The two police officers looked at each other, the older one then looked at Jiang Chengyan, smiled, “You came here to travel. It’s getting late, we don’t want to delay your time. But you don’t need to worry, we will handle them strictly and guarantee to give a satisfactory explanation.”

Jiang Chengyan also noticed something was wrong when he looked at the car not far away. He lowered his eyes and said, “you are right. Our itinerary is a bit tight, so we will trouble you two.”

The two police officers saw that Jiang Chengyan was very sensible, they smiled more kindly and said, “no trouble, it’s Serve The People1. Then we will take them away. I wish you all a good time. ”

Jiang Chengyan nodded with a smile while watching the police bring the five people on the ground into the car. He winked at Yan Yu and walked to their car.

Before they could get into the car, they saw the two police officers come down again, with guns in their hands.  The black muzzle of the gun was aimed at Jiang Chengyan and Yan Yu.

“Don’t move! Hold your head with both hands and squat down!”

Jiang Chengyan’s eyes flashed, pretending to be confused as he asked, “Comrade police, what do you mean by this?”

“Are you a police officer, or a criminal police officer?” The slightly older policeman narrowed his eyes and looked dangerously at Jiang Chengyan.

The suspicion in his heart was confirmed, which meant that his identity was exposed and Jiang Chengyan had no need to conceal it. He said, “Yes, I am a police officer. You already know my identity and are still pointing a gun at me.  So, it seems you’re with them.”

The young police officer cursed, “What a fucking bad luck! Lao Liu, these people can’t stay, otherwise, we will all be fucking screwed.”

Liu Changyuan took the gun and said, “Stop talking nonsense, you go and tie them up, it won’t end well when someone comes.”

Wang Ming put away the pistol before taking out the rope from the car and strode towards Jiang Chengyan. Jang Chengyan and Yan Yu exchanged glances as they watched Wang Ming walk over. Wang Ming stretched out his hand to grab Jiang Chengyan’s collar, but Jiang Chengyan grasped his wrist and twisted it with force. The pain in his wrist made Wang Ming subconsciously turn around and turn his back to Jiang Chengyan. The moment Liu Chengyan fired, Jiang Chengyan crouched down and hid behind Wang Ming.

Just when Jiang Chengyan made his move, Yan Yu leaped forward and rolled and hid on the side of the car, blocking Liu Changyuan’s sight.

“Bang”

A gunshot sounded. The bullet grazed Wang Ming’s body. He said loudly in panic, “fuck! Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot! What if you hit me?”

Liu Changyuan’s face changed, the ruthlessness flashed in his eyes.

Wang Min noticed the change in his expression, he said in a panic, “Lao Liu, we have been together for so many years. You can’t kill the donkey when the grinding is done.2“

“It’s better for you to die alone than for us all to go to jail. Don’t worry, I will let them bury you, and make sure you are not lonely on Huangquan Road. “Liu Yuanyuan looked at Jiang Chengyan with a fierce eye.

“Liu Changyuan, you son of a bitch! I will not let you go even if I am a ghost …..” Wang Ming was extremely scared and angry at the same time.

‘Bang’

The gunshot sounded. Wang Ming looked at his chest in horror. He spits out a mouthful of blood with his body falling to the ground, trying not to lose consciousness.

Just when Liu Changyuan was about to shoot, he suddenly felt a chill on the back of his neck before he lost consciousness.

Seeing Liu Changyuan panicked for a moment, Jiang Chengyan took the opportunity to take out Wang Ming’s pistol. As soon as he wanted to pull the trigger, he heard Ling Hua’an say, “Captain Jiang, don’t shoot.”

Jiang Chengyan was stunned when saw Liu Changyuan walking over with a gun, with a weird smile on his face. He walked to the front of the car, where the dash cam was unable to record it. After that, Liu Changyuan suddenly fell to the ground and made Jiang Chengyan startled.
After he realized it must be Ling Hua’an’s doing then he breathed a sigh of relief.
Lu Hao who was in the car was frightened by what happened just now. His face was bewildered until Jiang Chengyan and Yan Yu tied Liu Changyuan up.

“Ge, what happened just now? Why didn’t I understand? ”

Ling Hua’an waved his hand at the ghost, as if nothing had happened, “what’s the matter? Wasn’t Captain Jiang that captured the man just now?”

Lu Hao was really confused when he asked this. He almost forgot that Ling Hua’an couldn’t see. He rubbed his head and said, “No, Ge…the thing is like this. Just now two police officers came, they took those people to the car, and then pointed a gun at Yan Yu-ge and Captain Jiang. When Captain Jiang captured one of them, the other one fired and wounded his friend. Well, that’s nothing. But what I didn’t understand was, how the police officer who fired suddenly walked to our car and then fell to the ground?”

“Maybe he has a sudden heart attack or low blood sugar. Why do you care so much? The most important is we are safe now.”

“But the timing is too late for him to have a heart attack….” Lu Hao couldn’t understand, but he didn’t bother anymore. Ling Hua’an was right, their safety was the most important thing.

Jiang Chengyan immediately made an emergency call. After thinking for a while, He directly called Gao Yuan, the criminal investigation team of Licheng. Gao Yuan is his college classmate. When he was at school, the two had a good relationship, but later Gao Yuan returned to Licheng, making the two have less contact.

