My Dragon

Chapter 54

Chapter 54: Hospital

Nan HuaiLin opened his eyes and found himself lying in a single room. Needles were stuck on the back of his hands, and the clear medicine was slowly flowing into his body, effectively relieving his discomfort.

The ward was silent. Fei Cheng wasn’t present.

Nan HuaiLin sat up, turned his head, saw the cell phone on the bedside table and took it to call Fei Cheng.

Just after the call, the door of the ward was pushed open and Fei Cheng walked in with big steps.

“You’re finally awake.” Fei Cheng walked to the bedside, carefully hugged him and asked with concern, “Are you still uncomfortable?”

Nan HuaiLin shook his head. “I want to drink water.”

There was a water fountain in the ward, so Fei Cheng took a disposable cup and got a glass of warm water and fed it to him personally.

After half a glass of water, Nan HuaiLin felt much better.

“Where have you been?” His voice was still a little muffled.

“I went to see the doctor, who said it was just a common cold and fever.” Fei Cheng felt a little guilty. “It’s my fault, I shouldn’t have taken you to the sky at night to blow the cold.”

“What are you talking about?” Nan HuaiLin scolded. “I had a great time last night. I’ll remember it for the rest of my life.”

Fei Cheng reached out and touched his face, which was slightly red from the fever. His eyes were full of pain.

Nan HuaiLin asked, “How long does it take to finish the infusion?”

Fei Cheng said, “There’s still one more bottle.”

“I want to sleep,” Nan HuaiLin yawned a little. “I want you to hold me to sleep.”

Fei Cheng then took off his shoes, got into bed, carefully took him into his arms and softly asked, “Are you hungry?”

“No,” Nan HuaiLin turned on his side, half lying in his arms, with his head resting on his shoulder and spoke with little strength, “I just want to sleep.”

“Go to sleep,” Fei Cheng kissed his slightly hot forehead.

“Mmm.” In the space of two words, he was already a little drowsy.

It was after eight o’clock when the infusion was finished.

The fever had gone down and his body wasn’t uncomfortable, so he began to feel hungry.

“What do you want to eat?” Fei Cheng asked.

Nan HuaiLin thought for a moment. “I want to eat hot pot.”

“No,” Fei Cheng said. “You’re just getting better. You can’t eat anything too spicy.”

“Then why are you asking me?” Nan HuaiLin grumbled with laughter.

“There’s a Korean restaurant in Chaoyangmen that serves good beef bone soup,” Fei Cheng said, “And it’s pretty close to our house. How about it?”

“Okay,” Nan HuaiLin said. “I’ll do what you want.”

After leaving the hospital, Nan HuaiLin realized something was wrong, “Hey? Where’s our luggage?”

“I left it at the train station,” Fei Cheng patted the duffel bag on his back. “It’s okay, all the important stuff is here.”

Nan HuaiLin knew that his sudden fainting must have scared Fei Cheng, which made him forget to take his suitcase. Suddenly, he remembered that when they first met, he fell into Fei Cheng’s arms in front of the elevator at the company because he had a high fever from the rain.

But it was strange, he’d always been in good health, how could he faint when he had a fever?

It must be that he had been indulging too much lately, causing his body to be emptied, which was why he was so weak and collapsed at the first sign of illness.

“What are you thinking about?” Fei Cheng asked.

Nan HuaiLin shook his head. “Nothing.”

Fei Cheng touched his face. “Do you still feel sick?”

“I’m fine.” Nan HuaiLin said. “Don’t ask me all the time.”

“Why?” Fei Cheng raised his eyebrows. “Do you think I’m nagging you?”

Nan HuaiLin smiled and said, “A little.”

Fei Cheng gave an arrogant “hmph” and turned his head away from him.

Nan HuaiLin came closer to him and lowered his voice to whisper in his ear, “Honey.”

The corners of Fei Cheng’s mouth couldn’t help but turn upward, but he hastily pressed it down.

Nan HuaiLin then called out again, “Husband.”

Fei Cheng finally turned back to look at him, not smiling, “What?”

“Nothing,” Nan HuaiLin said with a smile. “I just wanted to call you.”

If there wasn’t a taxi driver in front of him, Fei Cheng would have wanted to punish him properly.

“I suddenly realized,” Nan HuaiLin added. “That I have a superpower.”

“What superpower?” Fei Cheng asked curiously.

“Super…” Nan HuaiLin trailed off. “I super like you.”

Fei Cheng froze for two seconds. A smile bloomed on his face, and directly pressed the person into the seat and kissed him.

The driver glanced back twice in the rearview mirror, smiling and thinking, It’s good to be young.

Half an hour later, the cab arrived at its destination. When he entered the store, Fei Cheng asked for a small box, ordered beef bone soup, conch soup and a few signature dishes, but deliberately instructed for it to be made lighter.

The two people were hungry, so when the food arrived, they were in a bit of a hurry to eat. Halfway through the meal, a waiter came in and asked for an autograph. Nan HuaiLin responded to the request, first signing an autograph and then taking pictures together.

Nan HuaiLin smiled and said “Thank you,” before he remembered to look at Weibo.

When he opened Weibo and clicked on the homepage, he was a bit shocked.

The post he sent out this morning had more than a million shares and comments, and even more than five million likes…This was really over-the-top!

When he clicked on the comments, the first hot comment was from Shen Chong.

[Shen Chong: I kicked over this bowl of dog food!]

Nan HuaiLin laughed and continued to scroll down.

[Yan HuaiLin Fan: April Fool’s Day has changed the date? Why didn’t anyone inform me?]

[LOL: It seems… It’s a man’s hand?!]

