36. Things Have Disappeared (2)

After taking a deep breath, So-hee’s celebrity crush twin spoke again.

“There was something I wanted to tell you a long time ago.” He said grimly without smiling. “I’ll talk about it when I get back.”

“No. Do it right now.”

“No, I’ll do it when I get back.”

A meaningless argument ensued.

She would continue searching for ways to save him but she already knew that she couldn’t find one even if she thought about it until her head cracked open.

Sohee had to hear what he had to say when he came back.

It was highly probable that she couldn’t talk to Hugh about what he wanted to talk about later on.

The man who didn’t understand her mind stood up and gave a plain greeting.

“I’ll see you later, Lady Ariad. Until then, please stay healthy.”

His slightly wet blue eyes turned as he left the drawing room.

“Please tell me right now!”

Even after hearing So-hee’s cry, he gave her one last look.

God of this world.

Please save that poor extra.

Even if Joshua left the drawing room with a chuckle, Sohee was crying inside as she looked at the mastermind who made this happen.

The man leaning against the wall near the door smiled at her.

In the meantime, So-hee was strangely annoyed with herself forever thinking he had a beautiful smile.

When Joshua approached and circled his arm around her waist as if to hug her, Sohee pushed him away.

He stopped trying and looked down at her even if he could very much force her to do what he wanted.

He waited quite patiently for Sohee’s next move.

“I don’t want to eat. I’m not hungry.”

Joshua’s dark eyebrows were raised in disapproval.

She couldn’t believe she had to witness the death of her favorite celebrity without any means to prevent it.

Completely abstaining from food and drink for this crime when she had also planned it this way wasn’t enough, too.

The anger heading towards Joshua from the start eventually moved on to blaming herself for planting the seeds of this work.

Yes.

Sohee didn’t deserve to eat anything.

“I’ll go to my room and rest.” She said listlessly before passing her husband just like that.

However, the human body was also ironic.

Sohee’s stomach growled, the sound resonating in the quiet corridors.

The clock inside her belly was always accurate.

It would always make a fuss about eating as soon as it was lunch time.

Her stomach growled one more time.

As she closed her eyes in chagrin, Sohee tried controlling her mind.

When it calmed down to some extent, she opened her closed eyes with a rough sniff.

Of course, she immediately shut her eyes tight when she saw red eyes staring back at her.

“Are you hungry?”

The corners of his eyes crinkled when he laughed.

How dare he make fun of her?

“——or not?” He added lazily. “Is the bathroom as urgent as it was then?”

Yes.

The crown prince was definitely teasing her.

So-hee burst into awkward laughter before gently biting her lower lip.

“You want me to take you to the bathroom again?”

“No.”

“Then shall we go eat?”

So-hee forced a smile when she noticed that the male lead was demanding a fixed answer that he liked.

He smiled as if she had already responded to him.

Why did he have to be so pretty?

How annoying~

Whether the food went into her nose or mouth, Joshua didn’t say much despite seeing So-hee squirm under his gaze.

Strange silence ensued throughout the meal.

Ariad proceeded to her room without a word while Joshua went back into his office since he still had work to do after lunch.

They didn’t even formally greet one another before they parted ways in silence.

So-hee, who was leaning against the headboard, suddenly turned her gaze towards the window.

The steel bars had vanished and the breeze entering her room was cool.

She should get used to this change.

However, she noticed that the big tree in front of her had disappeared.

“What?”

Thinking she had seen it wrong, she rubbed her eyes to look at it again but the tree was still nowhere to be found.

When she stuck her head out of the window, she found out that the tree had been cut.

“Haha. He cut this off, as well.”

The innocent tree was also cut down.

It was the male lead’s choice to get rid of anything and watch.

So-hee returned to bed and continued to laugh.

As she stared at the empty space, anger soared again before the feeling subsided.

“Hello, Lady Ariad.”

A young maid whom she saw for the first time knocked and came in to greet her.

The smiling woman bent her waist down to ninety degrees before getting straight to the point.

“I’m Mary. I have been appointed to become Ariad’s maidservant starting today. I look forward to your kind cooperation.”

“All of a sudden?”

“Oh. The person who worked before me was transferred to another place.” The woman, who introduced herself as Mary, smiled. “I heard from the rumors that she was kicked out.”

So-hee’s smile froze in bewilderment.

Mary didn’t care about her expression and just kept saying what she had to.

“I’m the head of our household and I have two younger brothers under me——”

She started reciting her family history that Sohee didn’t even ask for.

“——so I don’t want to be kicked out. I look forward to your kind cooperation, My Lady.”

After finishing cheerfully, Mary bowed politely again.

So-hee laughed at the realization.

As she looked back on the things that didn’t add up, she mumbled quietly.

‘The male lead had gone insane.’
