Clyde has consistently taken inhibitors to reduce the pheromone he emits indefinitely and control his condition. But it didn’t work very well. The strong Alpha nature was in a state of beating the drug.

‘In a word, it means that he is suffering alone. That guy, he’s very stubborn.’

Edith grumbled inside, calling the Crown Prince a stubborn fellow.

Although she has been in this world for several years, the class system has not yet been rooted in Edith’s stereotypes.

Clyde was only a man a year older than her. The perception that he was a prince of high status was superficially learned, and it was unlikely she would accept it with her heart.

‘You just need to have one dominant Omega by your side. Is it that hard?’

She complained for nothing because she was worried about him.

However, she stretched her imagination further to understand Clyde’s stubbornness.

Perhaps when Omega was selected to resolve the Crown Prince’s lust, the opponent might likely become a strong candidate for the Crown Princess.

Anyone would have known what would happen when an Omega was out in a closed bedroom. It was too easy for Clyde to have an unwanted event. Any Omega would accept the Crown Prince with great gratitude.

It made some sense when she recalled the time when he couldn’t accurately discern in the maze garden. The reason for being stubborn might be to prevent unexpected mishaps.

‘Well, it must be difficult. He can’t bring any omega into the bedroom.’

It was also a pity that she could accept his decision in her heart.

The next day in the attendant’s office, someone came to call Edith while she was wasting her time.

Come up to the Crown Prince’s bedroom.

She couldn’t ask the messenger if it was okay, but she had to hide her confusion and obey the order.

There were several physicians and attendants in the bedroom, including a physician who had just finished medical treatment. The doctor’s expression darkened in the subdued atmosphere.

Clyde’s feisty voice could be heard from the inside of the thick veiled bed.

“Take down the veil and leave. You don’t have to snoop around here because my attendant will take care of me and help me.”

“Your Highness, this is not the time to take care of government affairs. We need Omega right now.”

“You keep trying to cross the line. Hmm–”

It was obvious that he was annoyed even without looking at it. The tone and hoarse voice showing an extremely low-pressure state represented that Clyde’s physical condition wasn’t normal.

All but Edith were forced to step down.

The attending physician took advantage of the hustle of the veil being rolled over and glanced at Edith. Then he came closer and lowered his voice.

“You’re a Beta, so it looks like he wants to keep you around. I must say that it’s better than being alone.”

As expected, Clyde was reluctant to bring Omega into the bedroom.

“Ah… so that’s the situation.”

The doctor urged her after her brief sigh.

“His Highness may run rampant. At that time, be sure to call someone even if His Highness doesn’t order you.”

“What do you mean by… rampant?”

“Alpha pheromones that the body can’t handle are also taking over the brain. It’s a state of being a beast, not a human. If that’s the case, His Highness–”

“What are you talking about there!”

He got caught by Clyde. The bewildered physician didn’t say anything and stepped back.

The sound of the bedroom door slamming shut hit her chest.

The footsteps that had been heard from all over the place disappeared, and soon only silence remained.

Judging from the fact that his doctor told her that he was all alone, this situation seemed to be repeated every month. Clyde could have been served by Alpha or Beta during his rut cycle, but he even threw them out. He must have been struggling alone without borrowing anyone’s help.

But she couldn’t believe that he was sending everyone out without any notice.

Edith was perplexed. She didn’t even have a clue where to start.

Standing in the middle of the room, she was confronted by Clyde, who was sitting on the bed’s edge.

The white shirt he wore had no collar. As he lowered her head, his solid, long neck was revealed. The bottom’s simple style also showed his slender leg line without filtering.

This wasn’t the time to look at a man’s figure. This guy’s physical appearance was the problem. She glanced intently at Clyde’s top and bottom single layer of clothes; his dazzling handsome appearance drew her attention.

His condition seemed better than she thought. His hair was combed well and the expression staring into the air in front of him was refined.

“Your Highness…”

She would help him anyway. She needs to take care of him.

“What should I do?”

He had a loose expression. It was as if he was drunk with strong alcohol, but on the contrary, a sharp look like a blade turned towards Edith.

“Come here.”

His bare feet on the carpet spread from side to side.

Clyde’s gaze crossed over to his toes and stared at Edith again. It means come over there.

