Master Of Myths

Chapter 193 - A Sudden Move On The Enemy Board

"So what was that all about?"

"Well I told of an infiltrator getting to these parts so whatever I am chasing had to fit the bill, otherwise they would easily figure everything was a lie"

"You do realize your elaborate show caused tremendous damage to the land right?"

"Nothing compared to what the Land Kraken could have done if it wasn't led astray, consider it repaying the human race's grievance"

There was nothing Latvia could say to that, indeed it was them who were in debt

"Speaking of which, do you need a hand"

"Don't you already know the answer to that?"

Indeed she did, after all, it was her who kept an eye out for the human race's situation, already noting that the troops of the new inhabitants of this world were far stronger than they should be, and much more diversified in abilities, the claims of them having more than two classes were already confirmed, scary as that fact may be

'So how many classes does he have?'

She, and the other two wondered, the synergy between classes was no joke, just having two instead of one may allow someone to overpower creatures of higher level, much less three or four

"If everything is going well then you shall remain here for the time being correct"

"Sadly not, even though it's easier for me to send my followers to battle the head of the mist I would still like to be present, lest they use some sort of mass killing techniques or such trickery"

It was true, both sides have yet to reveal their true cards, the mist naturally hid a ruler who was far more powerful than all the humans on the battlefield, at the same time both the ruler and Hortus, as well as Genus, Insania thought humans were keeping their members hidden as well, only humans knew how weak they really were, bar the existence of YuJu and his group

As long as the status quo was kept as is then the mist would retreat with its army overwhelmed and the enemy's power unknown, something all sides keyed in on

"If there is nothing else I'll go tend to my 'wounds'"

"You may leave"

With that YuJu exited their sight, wiping the normal expression on Aminta's face, replaced with a deep frown

"Verbrand"

"Yes, I also felt it this time"

"I, as well, came to notice it"

All three were in agreement this time, that evil energy radiating from him was no illusion, no doubt every other general had sensed it as well

"Perhaps it is the mist? I don't see this friend going rogue with his temper"

"He is not acting normal any longer, nothing like his normal self, rather than a gloomy halo around him he carries himself with pride and unending joviality, the most problematic thing is…"

Aminta's hand touched upon her forehead to ease the growing headache

"He isn't even aware of the change himself yet"

Now to the important question, should they inform him of the matter, or watch as he overcomes it on his own? That was a choice needing much debate, for it might affect his path, his thoughts, and their relationship, proving to be a difficult decision

.........

'I'm really in the mood for some rinea'

Meanwhile, unaware of the newest headache he caused the iron fist leader and her two confidants, YuJu was walking toward his residence with a relaxed gait, wanting to spend a little bit of time enjoying himself before going back to the human world where things bore him to no end these days

Joining him on the walk was the hidden Witness, as well as 'Ellis'

"Master is such a brute, always forceful with his punishments"

She said, words loud enough to reach the guards who would more than likely whisper among each other speculations of what she meant, at least that's what 'her' time with the humans taught her, unknowing of how dull and tight lipped these tree men really were

Only when they were in the confines of the mansion did the redhead slowly morph into the parasite's Scitoc form, barreling into the nearest fruit in ravish hunger, the heavy injured might not hamper its mobility but they put heavy restraints on its vitality, needing rest and nourishing food to slowly replenish

"So, what is the kitty up to"

YuJu asked whilst blowing on his hot rinea

"Noting munch, jus' somu check up mission"

It answered, mouth fully stuffed with food

"My room?"

"Yea-huk!"

As it chocked YuJu thought about what to do here, if anything at all

"Guess I could leave things the way they are"

"Cough cough! Well, if you could, maybe have something for me to bring him? I kinda get the feeling he will snap someday if I return empty handed again, no doubt my neck would follow suit"

"Would it make sense for someone who has mastery over space to store things in his room?"

"No…"

"Then don't worry, it's not like he could really lay a hand on you either, the last thing they would want after seeing that fight is getting on my radar"

He took a sip, enjoying his hot beverage and forgoing the matter altogether

The next morning came, and he had a nice stroll around the terrace in the name of checking for any hidden traces of the Witness, then went back to his residence and prepared to leave, keeping an eye over the battle was of para importance even if all evidence pointed toward enemy retreat

But as YuJu started making his way out the parasite suddenly called for him

"Master!"

"Hmm?"

"That kitty-i mean Gremm has called for the maid just now"

"How odd, calling for the spy as soon as the owner arrives home, sounds like an emergency"

Seeing as the matter might be important he decided to accompany the maid and watch the meeting up close, easier than having to go through the trouble of informing Aminta and getting the surveillance seed planted

Thus, the mix of shadow and parasite dressed as a normal maid as well as the unseen YuJu and his Witness went through the tunnels, appearing before the feline general as one person when in reality four people came to see what he was up to, or more precisely, what Genus Insania was up to

"That was quick, did you forget that the man has returned?"

"No general, everyone is sleeping because they are tired"

"I see"

Shrugging the matter off just like that Gremm reached into his pocket and handed her a cube with many holes in it

"This is?"

"None of your business, I only want you to plant it somewhere where no eyes can reach, forget about it after that"

"Alright"

"That's it, you're dismissed"

He turned and left ending the very short and uninformative meeting, forcing the parasite to return with the cube in confusion

Upon returning it was about to diffuse its form but a strong hand griped on its shoulder, stopping it from doing anything

The unseen hand guided it to an unused corner in the mansion's garden where it let go of it, confusing the parasite to no end

'What are we doing here?'

It asked itself, looking at the place where nobody ever came….

'Oh'

Finally getting the silent message it started digging dirt with its bare hands, burying the cube, and returning to the mansion, only then did YuJu appear before her

"What was that all about Master?"

It turned to him hoping to get some answers about that mysterious object

"Bug Box"

"What?"

"That thing, is a Bug Box, the one in your hands particularly housed parasites"

"And we buried it because?"

He friend heavily at the question, or more precisely at what he would answer it

"Bug Boxes tend to be connected, like communication nodes connected through a central output station"

"Uhh…"

It showed an awkward confused face, what was all that stuff he was talking about? Communication nodes and whatnot, it didnt get it

Seeing the confusion he recalled that the parasite didn't get to spend time with humans before the apocalypse, explaining the lack of knowledge regarding their devices

"Basically, it can transmit information like how you would with your parent parasite, but is also capable of communicating with its fellow Bug Boes the same way using the main Box as a transmitting point"

"Ohhh"

That was easier to understand

"So Master didn't want it to see me transform since it would just inform the rest and blow my cover"

"Yes, our problem lies beyond that however"

His recently uncaring face started to show signs of heavy worry, thoughts churning for the first time in a while for ways to counter the situation they were put in with the enemy taking an unexpected move out of nowhere

'If I leave it be it means that the majority of Hortus would be under Genus Insania's watch, as well as my mansion, if I expose it then it would be tantamount to igniting the sparks of war early on'

The former meant giving up a huge part of his time and exposing too much information to keep them thinking he knew nothing, the latter however meant he would be facing enemies he had no way of fighting yet so early into the silent war

'It's not like I have a choice here'

It was so obvious which one he had to pick that it wasn't even a choice anymore
