When Zhou Jianchen got into the taxi, he put on the sunglasses and dropped the smile.

He never had the patience to deal with such scenes and he had used it all up today.

He didn’t know why he did it, as if he did it unconsciously which was simply baffling.

The driver was still chattering about his wife, daughter and even his old mother’s fondness for him. Having no choice but to continue dealing with it, Zhou Jianchen’s eyes were already full of impatience but no one noticed since they were obscured by the sunglasses.

He just set up an easygoing idol persona at the airport and had to go on in front of others.

The thought of himself being tormented so much for that woman made him feel even more irritable. She was obviously the one who ran off to get married without a word and without the care of others’, so why did he bother about her? Divorcing from a wealthy family was her business. Being photographed by reporters and written without basis was also her business. In the end, what does it have to do with him?

The cellphone’s screen lit up again and glancing at it, it was Sister Shao again. She had made no less than 20 calls and one could imagine how utterly angry she was. Unbeknownst how frenzied the news about him was trending on the internet now yet he knew very well what he was capable of.

He was simply not in the mood to take care of these now. What to do since it’s already done and he will still do the same if given another opportunity.

The cellphone kept ringing, followed by WeChat pop-up messages. Zhou Jianchen did not want to look at it anymore, so he turned it off and threw it to the side.

The driver was talking enthusiastically about the TV drama he had watched him starred in and Zhou Jianchen listened indifferently with his head facing the window. The traffic was heavy outside but his mind somehow just recalled the scene of him and Liang Yin looking over each other through the crowd at the airport just now.

At that time, Liang Yin looked back at him from afar while he just stood there and looked over at her from a distance …

His heart was throbbing at that moment.

**********

An hour and a half later, Zhou Jianchen finally arrived at the entrance of StarLight Media Group. After several autographs and taking a few photos with the driver, he was finally able to leave with his luggage.

Someone had already picked the luggage up for him and people kept calling out ‘Brother Chen’ all the way.

The personnel in StarLight had long sensed Zhou Jianchen’s special-standing in the company. At first, they just thought the reason he was highly valued by the big boss was because of his outstanding status in the entertainment industry, but they only realized later that he is the company’s other boss. The big boss’ last name is Zhou whilst his too which they originally thought was just a coincidence, but who knew they are basically brothers.

Zhou Jianchen has never disclosed for so many years. Not mentioning the outsiders, even many in the company didn’t know it either. Hence, so many people were surprised when it was made public last year.

Zhou Jianchen, however, never has that self-awareness. He will never come to the company if nothing happens. As for the board of directors meeting, just don’t expect him to participate.

He came here this time simply because he really couldn’t let the taxi send him home.

Before he even had time to walk into his office, Sister Shao had rushed over with someone in tow.

Seeing her fierce appearance, Zhou Jianchen did not want to go back to his office, so he pushed open the side door of a vacant conference room and walked in casually.

Knowing that it was inevitable, he might as well get it over with, and thus he didn’t even bother to choose the place.

Sister Shao quickly followed suit and indeed, the lecture began once the door was closed.

“Zhou Jianchen! Are you into the habit of switching off the phone! You even took a taxi! Why don’t you walk all the way back!”

“I haven’t even settled with you for those things you posted arbitrarily on Weibo before. But turning around, you created such a big ruckus for me again. You’re just intentionally not allowing me some peace, are you!”

“Can’t you even see what the situation is now! That Xu Lili has yet to be found but you’re making such a large-scale publicity and kicking up this ruckus, just so that everyone knows about it? !”

“And you even had group photos taken to mark the occasion? When have you ever been so in touch with others? Why haven’t I ever seen you being so cooperative at events before!”

“ ….. “

Sister Shao is somewhere in her thirties or forties. Wearing the high-heels shoes with a classy temperament, she was an actress before but changed her profession to become a talent-agent. Since then she has been unstoppable. Shrewd and daring, others would be scared when she lectured and she didn’t stop even after half an hour.

Yet Zhou Jianchen was not afraid of her. He just sat in the swivel chair letting her scold and curse him.

He had expected it already earlier.

The cellphone in his hand was turned on again and he absent-mindedly flipped it over without any expression.

Sister Shao was even more furious seeing his unyielding appearance, “Tell me what madness are you suffering from! Why did you want so many people to know you are at the airport! Why must you take the taxi back? Where the hell did Ah Zhao and Ah Xian go?”

Zhou Jianchen was already in a bad mood and with Sister Shao kept on lecturing now, he became impatient again.

Just when he was about to retort back and stood up to leave, a text message popped up. The hand that was swiping through Weibo slipped and the text message was tapped.

— “Hello, this is Liang Yin. Thank you for today.”
