Chapter 7: Dr. Fu’s Aesthetic (1)

The appointment with Fu Yanzhi was at 9:30 in the morning. It usually took more than half an hour to go to their agreed meeting place from where they lived.

At 9:30 a.m., Ji Qingying changed her shoes and opened the door. As she stepped out, the door on the opposite side opened from the inside.

As she heard the sound from the door, she raised her eyes.

What entered her vision was a man in a black trench coat, paired with a shirt of the same color. The top button of his shirt was left open, revealing his attractive Adam’s apple. And further up was a face that was a little restrained, but still very handsome.

As a designer, it’s already a habit for Ji Qingying to check out a person’s clothing. And in the case of Fu Yanzhi’s outfit, she would give it 98 points.

His matching black outfit wouldn’t make people feel dark and gloomy, instead, it invoked a sense of curiosity about him that was both forbidden and mysterious. And that slightly open collar was just enough for the finishing touch.

The only thing that was missing on him was a pair of glasses.

Noticing her lingering gaze, Fu Yanzhi looked at her and decided to break the silence.

“Are you okay?”

“Hmm.” Ji Qingying withdrew her bare eyes and lightly whispered. “Let’s go.”

The two of them entered the elevator and went directly to the underground parking lot.

Once inside the car, Ji Qingying quickly stretched out her hand to fan herself. She was feeling a little hot.

“Have you had your breakfast yet?”

“Yes.”

Ji Qingying gave Fu Yanzhi a sidelong glance, paused, and then withdrew her gaze. Lowering her head, she went on to check her phone. She spoke to Rong Xue regarding matters of their work.

Since it was a weekend, the road was not very congested. Shortly after, the two of them finally arrived at the department store without any problems.

The place that Ji Qingying chose was quite big. Everything here was of the same brand. It was both simple and clean much to her liking.

As the two got out of the car, Fu Yanzhi swept a glance at her. “What do you need?”

JiQinging’s eyes started to wander around and at the same time, she said, “Let’s look around first. I need to get some lamps and kitchen supplies.”

Then, a second after, she asked, “Have you been here before?”

Fu Yanzhi just nodded in response.

Ji Qingying lowered her gaze and spoke in a shallow voice, “Then, can you lead the way and tour me around?”
Fu Yanzhi didn’t speak for a while. He only stared at her for a moment. His gaze was faint, eyes dark and bright, and when he looked at her in the eyes, he was able to see through all her overflowing thoughts.

Ji Qingying didn’t shy away from his gaze, instead, she let him measure her up. Her thoughts were very visible and open. There was nothing for her to hide.

A few breaths later, Fu Yanzhi said, “Let’s go to the second floor first.”

At his words, Ji Qingying let out a sigh of relief.

“Okay.” She quickly agreed.
Probably because it had just opened at ten o’clock, there weren’t that many people in the store this time around. Ji Qingying quietly took out a cart from the side and obediently followed behind Fu Yanzhi. Once they reached the second floor, what greeted them was a sight of warm home decor.

In order to give the customers a sense of experience and authenticity, the kitchens, bedrooms, and so on, were all arranged in a home-style set up for all to see.

Ji Qingying had already made a list last night so she could quickly choose the things to buy. It’s also more convenient that way.

The two of them leisurely strolled around, and once in a while, everyone would occasionally glance at them.

Not to mention that Ji Qingying was still wearing her usual eye-catching qipao today. The simple yet elegant white laces in her ensemble added a touch of uniqueness. The long lantern sleeves, a low neckline that revealed her fair swan-like neck, a slit right at the calves… Her overall appearance exuded a feeling of “inexplicable desire”, stunning and somehow turning those who looked at her speechless.

And just next to her was Fu Yanzhi in all black. The pair balanced out and complemented each other with their black and white outfits that were amazingly well-matched.

Seeing that a lot of young women were looking at Fu Yanzhi, Ji Qingying was unable to bear with it anymore.

“Doctor Fu.”

Fu Yanzhi looked at her in the eyes.

“Your choice of clothing is quite stylish for today.” Ji Qingying simply commented.

Fu Yanzhi only raised his eyebrows and waited for her next words.

Ji Qingying didn’t disappoint him and told him directly. “Just now, those two little girls looked at you three times.”

“Yeah.” The man calmly walked several steps forward, and using his nonchalant and clear voice, asked, “Then, what about you?”

Ji Qingying: “…”

She choked. She never expected that he would return the question to her. Her lips moved as she looked at him in amazement. Then, she suddenly smiled.
“I’ve looked at you repeatedly that I can’t even remember how many times I did it.” And with a smile still on her lips, she asked in curiosity, “How did you know I was looking at you?”
The underlying meaning was——

How do you know I’m looking at you if you’re not also looking at me?

“……”

Fu Yanzhi didn’t even feel the slightest bit of embarrassment upon being seen through by her. Instead, he lightly said, “My senses are just a bit sharper.”

Ji Qingying: “…”

The two continued forward. When they walked past a small room, Ji Qingying suddenly stopped for a moment.

When Fu Yanzhi followed her line of sight, he saw a little girl along with her mother, happily taking pictures inside.

The room was the kind of room that most of the girls liked. There was a sofa, a small coffee table, and a TV in the middle, and two white cabinets on either side. Looking in further, there was a white lace curtain hanging on both sides with a little bulb of lights also hanging on it. It was very girlish in style.

However, Ji Qingying didn’t particularly like this kind of style, yet she stood there watching.

Fu Yanzhi withdrew his gaze from the mother and daughter pair, lowered his eyes and looked at her.
