A Gift For Her

Lin Shu injured her foot, so she called the head teacher for two days off and rested at home.

Shen Man went to school alone and while her ears were clean from insults, she felt a trace of boredom.

After a day of classes, Shen Man returned to the Lin Family house.

She opened the door to see Lin Shu lying sideways on the sofa in the living room. Her injured foot was wrapped in layer after layer of gauze like a zongzi, and rested atop a soft pink pillow beneath her calf. Her small foot was high in the air, free from contact with any other objects.

Shen Man entered the room and changed her shoes, then walked to the sofa and asked, “Does your foot feel better now? Did you apply the ointment?”

“If you’re not here, then who’s going to apply the ointment for me?” Lin Shu raised her eyes and asked confidently.

Shen Man put down her schoolbag and stared at the gauze on Lin Shu’s feet, her voice cold, “Didn’t I tell you to apply it yourself?”

“I don’t want to!” Lin Shu shouted. She wiggled her foot and looked at Shen Man arrogantly, “You caused my injury, so you have to take care of me.”

Shen Man’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Lin Shu turned her head and her tone suddenly became a little weaker, “It doesn’t matter, it’s your responsibility anyway.”

“Besides, you are the class monitor, it’s normal to be concerned about your classmates.” She hesitantly added.

Shen Man was speechless, but with a hint of helplessness, she asked, “Where is the ointment? Who bandaged this for you?”

Lin Shu’s fair face showed a triumphant smile, and she turned her face towards the kitchen.

Aunt He came out of the kitchen with a reluctant smile on her face, saying, “I bandaged Miss Lin’s foot because she said her foot hurt. But she refused to use the ointment and insisted on waiting for you to come back.”

“The ointment is in the drawer under the TV. I’ll bring it over to you.” Aunt He said as she walked over to get the medication.

Handing the carton over to Shen Man, Aunt He said with a slightly fearful expression, “Miss Lin refused, and I can’t do anything about her.”

Shen Man nodded and took the ointment.

Aunt He breathed a sigh of relief and hurried back to the kitchen to continue cooking.

Shen Man squatted beside the sofa and opened the cap of the tube. She smiled at Lin Shu and asked, “Do you really want me to apply the ointment for you?”

“Of course, it’s your responsibility.” Lin Shu felt a bit of danger but she still refused to show weakness.

Shen Man sneered softly, and a deep voice emerged from her throat, “If it hurts later, don’t scream.”

Lin Shu was startled as she felt a pain in her foot.

The sound of ‘AH!’ echoed through the living room and could even be heard outside the balcony.

“It hurts…Shen Man, do it gently…” Lin Shu shrank and tried to escape.

Unfortunately, her injured foot was held tightly in someone’s hand. If she struggled, it hurt but if she didn’t struggle it would still hurt.

Lin Shu was in a dilemma.

Her beautiful almond eyes quickly filled with mist and formed round, crystal tears.

The light reflected off of them and glimmered.

Shen Man lowered her head, held Lin Shu’s foot, quickly untied the bandage, then took the ointment and rubbed it on Lin Shu’s foot, and then spread the ointment evenly with her fingertips.

“It hurts…” Lin Shu had tears in her eyes, her voice pitiful.

“Okay.” Shen Man stood up, smiling, put her schoolbag on her shoulders, and asked with a smile, “Do you want me to give you medicine?”

Lin Shu sniffed, the sadness in her eyes turned into anger, and answered firmly, “It’s what you should do!”

“You’re really stubborn.” Shen Man smiled and picked it up beautifully.

Lin Shu stared back unwillingly.

“As long as you’re not afraid of pain.” Shen Man said with a smile, carrying her schoolbag back to her room.

Lin Shu was behind, grimacing at Shen Man’s back.

After resting at home for two days, Lin Shu’s foot injury recovered.

Tan Kai drove to pick up the two of them, glanced at Lin Shu, and joked with a smile, “If you don’t get well, Shen Man will be exhausted taking care of you every day after class.”

“Why is she tired?” Lin Shu pouted, glared at Shen Man in dissatisfaction, and said, “If you become a nurse in the future, you will definitely be complained about.”

“Thank you for your concern, Miss, but I never thought about being a nurse.” Shen Man said with a smile, sitting in the back.

“What do you want to do in the future?” Tan Kai asked.

“I haven’t made up my mind yet.” Shen Man replied with a light expression, not intending to tell others her true thoughts.

“Anyway, as long as you don’t become a nurse, it’s fine.” Lin Shu did not forget to be sarcastic.

Tan Kai maintained, “If Shen Man becomes a nurse, she must be the best nurse.”

Lin Shu snorted and rolled her eyes.

Shen Man didn’t argue, just looked at the scenery outside the window.

Tan Kai drove to the school, a car came from the other direction and drove past his car into the campus.

Tan Kai’s face flashed with anger, and he immediately accelerated to catch up with the car.

“It’s Shao Qi, he actually came to class today.” Lin Shu shouted excitedly, sticking her head out to look at the car in front.

“That person was Shao Qi just now?” Tan Kai frowned, his tone was not good.

