Inextricable

The light in the office went out, and the gasps of a man and woman overlapped in the darkness, as warmth spread around them.

“Don’t move.” Huai Jing’s arms tightened around Xu Xingxing, who wanted to escape from his arms. 

Xu Xingxing’s eyes were misty and a lovely blush had spread on her body. She arched her body slightly, let her back unstick from the man’s chest, and asked in a trembling voice, “Aren’t you already…”

“Hmm.” Huai Jing didn’t let Xu Xingxing leave his embrace, further tightening his arms around her.

Trembling, Xu Xingxing sat on Huai Jing’s body, and the close fit between the two allowed her to truly feel the burning desire of the man’s body and his strong heartbeat. She struggled to no avail, but being unable to free herself, had to bite her lower lip and suffer. A sense of shame accompanied her, along with the afterglow that had not yet subsided in her body, so Xu Xingxing closed her eyes. 

“I’m not wearing a condom.” The man said suddenly as he put his chin on Xu Xingxing’s shoulder, and kissed her ear intimately.

“I’ll take medicine,” Xu Xingxing turned her head to look at Huai Jing and promised him.  

Her promise made Huai Jing’s kisses stop abruptly, and he gradually moved away from her body. While leaving, he glanced at Xu Xingxing’s body with smiling eyes.

Her whole body was red, and it was kind of white with pinkish red. Because of the exercise just now, her back was damp and a little sweaty. The messy strands of hair on the back of her neck were attached to this white and pinkish delicate skin, which was quite charming in a different way.

When Huai Jing suddenly withdrew from her, like a kitten, Xu Xingxing got frightened and wanted to arrange her clothes but couldn’t do so because Huai Jing took her into his embrace again. He didn’t care about Xu Xingxing’s struggle and wrapped his arms around her, leaving no room for her. Xu Xingxing pouted after struggling in vain, to which Huai Jing chuckled with pride at his victory, and bit her earlobe lightly.

“Hiss…” Xu Xingxing gritted her teeth, and let out a small cry.

“That’s not what I meant.” The man’s teeth rubbed against her earlobe, he smiled softly, and his hot breath brushed against her ear making her shiver.

“I mean, I didn’t wear a condom, so I blocked it for you to prevent it from leaking out.”

Hearing Huai Jing’s flirtatious words, Xu Xingxing froze, and Huai Jing smiled again.

Xu Xingxing’s body felt hot and red, as if it had been burned by fire, and her mind was blank as she sat on Huai Jing’s body in a trance. She was eager to be rid of his hold, but was worried things wouldn’t go as she had hoped.

“Also… it can’t be like this all the time.”

“Yeah.” Huai Jing looked down at her flushed body again, with a frivolous smile in his eyes. After this casual answer, Huai Jing reached out and took Xu Xingxing’s cell phone. He turned on the screen, and the time displayed on the screen was past nine o’clock.

She had been here for an hour. 

Huai Jing handed the phone to Xu Xingxing after locking the screen and asked, “Do you still want to get that query of yours answered?”

“Yes.”

As she could not understand that paragraph, she had no option but to rely on Huai Jing for this matter.  

Unlocking the phone, Xu Xingxing found the picture, pointed to the paragraph she didn’t understand and told Huai Jing, “Here…”

“Where?” Huai Jing raised his eyes slightly, and leaned lazily on the back of the chair, as if he didn’t see it.

Xu Xingxing: “…”

Pointing to the screen, Xu Xingxing said, “This…”

Before she could finish speaking, Huai Jing raised his hand and grabbed it.Xu Xingxing didn’t let go of the phone, so she was pulled back into Huai Jing’s arms. The man put his chin on her neck and asked in a serious tone, pointing to the mobile phone in her hand, “Here?”

Huai Jing’s aura instantly surrounded Xu Xingxing, and it seemed as if her heart was on a roller coaster. Her eyes stayed on the spot the man was pointing to, and her voice trembled in response, “En.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Xu Xingxing realised that her body was subconsciously struggling to get up, for the excessive intimacy between the two made her a little embarrassed, it was even worse than when they were on the bed, and she couldn’t control her heartbeat.

While she was struggling like a kitten whose belly was being scratched, 

Huai Jing looked at the string of German words on the screen, while holding her tightly with one hand. When Xu Xingxing looked up at him, he lowered his head and bit her earlobe again, admonishing her in a deep voice, “Don’t move, Senior Huai is going to give you a lecture.”

The woman’s eyes widened, and her body collapsed into his embrace like a puppet with its strings broken.

It was already ten o’clock by the time Xu Xingxing got home.

On the way back to the apartment from the taxi, her legs were a little wobbly. Huai Jing had been in her body for too long, so she still felt that there was something in her body, blocking a certain area, and that it would be better to stay home.

Mimi welcomed her when she entered her house, but Xu Xingxing’s back was so sore she couldn’t squat down, so she bent her body and touched Mimi’s head, before walking straight into the bathroom.

When the hot water fell on her sore body, it felt like flower petals falling on her in heaven. Xu Xingxing closed her eyes to feel the temperature of the water, and recalled the lingering feeling when the two bodies were connected in her mind. Feeling cold all over, Xu Xingxing opened her eyes, and felt ashamed of herself for thinking such things.

After her shower, Xu Xingxing dried herself and went to the bedroom. She didn’t turn on the lights in the bedroom, and remained standing at the door, the darkness gradually pervading her body like her belated shame.