After waiting for another fifteen minutes, the ambulance arrived first. After looking at the situation at the scene, the doctors and nurses looked at Jiang Chengyan and the others suspiciously.  It was not until Jiang Chengyan took out his ID, then they took Wang Ming to the hospital.

After another ten minutes, the siren sounded, and several police cars drove over from a distance. The police car stopped at the roadside and Gao Yuan walked out of the car then walked towards Jiang Chengyan. He said enthusiastically, “Chengyan, I haven’t seen you for a long time. Why don’t you tell me when you come to Licheng?”

Jiang Chengyan answered with a smile, “I came to Lin Cheng to travel and just arrived today. I was planning to look for you in the evening, I didn’t expect to meet like this.”

Gao Yuan looked at Liu Changyuan, who was leaning against the car, and said with a frown, “Lao Liu? Chengyan what’s going on here?”

Jiang Chengyan pointed to the car not far away, describing in detail what happened before, “Those five people in the car were in the same group with this police officer. We have a dash cam in our car and recording what just happened. I will give it to you to check it.”

“I can’t believe this is happening.” This kind of thing that happened on his own land made Gao Yuan’s face didn’t look good either. He looked at the people around and said, “Take those people away.”

Two criminal police officers put Liu Changyuan in the car and handcuffed the others and it took several police cars for them. They also obtained evidence at the scene and took photos.

After a bit of work, Gao Yuan came over again, looked at the people in the car, and said, “Chengyan, I have to trouble you to go back to the team with me to make a statement.”

Jiang Chengyan nodded and said, “Understood, let’s go. We’ll follow behind.”

Jiang Chengyan got into the car, Yan Yu started the car and followed behind.

Ling Hua’an asked with concern, “Captain Jiang, Yan Yu, are you two injured?”

Yan Yu was the first one to answer, “no. Don’t worry.”

Jiang Chengyan followed then said, “We are all fine. How about you guys? Are you injured?”

“We have been in the car, how could we be injured? “Lu Hao said helplessly, “It’s just that today’s trip may be ruined.”

Ling Hua’an said with amusement,  “Who is to blame for this? I have never understood how unreliable this navigation is to guide us from the sea to the mountains.”

Lu Hao scratched his head in a daze and said, “Did I accidentally see the wrong way? But fortunately, these people met us. Otherwise, there would be other people get killed. We saved people indirectly and caught criminals. It was worth the trip. Don’t you think so, Captain Jiang?”

Jiang Chengyan smiled and said, “En. Lu Hao is right, it’s a worthwhile trip.”

Listening to Jiang Chengyan protecting Lu Hao, Ling Hua’an couldn’t help feeling happy but then he said with an unhappy tone, “It was a good trip, but I almost got killed here.”

Lu Hao hurriedly begged for forgiveness and said, “Ge, I’m wrong, okay? Don’t talk like that.”

Seeing this, Jiang Chengyan changed the subject and said, “Hua’an, how did you find out that there’s something wrong with them?”

“Yeah, I’m curious too.” Lu Hao continued the conversation and smiled at Jiang Chengyan feeling grateful.

How could Ling Hua’an not understand their little thoughts? He was amused for a while, but he didn’t expose it, “Intuition.”
“Ge, are you going to use that word to us?”

In fact, when Ling Hua’an was close to these people,, he saw the grievances entangled in them and knew that they must have been targeted by resentful ghosts. Added to how they spoke, Ling Hua’an concluded that they were not good people.

“My intuition has always been very accurate, and I have never made a mistake.”

Jiang Chengyan knew Ling Hua’an’s identity and understood that he must have seen something, but it was inconvenient to say and he found such an excuse.

“Okay.” Lu Hao easily accepted Ling Hua’an’s reason. He really can’t say no to his dearest brother, Ling Hua’an.

Half an hour later, they came to the Licheng Criminal Investigation Team and recorded their statements. Jiang Chengyan handed over the dash cam record to Gao Yuan, and it was already eight o’clock when everything is over.

Gao Yuan hurriedly walked over, he smiled, and said, “Chengyan, you see I’ve been busy until now. Let’s go, I’ll treat you. Let’s catch up.”

Jiang Chengyan patted him on the shoulder, “it’s okay, I know you’re busy. Forget it this time. Next time I will let you treat me.”

With such a serious criminal case in his jurisdiction and two police officers involved in it, Gao Yuan will definitely be very busy. Jiang Chengyan, who is also a criminal investigator, understands it very well.

“Then next time you come to Licheng, you must notify me beforehand, okay?”

“En. Don’t worry. I will take advantage of you!” After that, Gao Yuan said with some difficulty, “however, since you’re involved in this case, I’m afraid you can’t go back for a few days.”

“I understand, don’t worry. I will take a leave from Huacheng to fully cooperate with the case.”

“Okay.”  Goo Yuan breathed a sigh of relief then said, “then I won’t send you off. This case is a bit tricky.”

“No need, you’re busy.”

The group did not stay long and went straight out of the police station. Standing in front of the police station, Ling Hua’an proposed, “It’s getting late. Let’s have something to eat nearby before going back.”

“En, en. Let’s find something delicious nearby. I’m starving.” Lu Hao was the first to respond. He took out his phone to check out the restaurants around.

Ling Hua’an took a step back, he distanced himself from the others and turned to look at the ghosts who had been following them. This man looked about 30 years old, wearing a police uniform, with a black hole wound on his chest and strands of resentment wrapped around his body. His cold eyes stared straight at Ling Hua’an.