The ㄱ-shaped knees looked plain at first glance. When a pretentious man sits on a soft chair, he usually sits as wide as that.

However, it was quite strange for Clyde to do this posture. He was a man who always maintained an attitude of royalty. The disorganized legs due to the rut cycle created a subtly decadent atmosphere.

She couldn’t bring herself not to move.

With slow steps, she went and stood in front of the point he designated.

“Closer.”

Edith’s gaze shifted from his seductive fingertips to the man’s thigh as he draped his wrist inside his thigh.

The long man’s fingers curled.

Her feet moved forward without hesitation as if hypnotized.

The legs that were covered with only one thin pair of trousers stretched out and surrounded Edith from side to side. The thick, curved thigh muscles were revealed over the worn clothes.

As he flinched, the muscle fibers split into several strands and fluctuated.

Her chest suddenly tightened. She looked back and had forgotten to breathe.

She took a deep breath belatedly. Her head was spinning because of the lack of oxygen, and it suddenly filled her blood.

However, she still felt stuffy. Was the air in the room cloudy? There was no way the Crown Prince’s bedroom couldn’t be properly ventilated.

Unaware of the Alpha pheromones surrounding her, Edith didn’t know why her chest was stuffy. She breathed heavily and looked anxiously toward the window.

“Why?”

His golden eyes, which were gleaming like a madman, stared at her as if piercing through her.

“I feel a bit stuffy. Would you mind if I opened the window?”

There wasn’t only greed that was biased toward instincts in his gaze. Concealing his intentions, Clyde asked back stealthily.

“Why are you feeling stuffy?”

“I don’t know. It could be because the ventilation wasn’t good.”

He glanced up at Edith. The nape of his neck, like a beast, moved just in time.

“Ugh!”

She felt sick somehow.

It might be because of his strong impression or because she sympathized with his suffering from the rut cycle. Whatever the reason, as soon as Clyde’s broad shoulders were straightened, the feeling of stuffiness reached its limit.

She was suffocating.

His gaze that stared intently was hot.

“Take a breath. It’s okay.”

A familiar touch was placed on her back, and she was dragged towards him.

Clyde’s face was pressed against her abdomen as he crouched down. She didn’t even have time to struggle. His arm tightly wrapped around her, and she met his contoured face.

The two pairs of legs clattered like puppets made of wood. Some parts were bumped and some crossed over.

Edith collided with him like a doll being thrown away. She barely managed to balance herself just beforehand and stand upright. There was a moment of silence at a distance that could neither farther nor closer.

Clyde lowered his head and even held his breath, so she couldn’t read his expression. He was in the form of an Alpha and had red bloodshot eyes.

“Ha, how can this be Beta’s scent? It’s ridiculous.”

He murmured close to Edith’s abdomen. He deliberately hid it so that she wouldn’t hear it.

When Clyde noticed her body odor, it was just the smell of human flesh. However, as the days passed, a faint scent that drove the Alpha crazy was oozing out.

He didn’t disclose this important change casually. He aimed for the right time and guided it to flow in the direction he wanted.

Edith was squirming; it was like being pressured by him, so she wasn’t in a sitting or standing position.

Pushed by the reckless action, she lost her balance and held on to the back of his head.

Her fingers dug into his blue hair.

It was a reflective action and she had no intention to provoke him. But Clyde was shocked as if he had been stabbed by a sword.

Suddenly, the Alpha’s body twitched for a moment.

He tilted his head back with animalistic movements and glared at her with his sullen face.

Strange energy filled the surroundings. It was an area that Edith couldn’t understand.

“Is that a signal for me?”

She became rigid as she could neither hastily pull out her fingers from his deep blue hair nor wiggle freely.

The man’s broad shoulders swung carefully like cowering beast.

It was so horrific, as if he would run and put his teeth into his target prey’s nape. In front of the beast, she held on to her knees, which were about to unravel.

A terrifying silence passed.

After a while, Clyde was able to suppress the impulse that had reached its limit a little bit. He opened his mouth and spewed Alpha’s breath into Edith’s body.

The breath he exhaled at once warmed her navel.

It was a breath hotter than her body temperature.

“Edith.”

The warmth of his breath which rippled like a stone thrown into a lake made Edith shiver.
