, but it's nothing serious. Now, let's come to our current situation." He took a deep breath and spoke with a deep sigh.

"Holy See is no more. Also, the whole Light Kingdom is in a mess right now." He paused for a moment and started narrating the whole situation to both of them.

The more they heard, the more shocked they became!

By the time he ended his speech, the whole hall had gone into an abrupt silence!

"So... You caused the whole mess, Your Majesty?!" Melody asked with a dumbfounded look on her face.

"I didn't expect that rolling that dice would cause a meteorite to fall from the sky." A forced smile appeared on Charles's face as he said those words.

Meanwhile, Irzoch touched her newly formed hand like some treasure, then bit her lips and asked in a sad tone.

"So, are you planning to leave us here, My Lord? Why can't we come along with you?"

Charles shook his head and answered.

"That's because I don't want to interfere with both of your future. The more you guys stay with me, the more you will get interfered with by my power and lose your purpose. Also, this Faith Realm will turn into a chaotic zone from now on. All those kingdoms will fight against each other to gain supremacy because of the destruction of the Light Kingdom, and I want you guys to unite all the kingdoms and form a new empire." He paused for a moment, turned his gaze towards Melody, and then added in a solemn tone.

"Keep that one-time teleportation ring with you all the time. Although it won't work after I leave this plane, I might find this plane's exact coordination using that-"

Before he could finish his words, his eyes went blurry all of a sudden and showed him a future vision.

The next second, he blinked his eyes in surprise and spoke with a mysterious smile on his face.

"You also have another mission, Melody. It's a mission to save someone who is imprisoned in the Magewind city."

"Who?" Melody tilted her head and asked in confusion.

Meanwhile, Charles extracted a piece of his memories from his Inner World and sent it to her mind.

A second later, a memory of a brown-haired humanoid figure imprisoned in a black metal cage appeared in her mind.

The brown-haired humanoid figure had a feminine human face but had strange wood-like limbs. It also had barks on its limbs, had reddish eyes, a unique azure eye at the center of its forehead, and appeared more like an 8-years old girl child.

"W-What is this creature, Your Majesty? Is it a mutated human?" Melody asked in curiosity.

Charles shook his head as he heard her question and answered mysteriously.

"That's for you to find out. But don't go there before uniting the whole Faith Realm and integrating your domain with this mainland. If you go earlier, not only would you lose your life, you might even end up ruining someone's plan."

Although Melody didn't understand his motive, she quietly nodded and agreed.

"I'll not disappoint you, Your Majesty."

On the other hand, Irzoch seemed to have recalled something, hurriedly took out a strange black-covered book and the Talisman of Fortune artifact from her spatial ring, and gave them to him.

Meanwhile, Charles activated [Eyes of the Runes] skill and tried to scan the book first. But to his shock, all he saw was nothing but question marks!

Surprised, he scanned the book with his wisdom power and soon frowned.

"A time-related spellbook?"

After some thought, he stored the book and Fortune Talisman artifact into his space ring and shifted his gaze towards Melody.

At that moment, she had also taken out various artifacts which she took from Bishop Victor and presented them to him.

"Bangle of Judgement... Misery's Bracelet... Twin Ice-Hearts... Life Branch... Tri-Mind Hat... Mask of Deception..." As Charles analyzed them one by one, he shook his head and spoke.

"Split the spoil among yourselves."

Saying so, Charles then shifted his gaze towards Irzoch and continued.

"You are free to do whatever you want until I come back. It may take a decade or even a century for me to return. Till then, enjoy your freedom and decide a goal for your life."

While speaking, he stood up from his seat and took out the portal stone from his space ring.

He then placed his soul imprint on the portal stone and activated it.

The next instant, he noticed that the portal stone sent a mysterious wave towards his head, scanned his body, and soon sent a piece of information to his mind.

A moment later, a row of information appeared in front of his eyes.

"Runal Language?" A surprise flashed on Charles's face as he muttered and read it slowly.

"Soul Name... Identity number... Passcode..."

Then, he raised his hand and tried to write a name with his thought.

...

"Soul Name: Runeth Aixus Rit'zyk."

"Lawful Faction's Identity Number: 255308 211648 278153 269542 273447 147746 271062 179267"

"Passcode: ************************************************* *"

...

Just as Charles input the correct passcode, he suddenly felt that the space around him started to distort, and soon a strange power was pulling him into the void.

Before he could even say goodbye to Melody and Irzoch, his body turned illusionary and disappeared from the throne hall.