[I want to be pampered by you: This must not be true!!!!!]

[Zero: The second I swiped this tweet, my heart broke to pieces.]

[Huainan girl never admits defeat: No matter who it is, this person must have saved the galaxy in his last life!]

Nan HuaiLin moved his fingers to reply: [The person who saved the galaxy in his last life was actually me.]

After the reply, he put down his phone and concentrated on eating.

After eating, they took a taxi and left. By the time they got home it was after ten o’clock. After a long day of tossing and turning, both of them were very tired, so they took a shower together and went to bed.

In the middle of the night, Fei Cheng woke up abruptly.

The person in his arms was as hot as a furnace, and he couldn’t wake up, only moan in distress.

Fei Cheng immediately carried Nan HuaiLin to the hospital.

It didn’t take five minutes to run from the Dongfang Mansion to the Union Hospital in one breath.

When Nan HuaiLin had an infusion, Fei Cheng realized that he ran out in his undershirts, did not even bother to wear a shoe, but he wrapped Nan HuaiLin very tightly.

Nan HuaiLin was lying on the hospital bed, unconscious.

Fei Cheng gently held his hand, lowered his head and pressed his forehead to the back of his hot hand, heartbroken, panicked, blaming himself, and wanting to slap himself twice.

“Mmm…”

A faint, dull moan came to his ears. Fei Cheng looked up abruptly and asked in a very soft voice, “Wife, are you awake?”

Nan HuaiLin slowly opened his eyes, blinked twice, looked confused, and asked in a muffled voice, “Why…why are we in the hospital again?”

Fei Cheng said, “You have a fever again. Even worse than this afternoon. 39.5 degrees.”

Nan HuaiLin struggled to sit up, and Fei Cheng hurriedly got up to help him.

“Why are you…” Nan HuaiLin was surprised. “Did you just dress like this and run out?”

“Isn’t it very stylish?” Fei Cheng joked. “The rate of return is 100 percent.”

Nan HuaiLin looked up at the infusion bottle, “Go home and put on some clothes before you come over, the infusion won’t finish for a while.”

“No,” Fei Cheng said, “I have to be with you every step of the way.”

Nan HuaiLin knew he couldn’t be persuaded, so he put him to bed and rested his eyes in his arms, as he had done in the afternoon.

This fever was so similar to the one last year, Nan HuaiLin thought drowsily, the same sudden high fever, the same repetition…

! ! !

A thought flashed through Nan HuaiLin’s mind like a bolt of lightning, and it scared Nan HuaiLin almost out of his soul.

“What’s wrong?” Fei Cheng asked in a bit of panic, as he was keenly aware of the difference in the person in his arms.

Nan HuaiLin sat up in shock from his dying illness, and looked at Fei Cheng with a frightened face. He opened his mouth but couldn’t utter a word.

“Where do you feel sick?” Fei Cheng held his shoulders, his voice trembling slightly from nervousness. “Don’t scare me!”

“Fei Cheng…” Nan HuaiLin finally found his voice, and said with great difficulty, “It shouldn’t be…but am I pregnant again?”

Fei Cheng didn’t react for a moment. “…What?”

At the first word, his eyes widened in disbelief and surprise, and he stammered, “No, it can’t be. San it? It’s…How…how can that be…”

Nan HuaiLin said, “Last time, I had the same thing. I had a high fever for three days in a row, and after a short time, I started to feel nauseous…”

The more he said, the more he felt his guess was right, with a tearful face he said, “Didn’t you say that dragon eggs are hard to conceive? Didn’t you say it depended on 99% of your work and 1% on my luck? You were simply lying to me, weren’t you?”

“Baby, don’t get excited,” Fei Cheng was at a loss for words. “This is my blind spot in the knowledge of reproduction. I have to call my brother and ask him.”

He had just reached for his phone when the screen lit up. A call came in, and the caller ID was “Brother.”

It was a godly coincidence.

Fei Cheng answered immediately, “Brother, I was going to call you…”

“You’re not home?” Fei Zheng interrupted him. “I’m at the door.”

Fei Cheng froze. “You’re back?”

“Mn, I finished the paperwork in advance.” Fei Zheng said. “Where are you?”

Fei Cheng said, “Little Lin-zi has a fever, we are now in Union.”

Fei Zheng was silent for two seconds. “Then I’ll take the dragons to Yanxi Villa first, and you guys can go straight there tomorrow.”

“Okay.” Fei Cheng suddenly remembered that he hadn’t asked his question yet. “Brother, you come to Union first, it may be a big deal.”

“What’s the big deal?” Fei Zheng asked.

“I can’t tell you over the phone.” Fei Cheng said. “Come over and talk to me in person.”

After hanging up the phone, Fei Cheng explained, “My brother came back early with the little dragons and is now at our doorstep. I asked him to come over and take a look, he’ll definitely know if you’re pregnant with your second set.”

Nan HuaiLin nodded helplessly.

Fei Cheng looked at him and hesitantly said, “Wife, if you’re really pregnant again, would you… would you be happy?”

Nan HuaiLin was now at a loss for words, and his emotions were extremely mixed. After a long pause, he shook his head gently. “I don’t know.”

Fei Cheng avoided the infusion tube and hugged him, softly reassuring, “Don’t be afraid. Husband is with you.”

Nan HuaiLin wasn’t afraid. He was just…He didn’t know how to describe it, but it was just an overall mess.

Fei Zheng arrived sooner than expected.

“Brother, I…”

“Don’t you say anything yet.” Fei Zheng interrupted him and stared straight at Nan HuaiLin. His expression changed several times before he finally said in a deep voice, “You’re pregnant again.”
