"B-Brother, have mercy!"

"Hey, the two of you, come with us!" Interrupting their conversation, a man in a police uniform approached and spoke.

Leng Yan's face instantly changed as her gaze scanned the now isolated area, surrounded by police who were apprehending individuals one by one.

Letting out a sigh, she revealed her identity, showing her badge.

The officer, Hu Yan, glanced at it, his expression transforming as he stared at Leng Yan's face once again before saying, "You can go, but this man must stay! The cameras have recorded everything!"

Upon hearing this, Zhang Wei raised an eyebrow but remained unfazed, while Leng Yan furrowed her brow with concern.

Hu Yan sneered, staring at Zhang Wei with disgust. 'Using your connections to cause trouble, huh? I despise those who rely on their family background or connections to wreak havoc in the city as if they own it. I'm determined to teach you a lesson.'

"Arrest him!" he shouted at his subordinate, pointing to Zhang Wei.

Hu Yan, the chief of the station, had a close relationship with the bureau chief of the city.

As there were only two police stations in the city, this area fell under his jurisdiction.

Naturally, he couldn't arrest Leng Yan, who held the position of deputy chief at the bureau, but for Zhang Wei, he showed no mercy.

Huang Kai, who was aware of Leng Yan's family background, obediently followed her instructions, but Hu Yan seemed ignorant of her influence.

Anger flushed Leng Yan's face as she watched Zhang Wei being handcuffed.

However, her frustration was interrupted when Zhang Wei suddenly let out a light chuckle and effortlessly broke the handcuffs with a *Click!*

"What!?" The officer attempting to apprehend him, as well as Hu Yan, were left stunned.

Under their shocked gaze, Zhang Wei took a step forward and grabbed the officer by the neck, strangling him.

The sight of numerous guns being pointed at Zhang Wei did not deter him.

"Chief!"

"Chief!"

"Put the chief down!"

Leng Yan, panicked, stepped forward and yelled, "Zhang Wei, release him!"

Hu Yan's expression changed, pure horror seeping into his face as he struggled against Zhang Wei's tightening grip around his neck.

Zhang Wei's now turned golden eyes seemed to be staring into him like a predator, ready to devour him at any moment.

"Argh!" The chief gasped for air as Zhang Wei maintained his firm hold.

Meanwhile, a yellow liquid trickled down Hu Yan's legs, causing Zhang Wei to furrow his brow at the unpleasant odor.

Eventually, he tossed the chief aside.

"Boom!"

"Chief!"

The onlookers rushed to help Hu Yan, whose back had been slammed against his car.

Zhang Wei couldn't help but smirk as the crowd grew larger, with some even requesting backup.

However, Leng Yan intervened, shouting for everyone to back away.

She then pulled out a card and flashed it towards them. "He is with the NSA! Are you trying to go against the country!?" she yelled in frustration, displaying Zhang Wei's flashing black identity card with "NSA" written on top and "Mystic Division" written at the bottom beneath his name.

Hu Yan squinted his eyes as he observed the identity card, coughing violently as a stunned look crossed his face.

Gritting his teeth, he hastily got into his car, slamming the door shut.

Taking advantage of the situation, the deputy chief of the station, Zhu Yu, stepped forward. "Sir, we apologize for the chief's rude behavior!" he said, sneering inwardly at Hu Yan's folly.

'Offending the country... the chief must have lost his mind,' he thought. But this was a golden opportunity for Zhu Yu to replace him, and he wasn't about to let it slip away.

So, he spared no efforts in currying favor with Zhang Wei.

Today's incidents would undoubtedly tarnish Hu Yan's performance and put his position at risk.

Depending on Zhang Wei's influence, there was a high chance he would be suspended.

And when that happened, who would be the one Zhang Wei named as the replacement?

Zhu Yu saw himself as the natural choice.

Little did Zhu Yu know, Zhang Wei couldn't care less about either of them.

Zhang Wei glanced at Leng Yan and remarked, "You took quite a lot of time," as he took back the card and other documents from her. Inwardly, he thought, 'She was surprisingly efficient, and she's affiliated with the NSA? This woman needs to be re-evaluated.'

Leng Yan stared at him dumbfounded. "Did you even give me any time!? You started beating people randomly!" she retorted.

In truth, she had come here today to hand over these documents to Zhang Wei.

Yesterday, he had not only abruptly ended their phone call with Leng Mei, but also threatened her until she promised to present him with a surprise gift to appease his anger.

Unbeknownst to Zhang Wei, these documents were meant to be the gift.

Of course, Leng Mei had other motives for creating those documents.

She had prepared them long ago but had never intended to give them to Zhang Wei, knowing he would use them for nefarious purposes.

However, yesterday, she had been forced to unleash her trump card in order to placate him.

Zhang Wei didn't respond to Leng Yan but squatted down near the trembling Tang Shen, "Hey, Gorilla, you came here for Ye Feng today, right?" he asked.

Tang Shen, shivered, his voice trembling as he replied, "B-Brother, I didn't come for anyone today! Please let us go. We promise we'll never show our faces again, and we'll even compensate for the damages!"

He was on the verge of wetting his pants.

What in the world was happening?

Didn't Wang Chonglin say that Lin Ruoxi had no connections? What the hell were these high-status people doing here?

Before, he had thought Zhang Wei was bluffing, but now he was certain that even if Zhang Wei killed them, no one would care.

The mere thought sent a cold shiver down his spine.

"Shut up!" Zhang Wei yelled in frustration, causing Yang Lei to flinch. "Just tell me, did you come here for Ye Feng today or not?"

"Y-Yes," Tang Shen nodded meekly, not daring to provoke the wrath of the dragon before him.

The Grim Reaper was staring at him, what could he possibly do?

Zhang Wei let out a satisfied smile as he stood up. "Okay, release them," he ordered.

"But sir?" Zhu Yu tried to retort, but the gaze from Zhang Wei sent shivers down his spine, and he immediately obeyed.

"Didn't you hear him? Are you all deaf? Release them already!" he yelled.

Tang Shen, now freed, looked at Zhang Wei with a mix of complex emotions.

Zhang Wei glanced at him and said, "I'll take you to Ye Feng. You came here to beat him, right? Make sure to break his legs and hands!"

Tang Shen's expression turned to astonishment, followed by a realization.

With hesitation, he asked, "Brother, are you and Ye Feng enemies by any chance?"

Zhang Wei smirked and gave an ominous reply, "If Ye Feng can still stand after the beating, I'll break your legs!"

Tang Shen felt a chill run down his spine and nodded.

Internally, he was screaming, 'WHO THE FUCK IS THIS YE FENG?!'

Not only did he have the audacity to offend the Wang Family, but now he had gotten on the bad side of this Grim Reaper as well!?
