Chapter 267: Why Are You Here?

The strike was so loud that nothing could have covered it. Coincidentally, Annot had already finished singing, so when the crowd opened their eyes and looked at the stage, they had the same realization. Why is there a crater on the stage? But despite their confusion, they were still in a state of bliss from Annot’s singing and didn’t truly investigate the reason.

On the other side, Xiang Ning picked up Peng Saike, who didn’t have an ounce of strength left to retaliate, and tossed him into the bathroom. He coughed up some blood but smiled for some unknown reason. “Powerful. You’re too powerful. But why were you willing to throw away your bright future for me—or rather, for Annot?”

“I don’t understand what you’re talking about?” Xiang Ning shook his head. My future? Why would defeating you to save Annot be giving up on my future? Am I offending some huge organization because of this? Sect Master Fang was the one who had assigned him to his mission, and he represented the means of Earth—or at least Earth’s Federal Government. They should be powerful enough to squash any opponents, right?

However, he still had to rely on himself and intended to hurry to the Chaos for research after this mission to straighten out the dimensional travel technology and make it more practical. So far, his Master Dong Qianyi liked him very much, and with his current contributions to humanity, he shouldn’t be that easily threatened, right?

If even he could be easily threatened, who would dare work for the Federation in the future?

Peng Saike only smiled. “You’re so young, it’s impossible for you to withstand Annot’s beauty. I hope you never regret this.” Peng Saike shut up after saying that.

Xiang Ning was confused, but since he was afraid of Peng Saike escaping, he maintained his state of five open gates even though he had to drink a small green vial of healing potion every minute. When he saw this, Peng Saike shook his head. “You don’t have to hold on anymore. My mission has failed. Your people must have Annot surrounded in solid protection by now. I lost my chance.”

Xiang Ning rolled his eyes. Yes, you lost the chance to kill Annot, but you still can kill me!

He suddenly heard a loud rumbling from outside, as if a fighter jet was flying above them. Reinforcements had arrived.

Out of the blue, the ground shook once. Xiang Ning cocked an eyebrow. Why did he have a bad feeling?

Boom!

Xiang Ning was startled and grabbed Peng Saike to retreat. One of the bathroom’s walls had collapsed, replaced with a three-meter tall tank. It looked similar to one he had seen in exploration mode, but it wasn’t the same.

Two headlights swept the area and suddenly dimmed when they spotted Xiang Ning. Its middle section opened, revealing the driver’s area.

It was Dong Qianyi.

“Master? Why are you here?”

Dong Qianyi’s mouth twitched. Did he have a choice? When Annot sang the song, other than the mounted cameras that continued rolling, manual cameras either fell crooked or were completely shut off. Something had obviously happened, and he received intel that a tier five master was present while Sect Master Fang was occupied by another tier seven master.

With a planned attack like this, powerful forces must be in play. His own disciple had been chosen as Annot’s personal bodyguard. While he didn’t know whether Annot was dead, if she was, it meant the boy had either lost or been directly killed.

So why wouldn’t he panic?

But now that he saw Xiang Ning standing there unscathed, he heaved a sigh of relief. Dong Qianyi noticed the difference in Xiang Ning’s aura. It was much too powerful, completely mismatched with his real cultivation level.

When Xiang Ning saw Dong Qianyi, he deactivated his Eight Gates skill. He had no choice, it was too energy-consuming. Not to mention, healing potions were just too expensive.

“Xiang Ning, what’s up with your aura?” Dong Qianyi noticed Xiang Ning’s aura had calmed down and now he was exactly the same as he usually was. However, upon closer inspection, Xiang Ning was still slightly stronger than before. He might be fatigued right now, but he was a tier four, two-star martial artist.

“I feel fine,” replied Xiang Ning, pretending to be confused. Peng Saike was the most surprised of them all. He had witnessed Xiang Ning completely erasing his violent burst of energy so quickly, returning to his base cultivation level. While he was fatigued, he was relatively unscathed and not damaged at all!

“You! How did you…?!” Peng Saike was so shocked that he couldn’t continue speaking. What breathing technique was that? If there existed a breathing technique like that in the world without side effects, then martial artists who possessed it would be beasts. They could rely on it to comprehend higher cultivation tiers before actually reaching them, which would be greatly useful for breakthroughs.

“Ah!” A rock struck Peng Saike’s head, causing him to faint.

Dong Qianyi’s expression darkened when he saw Peng Saike. “What are you doing?”

“Hmm? What’d you say, Master?”

Dong Qianyi’s expression darkened further, but he took a deep breath and decided to reprimand Xiang Ning next time.

Several soldiers burst into the room and, after some explanation, took Peng Saike away.

“Wait, where are you going?”

“I’m going to look for my sister.” Xiang Ning scratched his head. He wasn’t sure if the enemy would go on a rampage when they knew their mission had failed, causing collateral damage.

......

There was indeed a group of people on a frustrated rampage outside, but they weren’t from Azura—they were the Seven Deadly Sins!

When most of the attention was captured by Annot, the Seven Deadly Sins took this opportunity to slip in. A large group of Seven Deadly Sins members entered Marsh City, including Pride, the person who stopped Sect Master Fang!

It was said that Sect Master Fang and Pride fought an intense, violent battle, destroying countless vehicles along the way. They dueled all the way from the Thunder Dojo to the countryside, and no one knew what was happening now.

Xiang Ning walked out of the stadium. It was utter chaos.

“JT, I have eyes on you. Xiang Xiaoyu is a hundred meters northeast of your location. There are four mutants there, and we’ll be initiating long-range attacks!” a familiar voice sounded in his ear.

“Thanks!” Xiang Ning’s eyes lit like torches as he dashed in his sister’s direction using Shadowmist Ghost Step.

Xiang Xiaoyu was currently protecting a four or five-year-old girl next to her.

Doge & Chacha's Thoughts

Shhhh. Don't go revealing MC's secrets. By the way, did you know that getting hit by a rock on the head is the most primitive version of an amnestic? Along with wooden clubs! *bonk
