Chaos Saga

Chaos Saga’s base was located in the mountains of Yamanashi Prefecture. It was about an hour and a half away by car from Shinjuku. It was surprising how it hadn’t been discovered yet even though it was so close to Tokyo. But that had to do with the location of the dungeon entrance.

The dungeon Chaos Saga is based in, is located on the premise of an industrial waste company. The name of this waste company is Gonda Shokai. This is only the front face of Chaos Saga. The president of Gonda Shokai, Minoru Gonda (52), is also the clan leader of Chaos Saga.

Gonda Shokai’s Chaos Saga has about 100 members. The number is ever changing, as members often come and go. Most of the members have Chaos-type blessings. Most are young, many in their teens. There’s a reason for this. Gonda Shokai became a receptacle for juvenile delinquents.

Chaos-type blessings, for example, a blessing from the God of Theft, are generally shunned upon by the general public. There are few companies that would bother to hire holders of such blessings. Chaotic blessing holders have nowhere to go. This is where Gonda Shokai comes in. Members first start out as an employee of Gonda Shokai, and then, gradually, become assimilated as a member of the Dark Clan.

Tasks in Chaos Saga vary depending on the blessings of the members. Some members simply collect magic stones and drop items in their own dungeons, while others use their blessings to perform other tasks. For example, those with the Thievery spell will use their special ability of ‘being less noticeable when stealing’ to steal in and out of dungeons. It’s surprising to hear that they even receive requests for industrial espionage from large corporations.

Of the many young members of Chaos Saga, there are three individuals known as executives. One of them is Tomizawa (45), who showed up at the Calico Cat Company. He is an old member of Chaos Saga and has a blessing from the God of Gluttony. When he eats something while conscious of his blessing, the people around him become nauseous and eventually pass out. It’s a very annoying blessing that doesn’t allow anyone around him to eat except himself.

The next is Memeno (24). He is blessed by the God of Laziness. When he feels like doing nothing, a kotodama is born and takes care of the troubles on his behalf. Memeno has already fallen down here, so there’s no problem.

The only ones unaccounted for were the third executive member and Gonda himself. The third executive seemed to have just joined the company recently, and there was little information about him in either Memeno’s or the other two’s memories.

The problem was Gonda. Gonda had a blessing from the God of Greed. The blessing of greed is considered as one of the strongest, and worst, blessings. There is one known ability associated with the blessing of greed. This ability allowed one to take away one skill used by one’s opponent.

I don’t know how many skills Gonda has taken so far. However, as far as I can see from the Memeno’s memory, Chaos Saga has had hostile relations with a number of dark clans, some of which have even been destroyed in the end. It’s safe to assume that they possess quite a number of skills by now.

“Hmm, they’re here.”

Wakutsu and Gojo each informed me that they were ready.

“Are you ready?”

“Um.”

Mayuzumi was flat as usual.

“If you’re in danger, run away by yourself.”

“If it gets dangerous, we’ll all go down together.”

“I see. I’ll leave it to you.

“Then, leave it to me.”

Okay, let’s start the operation.
