GS 8: Sanctioning Marriage

Fu Shen’s heart jumped like mad, its jumbled sound pounding in his ears. The arrow seemed to bring him back to the nightmare-like, desperate Asuran battlefield, the rocks falling towards him. His crippled legs acted like they themselves had memories, transmitting the acute pain of breaking bones that had caused him to pass out before.

He hunched over, back arched harshly, in a subconscious act of self-protection. Large beads of sweat ran down his temples, trailing along his slim cheeks to slide down his neck. His tendons strained under his pale skin like they were about to burst out of him.
