The commander of that area of the battlefield had wanted to send a few more teams, but was astonished by how Marsh City’s teams could kill more than thirty beasts in such a short time. Just as he considered sending reinforcements, the soldiers successfully reclaimed access to the other mouth of the tunnel, much to his delight!

If they could entirely surround the beasts, they could resolve the tunnel invasion most efficiently, then finally send more manpower outward without getting stuck.

After confirming their identities, he picked up his communication device and said, “Attention Toro City team. You’re currently in tunnel thirty-one, which contains a horde of beasts. Please work with the Marsh City teams to surround and kill them.”

“Copy that.”

“Boss, we’re going to earn more points from this again.”

Toro City was made up of the northern minority tribes of China. The Karan tribe in particular had strong, muscular physiques. Despite their low numbers, their powerful combat abilities had made them a strong asset during the Great Disaster. Theirs was a stronghold guarded by fearsome warriors, and to this day, many Karan warriors were still sent to guard the other major cities. Warriors like them were usually responsible for killing the head of the armies, such as Beast Generals and Kings.

Their only flaws were that they were a little arrogant and bloodthirsty.

Charotis was the leader of Toro City’s squad for this battle. They didn’t have academies there, so they were present under more special circumstances.

“Alright, I understand. Tell the commander to ask those ‘lukang’ to hold on just a little longer. We’ll immediately kill our way there,” Charotis chuckled. The word ‘lukang’ meant punks, or noobs.

“Haha, Boss, if we tell them that, we won’t leave a very good impression on the commander.”

“Whatever, let’s get over there now or if the ‘lukang’ injure themselves or die, they’re going to cry. I don’t like crying.”

“HOOWAH! KILL!”

“HOOWAH! KILL!”

“HOOWAH! KILL!”

A row of ten people advanced toward the beast horde like a killing machine. They were a terrifying force indeed, especially Charotis, who was a tier four, one-star martial artist. Right after he killed a tier three beast, his weapon was stuck and momentarily could not swing it toward another tier two beast charging at him. He then used only the sheer force of his fist to slam the three-hundred-kilogram beast into the ground. Unsatisfied, he walked over and put something on his hand, then literally tore it apart with his hands. It was a gory scene; he looked like a wild beast himself.

In barely ten minutes, the tunnel had been cleared. The commander of tunnel thirty-one was overjoyed but before he could celebrate, there was a conflict that arose because a Marsh City member had helped Toro City’s members kill a beast.

“What do you mean by that?!”

“What did I mean? Why’d you steal my prey!? Did you know that I lost because of this beast?!”

“I was helping you!”

“Why the hell would I want a lukang like you to help me?!”

“What’re you talking about?!” Although he didn’t know what a lukang was, he understood that he was being insulted.

“What? You wanna fight?” Whenever conflict arose, the Karan people wouldn’t be calculative if you relented, but if you were ever aggressive toward them, they would retaliate.

“Li Zimo, hold on, hold on. There’s no need to argue over this.” Wu Rui approached, pulling Li Zimo’s arm with a smile as if trying to de-escalate the situation.

The person involved in the argument with the Karan people was Li Zimo. He felt like his kindness had been trampled on, but when he saw Wu Rui’s reaction, he decided to give up. There were more beasts to kill, so there was no point in being stubborn. He would just treat them like barking dogs.

But Li Zimo was stunned when the smiling Wu Rui suddenly kicked hard, channeling a tier four martial artist’s power into his leg. The strong aura instantly caused the arrogant opponent’s expression to change.

THUD!

When the kick landed, the man flew back. If he hadn’t been caught by other Karan tribesmen behind him, no one knew how far he would have flown.

“If we can fight, we try not to argue.” Wu Rui felt relieved to kick, finally understanding why Xiang Ning looked so happy every time he got to punch someone. It felt really good.

Li Zimo nodded and solemnly replied, “Yes, that makes sense. Next time, if we meet bastards like that, there’s no use talking.”

If Xiang Ning were there, he would have seen ten notifications telling him he’d earned 999 Fury Points.

The other Karan tribesmen that witnessed the kick looked like they had been lit on fire, each of them turning red with anger. They glared at Wu Rui as if they were about to eat him alive.

“Hehe, what’re you looking at?!” Wu Rui roared, his voice echoing across the tunnel like thunder, its reverberations hurting everyone’s eardrums. Wu Rui had killed more than twenty beasts alone in fifteen minutes, plus, with the Wu family’s breathing technique, his power was at its maximum.

At this point, Xiang Ning would have to open three Gates to defeat him.

Charotis’ face changed. The aggressive aura was equivalent to the Karan tribe’s aura, if not even more ruthless. It immediately turned their leader hostile. First of all, Wu Rui had kicked one of his teammates. He wouldn’t have said anything if they were fighting, but that was an ambush.

On the other hand, he thought Wu Rui was just a lowly, selfish person until the moment he sensed the explosion of power in him and was immediately interested.

“It has been too long since I’ve met an opponent that excites me. My name is Charotis. Warrior, you have the right to know my name!”

Wu Rui smirked. “Opponent? I only have one worthy opponent. You? Who the hell do you think you are?”

“Fuck! Leader, let us fight him first!”

“He’s being too arrogant!”

“Who do you think you are?!”

Wu Rui smirked. When he was about to move, Lu Shiyu suddenly stepped forward. Since the Karans were still reasonable people with values, they didn’t usually hit women as long as they weren’t enemies.

When they saw a girl as beautiful as her step forward, they instinctively shut their mouths. Some people were expecting something to happen, but Lu Shiyu only unslung the Artemis Mk. 1 Sniper rifle that she took back from Liu Ruoxue from her shoulder, pointed the gun at Charotis’ forehead, and smiled. “Are you still going to move?”

Charotis’ eyes widened. He could easily have dodged Lu Shiyu when she unslung her weapon, but his pride made him stand his ground. That was how he got into a situation like this.
