Chapter 73: Old friend, we meet again

Zhao Zihao! Lin Xin’s heart froze.

The original novel wrote how Lin Xinyu had a right-hand man named Zhao Zihao, who was very loyal to him. Even when the former male lead, Xiao Tian, tried to recruit him, he was never swayed.

Lin Xin felt that things weren’t as simple as she thought. The plot was still as it was, otherwise, she wouldn’t have met a lesser supporting character here.

She let go of Lin Xinyu’s hand and walked forward to take a better look at this ‘Zhao Zi Hao’.

Zhao Zihao finished cursing and wiped the blood off his mouth. He was about to leave when he turned around and came face to face with Lin Xin, who was menacingly staring at him.

“Ah!” He jumped back in fright and monkeyishly shrunk into his body. “You…”

“Zhao Qiang!” Lin Xin exclaimed.

She didn’t expect to see him again after four years. Why did he change his name to ‘Zhao Zihao’?

Zhao Qiang immediately recognized Lin Xin. She was still as tall as a bean sprout. The only change he could see was that she had become a bit prettier than when she was in the orphanage.

That unforeseen event four years ago was a nightmare, and he’d never forgotten about it. His years of dealing with people had exposed him to a countless number of betrayals. But seeing his little friend, who had been with him through thick and thin, he felt warmth in his heart.

“What a coincidence.”

Zhao Zihao had an ordinary appearance. Tall, burly and vigorous. He followed behind Lin Xinyu like a shadow.

The story contained only a few sentences about Zhao Zihao and the author simply described his appearance as ‘undistinctive’.

Lin Xin felt that there was an invisible net trapping everyone in. It was as if no matter how hard they tried, they wouldn’t be able to escape this confinement.

If Zhao Zihao was that Zhao Zihao, Wu Ping was that Wu Ping and Lin Xinyu was that Lin Xinyu, then it was possible for all of them to be connected.

Could Lin Xinyu end up dead?

Lin Xin brushed these thoughts away, walked over to Zhao Zi Hao, and grabbed his ear as she asked, “Why did you change your name? Speak up!”

Zhao Qiang was in pain so he bent his body and begged for mercy, “Grandaunty, be careful, be careful! You’re ripping off my ears!”

He flung Lin Xin’s hand away as he used one hand to massage his painful ears and the other to point at Lin Xin. He rose and shouted, “Lin Xin, this is too much! Don’t think that just because I’m afraid of you, you can bully me. The old Zhao Qiang is no more.”

Suddenly, a shadow flashed past and he felt his right wrist turn numb as his hand hung dead. To his surprise, he could no longer control his right hand.

Lin Xinyu stood in front of Lin Xin protectively and looked at him coldly.

Only then did Zhao Qiang recognize Lin Xinyu.

Lin Xinyu had changed. He used to be a weak little boy, but he is now taller than Zhao Qiang. His body was no longer weak, and the way he looked at people now looked similar to Lin Xin’s, calm but terrifying.

How could a slight twist paralyze him? Did this brat eat fertilizer to have grown from a wee grass into this big tree?

Lin Xin turned around and asked, “Why did you change your name?”
