Even if it was just a small injury, it was still a big matter to him.
“It’s just a small injury. We don’t have to go to the hospital,” Gu Chuyan said.
His big palm landed on her head. He patted her head and said lovingly, “Wen Shui isn’t around so you have to go to the hospital today. Don’t be afraid; I’ll keep you company.”
She raised her head and met his dark black eyes. She felt her heart stopping. Something seemed to be seeping into the depths of her heart as his hand touched her head.
“Okay.” Gu Chuyan stopped resisting.
Xiao Mohan stood up and opened the wardrobe. He took out a coat and placed it over her shoulders. Then he carried her and walked out.
Gu Chuyan lay in his arms. She grabbed his shirt gently and looked up. His face was sharp and angular. His thin and sexy lips were pursed tightly and his expression was stern.
“Xiao Mohan,” she called his name softly.
“Yes?” Xiao Mohan lowered his head to look at her in his arms. She was blushing. She looked like she still had a fever.
He placed her in the passenger’s seat and touched her forehead. “Why are you so hot?”
When he touched her, Gu Chuyan felt a string of warmth flowing into her body. She took a deep breath.
“I’m fine,” she said.
Xiao Mohan raised his hand and pulled her coat tightly around her. He put on the seatbelt. Gu Chuyan’s body shrank. He was very thorough in his actions.
“Is this how you treated ladies in the past?” Gu Chuyan whispered.
Xiao Mohan was stunned. He looked at her seriously and pondered for a second before replying, “There are no ladies in my family.”
“Huh?” She was surprised.
An indifferent smile appeared at the corners of Xiao Mohan’s lips. He looked at her intently. “I should say that there weren’t any ladies in my family in the past. Now, I have one.”
Gu Chuyan blushed. She didn’t dare to look at him so she lowered her head.
He walked around the car and climbed into the driver’s seat. Then he drove towards the city and headed straight for the hospital. Once arriving, he opened the passenger’s seat door. Gu Chuyan wanted to climb out but he carried her up.
“I can walk,” she said.
“No need for the trouble,” he replied. He carried her and walked in quickly. He enjoyed this moment.
He carried her all the way to the director’s office. A doctor walked in. After putting on his gloves, he pushed his spectacles up and looked at the two of them.
Gu Chuyan was a little shy. She didn’t like hospitals. This was a place where people left the world. It didn’t feel good.
“Nice to meet you.” Gu Chuyan greeted the doctor politely.
“Lie down,” the doctor said.
“Okay.” She lay on the bed. The doctor palpated her stomach and asked, “Does it hurt?”
Xiao Mohan saw a bodyguard outside the door. He turned and went out to converse with the bodyguard before coming back.
“Boom.” He pulled the doctor up and blocked Gu Chuyan.
“What are you doing?” He looked at the doctor.
The doctor took a few steps back to stabilize himself. His spectacles dropped and the lenses broke.
“Who allowed you to touch her?” Xiao Mohan asked sternly.
He brought her over to check her forehead wound. Yet this doctor was eyeing his woman? This was outrageous.
“Ouch.” The doctor stood up with his hand on his waist. He couldn’t afford to offend a VIP patient.
The doctor dealt with the pain and felt around for his broken spectacles. He squinted as he stared at the couple and asked, “Mister, how am I supposed to examine her?”
