Chapter 21.1: He Was Schemed by Him

A soft 'ding' sound rang out. Qin Yi's mech was fully charged.
The silence in the mine was broken again.
Halls raised his eyes and leered at Zheng Yi'an, "There's no need for Mr. Zheng to be curious about whether my identity is real or fake. On the other hand... I'm more curious to see what Mr. Zheng's mech looks like."
Zheng Yi'an took it out generously, "Are you talking about this?"
The palm-sized mech in his hand suddenly became larger in the mine. It was a black A-grade mech with an ordinary appearance, close to one of the most common types of mech seen on the market.
Qin Yi couldn't help but take an extra glance at Zheng Yi'an. To his surprise, this person actually had two mechs.
"The formidable diplomat from the Alliance, an S-ranked Alpha, but the mech Mr. Zheng uses is only an A-grade mech?" Halls ridiculed him.
Zheng Yi'an calmly nodded and said, "That's right, the Alliance has always treated me badly. Aren't the rumors everywhere?"
Such rumors do exist. Zheng Yi'an has done a lot for the Alliance, but there were people in the Alliance that had accused him many times of wantonly playing with people's hearts and demanded part of his authority be restricted.
Halls raised his eyebrows, "Since that's the case, no one will know even if I kill Mr. Zheng here."
Zheng Yi'an looked at Qin Yi and said unhurriedly, "If you think that it's a good decision to take action in front of Kilia, then you can try."
Halls' gaze flickered, but in the end, he still put away his dragon mech.
Qin Yi tilted his head and looked at Zheng Yi'an even more.
Zheng Yi'an's words were no more than a reminder to him. Was the unpaid 100 million dollars more important, or letting the matter of him having the python mech be known more important?
He's worthy of being someone who works in the Alliance. He may be more troublesome than Zhou Yiqing and Lu Ji...
Qin Yi raised his head and gave a light smile to Zheng Yi'an.
Then I also won't have to feel too guilty when cheating you.
"Mr. Zheng, are you going to charge your mech?"
Zheng Yi'an looked at Qin Yi. The Omega didn't expose his secret, it seems like his affection for Halls has limits.
Zheng Yi'an's mouth hooked up, "Thank you, I need it very much."
He liked cooperating with adaptable people.
In this world, valuing emotions is a rather stupid thing. Dealing with such people would instead be troublesome. It would be much simpler if it was just simply benefitting mutually from each other.
Zheng Yi'an started charging his A-grade mech ostentatiously. Qin Yi also waited patiently for a while.
Qin Yi turned around and sized up the mine in front of him carefully while asking, "Does Mr. Zheng know how these people on the ground died?"
Zheng Yi'an: "They died from fright." He paused, then added, "They strayed away and entered here by mistake and saw my mech. Because the light in here was dim, they mistook it as a monster and got frightened to death."
Zheng Yi'an indeed didn't lie. It's just that the mech they bumped into should be the python mech.
Normal people would also be greatly shocked if they suddenly bumped into this thing in the dark.
No wonder they didn't return to the spacecraft. Qin Yi thought it was unfortunate.
He walked slowly to the fallen security and squatted down before taking the illuminators from their waists.
Zheng Yi'an heard some sounds and turned to look at where they came from. This Omega wasn't like an Omega. He was too calm when facing death, so calm that he could even take away the last functional thing from the corpse. In this respect, they were somewhat alike.
Just when Zheng Yi'an was thinking about this, he heard the Omega ask Halls, "Is there any soil nearby?"
Halls: "Soil?"
Qin Yi replied, "Mn."
"A few days have passed and there isn't a way to bring their bodies back fully intact. The spacecraft also lacks relevant equipment, so we can only leave them here. I've read in books before that during the Ancient Earth period, they would bury people in the soil. The souls would then be at peace." Qin Yi said in a composed manner, then lifted himself with the support of the wall.
Zheng Yi'an was momentarily stunned. This Omega's different from him.
He somehow couldn't understand... why there were people who would integrate calm and indifference with gentleness.
Halls: "I'll go look for it." After saying that directly without hesitating, he left his dragon mech behind and stepped out of the mine alone.
Qin Yi nodded and suddenly squatted down again. He discovered that while standing up just now, he seemed to have encountered some mark on the wall of the mine. It wasn't like the undulating lines on the rock, but more like deep engravings.
Qin Yi moved the illuminator a little. The area that was previously dimmed was instantly illuminated. He saw that the entire mountain wall was full of engravings. The lines of the engravings were extremely deep as if they had been carved with a sharp knife.
"What's wrong?" Zheng Yi'an asked while staring at Qin Yi's figure.
Qin Yi slowly retreated two steps, then retreated another two steps.
He retreated even more... and stepped on Zheng Yi'an's foot.
