Circumstances Behind the Scene

Rohee's POV


"What did you just say?"

Katia asked that with a look of disbelief.

Rohee was also so shocked by what Zekudo's have just said that it looks like she still hasn't caught up with reality.

That's why Katia's question is a really great help for her.

"Like what I've said, that's not the first dragon that I've killed but the fifth one."

Rohee and Katia then looked at each other.

After all they didn't misheard what Zekudo have just said earlier when he claimed that he killed five dragons.

It is certain that dragons always moves around and it's also quite common that the information that came from the gate about the number dragons are wrong.

So I though that we will have to face only one dragon for each of us but it seems that I was wrong!

But I'm not really surprised at that, what I find unbelievable is the fact that he has killed five dragons in a short period of time.

It doesn't matter that you are an S-class Knight but it's really dangerous to fight multiple dragons at once and on top of that he did that without any help.

As there's also a possibility of being attacked from behind or from the side or being killed by a fireball.

Also it's really foolish to fight with multiple dragons single-handedly.

No, but with his ability maybe fighting multiple dragons at the same time is possible.

It seemed that Zekudo is really strong.

That's why when he said that he had killed five dragons looks like it's not a lie and it looks like I couldn't doubt him anymore.

I can't believe it and I don't want to admit it but I'm fascinated by his overwhelming strength and his swordsmanship.

Even if what he said is a lie about defeating five dragons, I had no choice but to admit that he is really indeed an S-class Knight... No, I have to accept him as my captain.

"Oh, do you want to see the evidence that I have killed the five dragons? The corpses are over there, if you'd like I would guide you to their location."

Was it the sharpness of Zekudo's long blade or was it because of his own skill?

"How long did it take you to kill the first one?"

Katia asked that and Zekudo opened his mouth while scratching his cheeks.

"Probably about 20 seconds."

"Wha...."

Rohee and Katia were both surprised by what Zekudo have just said.

They already expected that kind of answer but they were still unable to say anything when he actually said it.

The reason for their surprised was that because both of them killed their dragons a little over a minute but he had killed one dragon in just 20 seconds.

"I was just lucky to find the first dragon while I'm walking looking for a dragon, when I found it, the dragon started breathing fire but I absorbed it using [Black Hole], then I used [Chaos Enchanment] on my weapon then I slashed it."

Zekudo's explanation was hard to understand because it included the names of dark magics but it seems that it's true that he hunted a dragon for 20 seconds.

For Rohee, when she killed her dragon that was her personal best record.

It was a really great hunt for her as she didn't made any unnecessary movement.

And yet it was easily surpassed.

By a first-year student by the name of Zekudo.

If I'm being honest, somewhere in my heart I was so shocked by that fact.

It was probably because I was older than him and I had more experience as a knight than him.

That's why right now my heart hurts; a very tightening pain.

Of course, I didn't show my emotion in my face and I remained compose.

Katia was probably feeling the same way.

She is stiff as ever but I can see more shadows in her face than usual.

Zekudo's POV


Rohee and Katia haven't spoken a word since then.

The journey back to the gate was the most silent journey I had experienced.

The back of the two of them walking in front of me were somewhat dark and I can also feel that they are releasing an aura of "Don't talk to me.".

Thanks to this, I couldn't ask them whether they recognized me as their captain or not.

It was such a pity that I couldn't have a conversation with two S-class beauty.

But I was left alone, soaking up the afterglow of our dragon hunting date, which had ended so easily and in vain, so I just let out a sigh.

It can't be helped.

I will just go home.

When I thought about that suddenly I couldn't see a thing.

"What!?"

There was no way I could mistake that way of talking.

The owner of the soft, smooth and gentle hands was my homeroom teacher.

"You're Flambert-sensei right?"

"Yeah, that's a correct answer."

Flambert-sensei removes her hands on my eyes while she said that happily.

I'm really glad I was born in Kingdom of Elgandi.

I'm fine if Rohee, Katia, or Flambert-sensei became the captain but I would hate it if my captain is an old bastard.

"Sensei! I'm really glad I was born in this country!"

"Uhmmm... What happened to you all of a sudden?"

"Well, I just suddenly thought of that."

"Fufufu, that's really weird."

Flambert-sensei laughs.

Note: 1. I'm quite confused about the POV of this since the last chapter, the POV on this chapter is also shifting from 3rd Person POV to Rohee's POV.

2. Zekudo was surprised with how the both of them talked to him because they've said "Otsukaresamadeshita" meaning “Good job” or “Thank you for your work” and in that word they've included the word "sama" which is a word that shows respect.
