Am I Dumped?

(Rose’s POV)

What should I do to save my life?

If a supporting character in a romance or fantasy novel finds out about their destiny, it is an inevitable concern.

A villain or supporting role is merely a tool to make the main character stand out. A romance fantasy novel is made up of three elements: “The Good Defeats Evil, The Main Character’s Plot Armour and Cliche.”

Therefore, there is no use in trying to avoid fate. It is fortunate that the action does not lead to headwinds.

Having read novels all day, I knew it all too well.

That’s why I’m not sad, even though I possessed the body of a supporting female character, who loses her life just before the female lead appears.

Rather, I thought it was a good thing. I wouldn’t have any regrets in life once I fulfill my role in this novel. I’ll do a lot of sightseeing before I get caught up with the plot and just live in a comfortable mind.

“Let’s break up.”

A bouquet of bright yellow roses was pushed right in front of me. Tears welled up in his blue eyes like glass beads. I alternately looked at the bouquet of flowers and the man who shoved it at me.

“What did you just say…?”

“I’ve just realized that you’re way too perfect for me. Please find someone better than me.”

I was being told by the obsessive sub-male lead to break up with him, who is famous for never letting his prey escape once caught.

Wait, hold on.

You’re supposed to kill me.

Belial Le Serenity.

The sub-male lead and the villain of the novel <What Kind Of Flower Are You?>, which became a hot topic as soon as it was published.

He is the owner of the “Silver Hair Office”, which symbolizes noble bloodline. An arrogant man who believes that everything is under his feet.

And as always, bad boys like Belial, who was attractive both in appearance and character, contributed greatly to the popularity of the novel <What Kind Of Flower Are You?>.

“… Are you being serious now?”

“Yes, I’m very serious, Dear Rose.”

In the beginning, Belial’s popularity was overwhelmingly higher than the Duke, who is the male lead of this novel, that’s why I always supported him. Whenever I opened the comment window, there were hundreds of comments that said, ‘Belial, you are my number one-pick’ and ‘Why isn’t Belial the male protagonist?’.

Perhaps the writer was also conscious of it. That’s why whenever Belial appeared, he devoted his soul to the description of his appearance.

His silver hair that glistens from his waist is as smooth as silk, and his features are so harmonious that even the goddess of beauty covets him. His eyes were so blue it was as if you were looking at the winter sea.

There were dozens of other descriptions, but that’s the limit of my memory from the novel.

If the Duke was a handsome man with black hair and red eyes, Belial was a cold, handsome man with silver hair and blue eyes.

However, towards the second half of the novel, the number of anti-fans increased as the past acts of madness and the desire to possess the female lead were revealed.

Belial’s actions were so cruel that even Satan would stick his tongue out. Both of the main characters tried to kill Belial for the safety of their love but,

Belial was the strongest in the world. There was no one who could defeat him in regards to swordsmanship.

In the end, the female and male characters had to gather those who had a grudge against Belial and attack him all together.

It was true that even the final boss meets his end.

Belial, who seemed to be calm no matter what, ended up having his head severed by the Duke.

All the readers cheered saying, “Finally a refreshing scene came out.” but that was only for a short time.

Belial didn’t take his eyes off the heroine until the moment when his head was cut off. In a sweet voice like a confession of love, he whispered.

‘I’ll wait for you in the underworld, my love.’

Even enthusiastic fans, who were already used to Belial’s arrogance, felt defeated by his madness.

By the way,

That Belial, the very same Belial who didn’t let go of the heroine until his very last breath.

“You are as quiet as a flower in the field, as dazzling as the sun in the sky, as graceful as a deer playing in the mountains.”

Is saying all of this to me.

I got goosebumps all over my body, are you caving in now? Even those fans who liked you before, when you were making a fuss will turn into anti-fans if they see the way you are acting right now. Since everyone fell for your trashy appearance before.

I scratched the back of my hand.

“Compared to other men, I… I’m a very insignificant person.”

Tears streamed down Belial’s cheeks once more.

So why are you crying? You never shed a single tear in the original novel. What do you mean you’re an insignificant person? Aren’t you the one who thinks that everything is beneath you?

Now, I had chills as well as goosebumps.