Not only her body, but her heart also seemed to have been warmed by Huai Jing today. So when Xu Xingxing felt that feeling, she was a little scared, because she found that her body had fallen in love with the feeling of being with Huai Jing. Even her heart was now changing.

She was slowly being changed by him, and though this change was something she had expected at first, when she really felt the change, she started panicking, because this change was full of unknowns.

What will happen to us in the end?

Xu Xingxing didn’t have time to think too much about this question. She turned on the light in the bedroom, took out her mobile phone and continued to read the documents. The drowsiness of her body overwhelmed her, so after reading just two pages, she closed her eyes and fell asleep.

The next day, Xu Xingxing reached the office earlier than she usually would, because she had to go through the document. Xu Xingxing began to read the document and after a while she heard Chen Wanwan’s voice, so she raised her head and called out to her, “Wanwan.”

“Here I come.” Chen Wanwan threw her bag on her desk, walked quickly to Xu Xingxing’s side, put her hands on her shoulders, and asked with a smile, “What are you doing?” 

“Morning.” Xu Xingxing greeted her with a smile, pushed the phone in front of her and pointed to the picture on it.

“This is the information from Lao Huang’s office, please help me look at this place…” As she said that, Xu Xingxing tactically swiped her finger towards the side of the document.

“Don’t you know what this…” While Chen Wanwan was puzzled, her eyes followed Xu Xingxing’s fingers, and finally, they fixed on the two semicircular marks.

A flash of lightning thundered through Chen Wanwan’s mind. She frowned, stared at the picture and asked, “Where do you think this is?”

“Old Huang’s office, this is his desk,” Xu Xingxing replied.

Chen Wanwan suddenly raised her head, her already wide eyes opened even wider.

Xu Xingxing pursed her lips slightly, smiled and asked, “What’s wrong?”

“Damn!” Chen Wanwan shook her head and sighed, “No wonder Lao Huang and Li Miaoxue have been leaving so late these past two days…” 

“Ah?” Xu Xingxing looked at Chen Wanwan in confusion.

Chen Wanwan beamed with joy. She sent the picture to her WeChat, then hugged Xu Xingxing, and said, “I’m going to meet Sister Jialin. As for this… you don’t even understand it, hehe.” Saying that, she ran into Yan Jialin’s office.

Seeing this, Xu Xingxing’s lips moved, then she lowered her head and glanced at the pictures on her phone with red ears. Pulling up the turtleneck sweater to cover her chin, Xu Xingxing lowered his head and continued to read the information.

She really didn’t understand the meaning of this thing before, but after last night, she understood clearly.

However, in front of Chen Wanwan, she still pretended not to understand. Chen Wanwan knew her well, and if she showed that she understood these things, Chen Wanwan would definitely ask her how she knew.

How did she know? Of course she wouldn’t be able to explain it to Chen Wanwan.

Xu Xingxing could not predict what Chen Wanwan would do, but she knew that Chen Wanwan would definitely use that photographic evidence to win this battle. 

That afternoon, the translation department held a departmental meeting. Huang Qiansong proposed to let Chen Wanwan be the next deputy team leader. Except for  Li Miaoxue’s face, which was not looking very good, no one in the translation department refuted this proposal. Since there were no objections, after the meeting, Chen Wanwan’s proposal to be promoted to deputy team leader was submitted. She was very popular in the office, and since this promotion was a great occasion, everyone congratulated her and asked her to treat them to dinner with a smile. Chen Wanwan expressed her affirmation, and after pulling away from the crowd, she put her arms around Xu Xingxing’s shoulders.    

“Deputy Team Leader Chen, please treat me to dinner,” Xu Xingxing looked at her with a smile and said.     

Chen Wanwan looked at Xu Xingxing with an expression of great kindness in her big eyes. She knew that Xu Xingxing had contributed to her promotion this time. And the reason why she helped her so much was also because of her feelings for her. It was really Chen Wanwan’s blessing to have such a good friend in her life.    

“That’s necessary.” Chen Wanwan hugged Xu Xingxing, brushed away the cold and sorrow in her mind, and said with a smile, “I will invite you after work today, and we will get drunk today!”    

Xu Xingxing agreed with a smile. After the meeting in the afternoon, she was called away by Yan Jialin. The last project was gradually unfolding, and their translation department had to continue to follow up. Following Yan Jialin, Xu Xingxing learned a lot at work. This time she read the materials and prepared well, and performed very well. After the task was completed, she got into Yan Jialin’s car, and the two returned to the company together. Although she had followed Yan Jialin to the scene twice, Xu Xingxing was still a little nervous when she was alone with her. Fortunately, Yan Jialin didn’t talk much, and even when she did speak, the topic was still about work. Xu Xingxing coped fairly well, and the tension in her heart gradually eased after she arrived at the company.   

“Why did you think of translating the section about jade quality in the materials? Have you read the book?” Yan Jialin asked.

The paragraph she was asking about was exactly the one Huai Jing had helped her with yesterday. Yan Jialin asked about this passage alone, and Xu Xingxing’s heart tightened at her question.

Naturally, she couldn’t say that Huai Jing taught her. Xu Xingxing licked her lower lip and lied to Yan Jialin, “A teacher at the university helped me with it.”

Yan Jialin raised her eyes, glanced at Xu Xingxing, and didn’t ask further.

She parked the car in the underground parking lot and told Xu Xingxing, who was taking off her seat belt on the co-pilot, “There is a project with a follow-up in Tianwen City, you come with me. It is expected to last for three days, so prepare your luggage in advance.”