Zheng Yi'an couldn't avoid it in time. He didn't feel hurt from being stepped on and could only feel the Omega's smell abruptly rushing into his nose.
As soon as Qin Yi looked up, he saw that there were even more engravings on the wall. Meanwhile, Zheng Yi'an only felt the Omega's long and curly hair gently sweep across his neck when he pushed it back. He felt ticklish, weak, and numb.
"There are words engraved on the wall." Qin Yi said softly.
Zheng Yi'an's thoughts slowly returned. He calmed himself down a little and followed Qin Yi's line of sight to the top of the wall.
"Those are words?"
"Seems like they are characters from Ancient Earth."
Zheng Yi'an became even calmer. He stared at the engravings on the wall closely and finally recognized a part of it, "This is one of Kandarati's relics... the engravings on it are the classic symbols of Kandarati's relics. So, they turned out to be the characters from Ancient Earth?"
Qin Yi can't remember most foreign names, but he remembered Kandarati. He had repeated it many times in the past, all just to engrave it into his memory.
"Can the farthest wind reach Kandarati."
This was the critical password for him to inherit the 800 million dollars.
Qin Yi knows that 'Kandarati' is most likely a place's name, but he didn't know where it specifically referred to.
His knowledge was still inadequate, Qin Yi thought regretfully.
Halls coincidentally heard Zheng Yi'an telling Qin Yi a story softly when he came back from digging the soil, "...It was first published as a bedtime story for the children in the Alliance. Kandarati was called the Kingdom of the Gods. The Ancient God had no name. The sky was his body, and so was the earth. He didn't eat or sleep. He had the ability to travel through space and alter time.
Some people think that Kandarati is in the sky. But after traveling through the sky and entering the universe, there was only the endless galaxy and Kandarati was nowhere to be seen.
It was not until some scientists discovered the Kandarati civilization for the first time that speculated that there might really be a country beyond the three dimensions. The reason why we can't see it is because we're in a three-dimensional space and can't see a sight that's beyond that dimension..."
Halls walked into the mine. The dragon mech's tail suddenly swung, causing a large amount of dirt to fall heavily on the bodies. They were completely covered in an instant.
Halls pursed his lips and interjected, "They thought that Kandarati had descended from the heavens after the god of Kandarati fell and broke into countless fragments, scattering everywhere. They finally entered the three-dimensional space and turned into Kandarati relics hidden all over the world. Each relic is a treasure trove."
It's just a bedtime story. Acting as though no one has heard it before?
Halls stopped walking and looked at Zheng Yi'an disdainfully.
Qin Yi ignored the undercurrent between them.
He whispered, "Mn, it's a very interesting civilization..."
That was Qin Yi, who had lived on PanDa Star for 18 years and yearned for an even broader worldview.
"I've finished replenishing the energy source. Do you want to go back now?" Zheng Yi'an asked.
The arrogant crown prince may really just pick a fight if we stay any longer.
He naturally wasn't worried about fighting Halls, but he was worried that this Omega would do something unexpected again and stab him in the back. Especially when his mech seems as if it's broken, always attempting to get close to the Omega.
Qin Yi nodded in agreement, "Mn."
He kept his mech away and used his energy sword to dig out some energy stones, setting them erected. This can be considered as a tombstone for these people who had died an accidental death. He then turned around and began walking ahead.
The two people behind him looked at each other again in silence.
Although Kandarati was just a bedtime story, its relics were real.
Since it was discovered in the Limu Empire, it naturally belongs to them, Halls thought.
Zheng Yi'an similarly had some similar thoughts. He wants to turn this Star into his private treasury.
Halls hesitated briefly after he left the mine.
It wasn't a big deal for him to carry Kilia on his back on the way back. But Zheng Yi'an is someone from the Alliance... he has to stoop down in front of Zheng Yi'an...
During Halls' moment of hesitation, Zheng Yi'an spoke up first, "Kilia, it's a long journey back. Do you want to sit in my mech?"
Qin Yi looked at him, his head tilted, "Hm? Mr. Zheng won't feel distressed about his energy source?"
Zheng Yi'an smiled magnanimously, "It doesn't matter, I'll just come back and replenish it after everything is used up."
Halls opened his mouth. but before he could say anything, Qin Yi successfully boarded the spacecraft and into the cabin under Zheng Yi'an's care.
TL/n: Technically, in the raws, it means that Zheng Yi'an has completely let go of past grievances but not sure how to translate that so I used care.
The A-grade mech swung its arms and legs around and immediately began walking forward. Halls pressed his lips together with great force, his expression becoming duller.
You sat in Zheng Yi'an's mech, but not mine...
But why would Qin Yi care about what others thought? He happily freeloaded and sat in this transportation tool. He didn't produce a drop of sweat even after returning to the spacecraft.