“At first, I thought I could control it. But it gets harder and harder. How can someone be as pure as you…?”

A pure person? An innocent person like me? Do you want to kill me? It’s ok, because that’s what I want.

Thinking about it, I stretched out my hand.

“Belial.”

Belial bit his lips and turned his head away.

“Please let me go.”

“……..”

Your words contradict your actions.  As soon as we held hands, Belial looked as if he had been waiting for it.

“Why do you want to break up all of a sudden?”

“……..”

Belial didn’t say anything. I never thought that this would be easy to say.

I had no choice but to ask even though I knew the answer was unclear.

“Do you hate me?”

“No.”

Belial answered right away. Wow, that’s scary.

Even though he acts like a pushover in front of me, the fact that Belial is cold and handsome, doesn’t change the fact that he used to be the most arrogant villain in this novel.  

Once, I saw him talking to someone other than me, and it was terrifying to watch how cold his expression was. 

Imagine yourself standing in an empty field where the blizzard blows. That’s how cruel he is.

“I would still love you even if you put a sword through my heart.”

. . . Correct. You’re really brutal, even when I’m right in front of you. Why on earth would I want to put a sword in your heart? My heart is not as black as that.

How can a man who doesn’t have the courage to kill himself, kill other people? There were a lot of things to talk about, but now it doesn’t matter.

“Then the reason is…”

“I’ve already told you why. It’s because I love you.”

Belial loosened his hand, which had completely covered the back of my hand, gradually let go.

“It was true that if you really loved someone, you would want that person to be happy.”

Instead of tears, regrets fell from his eyes. Then he immediately got up.

“I’ll just leave. Because I can no longer control my emotions.”

“Belial…!”

“Tomorrow, I will send you a farewell gift. Please accept that much. This is my last act of sincerity.”

“No, that’s not important…!”

“Bye.”

Belial left the cafe after his sudden goodbye. The escort knights standing near the entrance followed him like a shadow.

After I was left alone, I was completely lost.

What the hell is going on here? I still don’t know exactly why, but….

“I got dumped, right?”

Where did the obsessive sub-male go? What the hell is going on?

My mind became as white as a blank sheet of paper as I tried to decipher everything. Since I’m going to die soon anyway I treated Belial well. Of course, I’m not as good as Belial but I did my best.

“Miss Rose!”

Then someone called my name. It was Mira, my hand maid. She said she’d be waiting outside until the date was over.

Mira ran faster, with her hair tied up high. As she arrived in front of me, Mira took a couple of deep breaths and asked with an excited look.

“What’s going on? I saw the Duke Serenity leaving with his face covered.”

Mira, who knew nothing, asked me innocently. When I couldn’t answer easily, Mira covered her mouth with both hands.

“I guess…! Did the Duke propose to you?! Oh my!”

Mira, a romance novel enthusiast, was on the verge of dancing.

“I wonder what it feels like. The atmosphere is extraordinary. It was not enough to book  the entire cafe that you like, that’s why he also bought a bunch of roses for you!”

“…….”

“But why did he prepare yellow roses? Yellow roses are not good in flower language. If possible, he should have prepared red roses which are the same colour as our lady’s hair. The Duke is good, but his taste is kind of lacking in some areas.”.

I carefully called out Mira’s name.

“…Mira.”

“But marriage is going to be tough from now on. Your Mother even said that the Duke has a good face and his family is overwhelmingly better than yours, but he’s cruel. But isn’t that more romantic? If there’s an obstacle, it burns more.”

Mira put her hands together and looked up at the ceiling.

“Oh, I’m so happy. I’m going crazy because I’m happy to live with the two of you. Am I this happy because I’ve always cheered for your love along with the other maids? At the wedding, we will…”

I can’t hear it anymore. Before Mira could finish her words, I said it directly and to the point.

“I was dumped.”

Mira suddenly froze just like me.

“What?”

“I got dumped.”

‘I was in the car.’ Oh, people here don’t know English. I’ll take it back. The bouquet of roses on the table taught me that the current situation is not a dream.

When I reached out and embraced the bouquet, a strong scent hit my nose. As I stroked the smooth petals with my fingers.
