It was the day of the women’s school opening ceremony and there was a constant parade of carriages in front of the tall, light-brown, building.

When Sohee got out of the carriage,h her richly-laced deep purple dress and her hair ornament made of artificial flowers instantly attracted people’s attention.

“Oh, I hate it when there are many people,”  Sohee grumbled and headed for the entrance.

As it was the opening ceremony, most of the women there were quite famous in the Upper Society.

Ariad, in particular, was completely alienated from the women, so this place made her feel like she was a fish out of the water.

Joshua, who had been a perfect guardian so far, was unable to accompany Sohee due to some other things so Mary served as her escort, instead.

“Lady Ariad, why are people staring at you too much?” Mary whispered softly.

Ever since Sohee lived as Ariad for a month, those gazes already felt familiar to her.

No wonder, everyone considered Ariad a great seducer of married men if she thought them handsome.

As she returned their sharp gazes, she realized that they must have belonged to women who once lost their husbands to Ariad.

“Mary, people perched on high places are always stared at. We call this ‘the weight of the crown’. Let’s endure this weight together.”

Mary nodded as if enlightened at the words beautifully wrapping up the dirty fight of passion.

From a short distance, Kelly and Bianca were talking to each other as people crowded them.

While watching the scene, So-hee recalled what had happened over the past week.

‘Ariad, Her Majesty has given a message.’

‘What did it say?’

‘Since you aren’t feeling well, Kelly will be entrusted to prepare for the event in your place and you won’t be required to attend at all.’

At that time, her body was almost better but the fact alone wasn’t particularly important to them because they were planning to exclude her from the entire thing anyway.

So, did they plan to make Kelly’s name known through this opening ceremony?

Author So-hee, who was well-versed in creating and resolving conflicts, didn’t think so.

There was something uncomfortable about delegating all the roles of the Crown Princess.

So, as a result of her inquiry through Mary, So-hee’s intuition was correct.

They wrote the invitations’ sender as Ariad McKinley and sent it to everyone.

As soon as she knew that fact, So-hee immediately realized it was a method Mrs. Eurasia used to isolate Kelly from the social world.

Mrs. Eurasia wrote Kelly as the invitation’s sender and intentionally left out a few people.

After the meeting, she went to them separately and told them that she made a mistake because she lacked a lot of food.

Then, she built a friendship with them by putting down Kelly for the mishap.

Kelly, too, had planned to isolate Ariad from society using the way she was treated.

Not wanting her to do so, Sohee told them a few days ago that she would attend the opening ceremony.

“I would have worked hard to embarrass you, but it’s a pity that I’m doing this.”

Sohee glanced at Kelly and Bianca standing at the venue’s entrance.

While filling out hundreds of invitations one by one, she shook her numb wrist a couple of times.

“Hello. Thank you for the invitation.”

“Oh, hello.”

Sohee laughed with her without thought but her mouth was trembling from embarrassment.

She opened her mouth carefully, desperate to know the information about the white-haired noble lady with fine wrinkles on her face.

“It’s Obelin.”

As expected, time cannot be ignored.

The old woman noticed that Sohee couldn’t recognize her just by looking at her expression.

“Oh, Mrs. Obelin. Nice to meet you.”

So-hee, who heard the character’s information from Joshua, pretended to know immediately.

She was the only noblewoman who wasn’t hostile toward Ariad.

Many of the sons she gave birth to were successful, and daughters from noble families hung on to take the seat next to them.

She was a highly-respected wife in the wedding market.

In other words, her opinions were influential in this women-dominated place.

Feeling fortunate for researching earlier by asking Joshua, Sohee immediately continued the conversation by asking how she was doing.

The atmosphere became friendly between the two.

Just in time, she made eye contact with Kelly behind the Marchioness.

Her blue eyes were bewildered, embarrassed.

Kelly must have deliberately omitted invitations for some of the most influential wives.

By the stupefied look on her face, Mrs. Obelin must be one of them.

Another lady from the carriage came and asked.  “Hello, Lady Ariad. I received two invitations with different handwritings, so I was confused about what to show the knights in front of us. May I know why there are two invitations?”

“Oh. A servant had sent invitations in my name and I think she made a mistake. There was no way of knowing whom she didn’t send them to, so I gave the invitations all over again .”

That’s right.

That was the reason why Sohee’s wrist became so numb.

In the first place, she dealt with it in a foolish way to prevent such a mishap.

She piled up over a hundred sheets of paper and wrote them herself one by one.

Marchioness Obelin, who was listening, intervened in the conversation.
