“I guess mine was missing since I only got one. By the way, who’s the servant?”

So-hee’s eyes were fixed on the blonde woman.

Following her gaze, the noblewomen around her turned their heads.

“She’s someone that Her Majesty cherishes very much these days.”

“That child… Is she  the third daughter of the Eurecia Family?”

“It was said that her mother was a prostitute. How did Her Majesty, the Empress, come to meet such a———-”

Kelly’s earlobes reddened from the unwanted attention.

Still gazing sharply at her, So-hee grinned without avoiding eye contact.

Never look down on the author, Han Sohee.

Ariad’s red lips rose toward the sky while Kelly’s trembled slightly.

* * *

She was amazed when she entered the hall.

The huge auditorium consisted of two floors and chandeliers were everywhere.

As soon as she entered, orange lights shone on the round tables with colorful centerpieces and desserts on top of them located around the platform.

Sohee was guided into her seat while Bianca walked on the red carpet at the center between the glass tables.

Then, the Empress climbed on the podium where white lights fell to begin her speech.

Looking at the perfect specimen of a confident woman, So-hee inwardly thought of how cool she appeared.

Everything would have been perfect if she weren’t hostile at Ariad.

Lost in her useless thoughts as the Queen’s speech got longer, someone tapped her on the shoulder.

When she turned her head, a familiar black-haired man was sitting next to her.

“Joshua? Why are you here?”

Sohee whispered low so that only his ears could hear her.

Moving his chair closer to her, Joshua whispered in her ear the same way. “I finished my work quickly. Sending you all alone here makes me anxious.”

“I am a grown adult.”

“You hurt your head and your memory hasn’t come back yet.”

So-hee felt guilty at the low voice recounting the lies she had roughly told.

It was a lie she used to tell Joshua so that he would tell her all the information about the noble wives who were about to attend the event.

How long will this lie last?

When she gave the man a sideways glance, she noticed that his mouth was slightly raised.

Fortunately, there was no sign of doubt.

Relieved, So-hee looked at the podium again.

The long speech was almost over.

A glimpse of Kelly’s blond hair was visible behind the centerpiece of the artificial flower arrangement while Sohee was seated with the members of the royal family.

Kelly, a mere worker who made the opening ceremony in this auditorium, splendidly was able to take the spot.

Even if she was seated at the seat of honor with Ariad, Kelly Eurecia, an illegitimate child, shouldn’t have been in the same position.

She didn’t have the right and the power to come forward and raise her status.

This was the only thing that seemed to empower Kelly.

“There is someone whom I am grateful for to have helped me a lot in preparing all of this.”

Bianca’s strong voice filled the huge hall.

“Kelly Eurecia.”

The last-minute speech ended with Kelly’s name and people began to rumble.

Everyone’s eyes were fixated on the woman who stood up as if she had been waiting all her life for this moment.

Pure white shoes stepped on the red carpet as she moved forward.

Her steps resembled those of the Empress.

As Kelly stood beside Bianca, her golden hair, belonging to a beautiful image of a heroine, curled in gentle waves under the center light.

She was the third daughter of the Eurecia family.

A poor child with a mother who sold her body to noblemen.

The woman they used to refer to was no longer here.

“It’s an honor to create this kind of event with Her Majesty. I would also like to thank the distinguished guests who attended today.”

A warm voice, resembling the color of Kelly’s dress, rang throughout the hall.

Dark shadows fell on the faces of the members of the Eurecia Family sitting at the corner table.

In particular, Rosaline and Mrs. Eurecia put all their strength into furrowing their brows to make their faces crumple.

So Kelly and Bianca were busy chatting and reciting their gratitude towards each other earlier.

They played drums and celebrated, getting themselves into a frenzy.

Sohee also snorted as she picked up the dessert in front of her without thinking and shoved it into her mouth.

“Oh, and lastly, I want to say thank you to Her Majesty, the Crown Princess.”

Everyone’s eyes were on her in an instant.

So-hee, who couldn’t even swallow the cake in her mouth, glanced up with her puffed-up cheeks.

She faced Kelly as she looked straight at her.

The corners of Kelly’s mouth rose towards the illuminated ceiling, similar to the smirk Sohee had on her face moments ago.

“You worked hard for this event even though you were not feeling well. You taught me a lot of things.”

Bianca continued as if waiting.

“If that’s the case, I can’t leave out a word from the Crown Princess. Please come forward. Also, please explain the upcoming event’s outline that you will handle soon.”

They’re going to put her on the spot and humiliate her.

Sohee stood up, munching the crumpled cake in her mouth.

The soft chiffon cake seemed to be clogging her throat.

Well, what else could she do?

She had to go there first.

Due to her unfamiliar shoes, Sohee’s steps swayed precariously on the carpet.
