Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 293 - Threat

Shane had also nocked an arrow on the bowstring of his bow before he started to pull it back.

At the same time, he stood up and exposed himself as the archer next to him did the same.

Both circulated mana into their bow simultaneously as Shane mumbled,

"Aim for the forehead, right between its eyes."

The archer just nodded his head, not sure why Shane did not want him to target the vulnerable eyes of the Hellfire sabertooth tiger. He realized a moment later that Shane had said so because of him.

'I need to contribute to the kill too, otherwise, the system won't register that I finished my mission!'

Thus, the moment Shane had moved, the archer followed suit as they circulated mana through their bows in order to strengthen them while activating their bows' individual effects.

They revealed themselves, yet their mana fluctuations and entire existence were unnoticed by the small group of the Destar race as they were fully focused on demonizing and controlling the Hellfire sabertooth tiger.

Just when they hear two *surr* noises resound through the area three 'thwack' sounds followed suit.

Wind brushed past one individual from the Destar race and he sensed that his life had almost been eradicated, only to look at the Hellfire sabertooth tiger that issued a painful roar before it went completely silent.

There were two arrows imbued right next to each other into the Hellfire sabertooth tiger's skull which had killed it without giving it the time to feel too much pain.

A moment after he had shot the arrow at his target, Shane had stored his bow away as Cosmo, who had emerged next to him, opened a Spatial portal.

Once Shane saw that the archer had shot his own arrow too, he dragged him through the spatial portal.

After they emerged out of the spatial portal, Cosmo activated his [Space Jump] ability to further increase the distance from the group of the Destar race further!

Only when they had reached their group that was several hundred meters away from the Destar race did Cosmo stop manifesting spatial portals.

At the same time, the archer couldn't help but smile as he happily said "I solved the mission!"

This caused Shane to nod, yet, he was unable to smile as he hurriedly replied,

"Let's run! I don't think the group of the Destar race is strong enough to kill all of us, but it would be foolish to attack them right now!"

There were multiple other reasons why Shane wanted to retreat too, but the most apparent was that the Destar race was probably the reason for most of the demonized peak, or even Superior peak-Awakened stage beasts to freely roam around the human shelter inside the radiant mountain ring dimension.

As such, it was relatively safe to say that they wanted to scout, or maybe even hinder humans from expanding inside the radiant mountain ring dimension!

Maybe there were other things Shane had to pay attention to as well, but the most apparent reason was definitely the dimension's value!

Because he and the Starlight guild returned straight to the human shelter without a single detour, they had only required six days to arrive.

Yet, what they hadn't expected was the fact that the shelter had increased the number of stationed guards once again.

The government had already done so some time ago, thus there was a likelihood that they knew something that was publicly disclosed yet. Other than that, Shane couldn't think of a plausible reason that would make the government increase the number of guards once again.

Based on the sheer size and amount of groups Shane could see around the shelter wall, he felt that something was off.

If he had to estimate the rough number of guards that had been stationed within the Radiant mountain ring dimension, Shane would probably say that it had to be in the 10,000s!

This number was way higher than the number of guards stationed outside every single shelter within the Basic dimensions.

As such, he rushed towards the shelter hall only 20 minutes later.

The shelter captain was a woman who seemed to be in her 20s which indicated to Shane that she was stronger as she had to be the strongest among all stationed guards.

At the same time, she looked extremely young to be the strongest shelter captain.

It was rare to come across ordinary guards that were both talented and strong within the Basic dimensions because most guards were incompetent or didn't really care about cultivating their strength to the peak.

Among the military, there were only a few elite units that were different, and Aisha's unit was at the peak among those!

If Shane's senses were not malfunctioning, the woman in front of him was likely comparable to, if not stronger than Jack, who had already crossed a mana purity of 80%!

This was great to notice because his next words would probably cause a commotion.

When Shane entered the shelter captain's office, the young woman looked at him as she lifted her eyebrows.

'Isn't that the young man who got famous at the mana awakening event?'

However, instead of asking such unprofessional questions, she regained her senses before asking,

"Hello, what is the matter of your concern?"

She knew that it was not easy to pass her secretary, who was fully aware of the bulk load of tasks she had to complete on a daily basis.

As such, Shane's information had to be important.

"I think the demonized beasts that roam around the adjacent areas of our shelter are controlled by the Destar race! While helping a friend of mine in solving a mission, we found them demonizing our targeted beast. The dark mist is exactly the same as one can see after killing one of the demonized beasts in our surroundings!"

Shane expected the young shelter captain to be astonished or even shocked, but against all his expectations she just mumbled.

"Is that so?"

After that, she typed a few things into the system's holographic screen that had appeared in front of her before responding to Shane who had been waiting for her to give him some kind of reaction.

"That's definitely bad then. But, you have not, by chance, heard anything about the gathering of many beast groups that inhabit the surrounding areas, right?.... That would have been too easy after all...."

Apparently, there were worse problems than the Destar race, and Shane had just been oblivious to that fact.

'Gathering of beast groups?'

"Does that mean there are multiple groups of beasts that have gathered...and they're all nearby our shelter?? Is there any more information, if that's the case, can you share it with me?"

Shane knew that he did not have the permission to receive more information than he had already obtained from the female shelter captain.

However, he could also tell that she was staring at him, which made Shane assume that she knew him from the photos.

As such, she was also aware of the fact that he had attended the mana awakening event, and that he was acquainted with the 12 Uniters!

Shane's assumptions had been absolutely correct, and she thought that there was no harm in telling Shane the truth.

"Based on the intel we've acquired, the beast groups led by the Golden Centipede King, Bloodlust thunder wolf, Four element eagle, and the Greater Phantom tiger have gathered in the highlands within the mountain range!

If sources are to be believed, there were several million Elite stage beasts and more than 100,000 Awakened stage beasts!"