“Yes, he is the only one in the whole school who has that cool sports car.” Lin Shu replied happily, hurriedly took out the mirror and tidied up her makeup, “Tell me, does my makeup look good today?”

Tan Kai didn’t answer, his face simply darkened.

Lin Shu turned back and looked at Shen Man, “What do you think?”

“Shushu looks good every day.” Shen Man replied with a smile.

Lin Shu was dissatisfied with those perfunctory words, so she played with her hair and put the mirror in her schoolbag.

The car in front was parked on the side of the road.

Tan Kai also stopped immediately, got out of the car, and strode over, staring at the people in the car condescendingly, “Don’t you know that it is very dangerous to overtake a car in the campus?”

Shao Qi looked indifferent, did not answer, and said coldly, “Get out of the way.”

Tan Kai narrowed his eyes, but did not move.

The confrontation between the two attracted many people to stop and watch.

Shen Man glanced at the crowd, most of them were girls.

Those girls stood together in twos and threes, whispering, not discussing who wins or loses, but who is more attractive.

There are those who support the male lead and those who support the second male lead. No one cares whether the two boys will fight.

Lin Shu pursed her lips and showed the most perfect smile. She walked over and tilted her head sweetly, “Shao Qi, good morning.”

Tan Kai heard the words, blocked Lin Shu’s sight, and said coldly, “This is a matter between us boys, you and Shen Man go to the classroom first.”

Hearing Shen Man’s name, Shao Qi got out of the car and walked in front of Shen Man. He took out an exquisite gift box from his pocket, threw it over, and said coldly, “For you.”

The expression on his face was as indifferent as ever, and after speaking, he left without looking back.

Shen Man subconsciously caught the box.

Suddenly, all kinds of envious and jealous eyes were cast towards her from all directions.

Shen Man raised her head and looked in Lin Shu’s direction.

She saw the bright almond eyes full of jealousy. Her white teeth bit her pink lips tightly, and the bright smile disappeared, replaced by anger.

Lin Shu turned around angrily, threw her bag over her back, and walked away.

Tan Kai followed behind and asked in confusion, “What’s wrong with you?”

“It has nothing to do with you.” Lin Shu gritted her teeth, furious.

Shen Man’s eyes narrowed slightly.

Holding the gift box, she used her fingers to gently toss it upwards, caught it, and then threw it in the air again, repeating this process until the corner of the gift box hit her finger and stops.

Shen Man put the gift box in the side pocket of her bag, then reached out and brushed away the hair that fell on her cheek, walking forward indifferently.

From time to time, there were various voices of discussion floating around, but she didn’t care.

Shen Man entered the classroom and glanced around.

Shao Qi sat in the corner and slept.

Tan Kai was like a normal person, fighting with other boys in the class.

Only Lin Shu, sitting angrily, snorted when she met Shen Man’s eyes, and turned her head in disdain.

Shen Man walked over, stood at Lin Shu’s table, smiled and asked, “Why are you angry? Who messed with you?”

“What’s the matter with you?” Lin Shu turned her head and said in a vicious tone, “I don’t want to see you, stay away from me.

Shen Man curled her lips in a smile, picked a seat farthest from Lin Shu, and sat down.

In this class, Shen Man had no intention of listening.

The black pen in her slender fingers tapped the paper again and again, creating countless small black dots.

The ink smeared  and stained the back of Shen Man’s white, tender hand.

Shen Man was unaware, staring straight ahead with a pair of beautiful eyes, carefully analyzing the current situation in her heart.

Even with their one-night stand, Lin Shu’s sexual orientation is still straight, and her admiration for the male protagonist has not diminished at all.

The drug her(Shen Man) was given that time was also out of hatred. This time, upon seeing the male protagonist giving her(Shen Man)a gift, she(Lin Shu)was so angry that she (Lin Shu) ignored her directly.

In the original book, Lin Shu would have a lot of plots to frame the heroine. Today, she was stimulated, and it is estimated that she will take revenge.

Shen Man stopped the pen in her hand, looked at Lin Shu’s back, and showed a smile of interest.

Lin Shu turned her head back in understanding, with undisguised disgust in her eyes.

Shen Man returned a smile.

The anger in Lin Shu’s eyes was even more intense, she clenched her fists tightly, gritted her teeth and snorted, and turned around.

Shen Man received the message, lowered her head, and opened it.

“Why did Shao Qi give you a gift? What is your relationship with him?” The cute font seemed to carry endless anger.

“I don’t know.” Shen Man replied with a smile.

“How could you not know? Why did he give it to you? Nonetheless a ring!”

Shen Man paused, did not reply, and took out the gift box from the side pocket of the schoolbag.

With a flick of her finger, she opened the gift box, and it turned out to be a beautiful ring.

There is also a small card with a line of words on it, “Shen Man, congratulations on being the monitor, and I hope you can take care of my family—Shao Qi.”

Shen Man frowned slightly.

This wave of actions by the male protagonist and his father made her a little confused.

Combining the plot conjecture, Shen Man thought that this was promoting the feelings of the male and female protagonists, and instantly understood.

In the original book, there are villains, and naturally there are assists. The male protagonist’s father is a powerful assist.
