The pain of his breaking wings sent pain searing across Dante's mind but whilst the pain was tremendous it wasn't without purpose. The excruciating pain prevented Dante from losing his consciousness and in doing so only furthered his mad desperation to finish climbing the stairs

9th step

Dante clenched his teeth so hard they were on the verge of cracking. It was only after that that Dante could endure the pressure and pain to make one last step.

"Bang!"

Dante's hand slammed into the floor allowing him to drag his battered body to the top of the stairs. It was only after he completed that Dante was finally relieved of the pressure that had assaulted his body.

"Gasp!"

Dante let out a few desperate gasps as he tried to recover from the recent trial. He didn't know when but all of his dragonified transformations seemed to fade away as well as the mangled wings that came with it.

But even after that, Dante wasn't fully out of the woods.

His body was still in terrible shape with damaged and bruised bones.

Dante slowly sat up as he pulled out a vial from his space ring.

Opening three pills fell into his hand and within seconds, Dante was surrounded by a thick herbal scent.

These were treasures that were hard for Dante, the dragon son of war and the prince consort to acquire.

Gold-ranked alchemical pills.

Stuffing them in his mouth Dante quickly began to circulate his spirit energy as he began to heal his body.

After nearly an hour Dante had finally recovered to some extent. His body wasn't back to its best state and could still use some rest but right now Dante had recovered most of his strength but that was enough.

Dante had already passed such a difficult trial and he highly doubted there would be another of such a difficult trial. If they really set such hellish trials back to  back of each other then the creators definitely weren't human!

With this in mind Dante started walking the path in front of him.

After walking for several minutes, Dante didn't see much change and just simply continued walking through the hallway he had first met at the centre of the stairs. Eventually, after a whilst Dante seemed to notice something up ahead.

It was a giant door that seemed to be overflowing with some sort of defensive inscriptions and besides that, there seemed to be two humongous figures well over 2 metres tall standing guard in front of the door. Although they didn't do anything the figures of the two men still managed to radiate an intimidating presence and just by judging from the overbearing physique of the two men it was clear that they were both accomplished in the art of body refining.

But even if the men could be deemed as intimidating and radiated an overbearing presence, Dante wasn't scared in the slightest and walked up towards them just as confident as ever.

But just as Dante approached one of the men suddenly called out.

"Stop!" called the man in a deep voice

"We need proof that you're actually allowed to enter here."

Hearing this a confused expression appeared on Dante's face.

'Proof? I thought this was just some random trial I managed to stumble across.' thought Dante.

But just by looking at the serious expressions o the faces of the two men it didn't seem like they were joking. Maybe things were not as much of a coincidence as he had originally thought.

Thinking like this, Dante brought out the only thing he had on him that could serve as some form of identification.

Opening his space ring, Dante brought his toke of The Dragon Son of War and handed it to the guard.

As the guard received the token a look of surprise could be seen on his face as his expression finally changed.

'I Heard that the Dragon Son of war had only recently managed to enter the academy but if he has that token then that could only mean one thing…'

Looking at the handsome man in front of him, the guard couldn't help but have a complicated expression as only one thought remained in his mind

'Just how on earth did this kid get here!'

But even with his burning curiosity, the guard didn't stop it from letting him perform his duty.

Sending a shot of spirit energy into the token, the entire toke began to shake before a blood-coloured light began to radiate from the token.

"Roar!"

Suddenly a small, blood-coloured, eastern dragon shot out wrapping around the token before surging back inside.

This time it was Dante's turn to widen his eyes in shock.

'Just what on earth was that.' thought Dante as he looked at his token

Dante had already had the poke for a while but even he didn't know that it had such unique features.

"Your token checks out." said the guard passing it back towards Dante.

You can enter the library and choose a book. Remember that you can only choose one book and that you only have 4 hours to memorise its entire contents."

Listening to the guard Dante simply nodded his head before walking towards the open gate but before he could move the guard to the side that had not spoken up until now suddenly opened his mouth.

"Wait!"

Dante turned to look at the guard who had just called him.

Ever since he had walked in, the guard had not said a word and only stared at him with a piercing gaze.

"What is it?" asked Dante, meeting the man's gaze head-on.

Faced with Dante's fierce gaze the man became slightly embarrassed as he looked at Dante.

"If I'm not being too rude, may I have your hand?"

As soon as Dante heard the question there was only one thought left in his mind.

'What the fuck was this!?'

Fuck! Why was this old man blushing so disgustingly as he asked for his hand!? Has this bastard gone senile!?
