Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 370 - Better Than Nothing

It was unexpected that a participant of the Primordial tournament underestimated another, and Shane couldn't help but feel weird.

However, at the same time, he had a hard time suppressing a grin.

Being underestimated was quite entertaining in his opinion.

Certain opponents would be taken by surprise when someone like him, who was underestimated, would use his entire strength at once, in the blink of an eye.

The moment the battle started, Shane's opponent from the Witura race ascended into the air, where he started to accumulate mana in order to start an onslaught of attacks in quick succession.

Meanwhile, Shane only exerted his [Light steps] movement technique and the [Mana membrane] skill.

His Invincible Scimitar was already unsheathed and firmly gripped in his hand, as he emerged below his opponent.

Because Shane expected to be attacked at that moment, he fixed his gaze on his opponent.

Several dozen lightning spears had already manifested around him, and the Witura was doing nothing but conjuring more long-range attacks before he could shoot all of them at once.

Only then would he enter close combat.

In the end, this was not a bad tactic, but it didn't include what Shane might be doing.

As such, when the lightning spears were shot towards him at a rapid pace, Shane was unable to suppress his smile anymore.

He released his entire bloodlust-killing-intent at once that enveloped him tightly while transferring a huge amount of mana towards himself.

After he circulated a large margin of it through the body, his speed accelerated further.

The lightning spears were fast, but due to the [Light steps] movement technique at the superior proficiency, he would be more than fast enough to evade them.

This was mostly because Shane's physique was perfectly refined, and thus much stronger than anyone else's physique, increasing his strength and speed tremendously.

However, instead of evading the Lightning spears, Shane jumped towards him.

Pushing his feet from the ground while exerting every ounce of strength within his body, he rushed forward leaving behind faint cracks that were created on the ground as he shot into the air.

Shane hadn't expected his speed to be that fast. Right now, he was circulating much more mana into his Light steps movement technique than ever before, and it was only now that Shane realized how much of a difference overclocking a movement technique meant.

Overclocking martial art techniques or skills was only possible if one had perfect control over the exerted skill or technique.

This was exactly what he had achieved with the Light steps movement technique and the amount of mana he could use the technique with was only restricted by his body.

Fortunately, Shane didn't rely on his speed!

While a part of the mana he had transferred from the Hidden Paradise had entered his body, the rest was inserted inside the Invincible Scimitar which Shane had used to slash apart the lightning spears.

They exploded due to the sudden interference Shane had created, which others might look at as a disadvantage.

However, Shane had planned exactly the same! Due to the cloud of smoke created due to the lightning spears' explosions, he was temporarily blocked from his opponent's sight.

As such, the Witura could only wait until he could see Shane clearly again, or attack him blindly.

The young prodigy from the Witura race chose the second option and conjured another batch of a dozen lightning spears to throw them wildly into the smoke cloud enveloping Shane.

Suddenly, the sensation of death enveloped the Witura tightly as something eerie and extremely dangerous had appeared behind him.

It was Shane who emerged from a spatial portal Cosmo had created the moment he had jumped out of the Hidden Paradise.

The attack was precisely timed and Shane, who didn't like the young prodigy's obnoxious attitude, transferred even more mana from the Hidden Paradise towards himself to overclock the [Slaughterer's Path] martial art technique.

Shane's bloodlust-killing-intent suddenly erupted, and he was unable to tightly envelop himself with it anymore.

It began to enshroud the Witura in front of him, devouring his confidence, replacing it with nothing but pure, unadulterated fear.

When Shane noticed the Witura's expression, he couldn't help but shake his head, not sure how someone with such a weak will had been confident about winning the Primordial tournament.

If one was not confident in winning the tournament, it was a waste of time to even participate.

The death rate was 80% after all!

Despite the slight pity Shane felt, there was no way that he would show mercy to anyone he would fight.

Slashing out with the Invincible Scimitar that was merely enhanced by the mana Shane had inserted into it, his eyes turned cold.

The Witura knew that something bad was about to happen, and the only instinctive reaction he could forcefully execute was to erect a gigantic and thick wall of lightning.

Under normal circumstances, this would have been enough to prevent someone's advance.

However, Shane was anything but normal! Brandishing the Invincible Scimitar, he cut through the lightning wall like a hot knife would slice through butter.

Only a moment later, Shane curled his fingers around the Scimitar in an iron grip, smoothly changing its trajectory. This allowed him to cleave at the young prodigy as the lightning wall dispersed around him.

The Scimitar was gleaming lightly, radiating a dominant force as if it could cut through everything that would dare come in its path. It shot towards the Witura as Shane wielded it effortlessly as if it was an extension of its arm.

Unable to evade the attack properly, the Witura used every possible skill he had while twisting his body uncomfortably.

Even the sound of cracking could be heard at that moment, clearly showing how desperately the Witura wanted to evade Shane's attack.

However, in the end, everything was for naught, and Shane's attack cleaved through the Witura.

There was only one advantage the young prodigy had.

Instead of his entire body, only two of his arms and the majority of his right wing were cut off!

This might not be great for the Witura, and he would be unable to continue participating in the Primordial tournament but Shane found that the young prodigy was quite fortunate.

He had survived after all.

It might be an inconvenience for him to be healed and get back on his feet again, but the pain he would have to endure would only show him that his life was yet to be over!

A moment later, Shane landed on the ground, while the Witura crashed into it.

The system had yet to announce that he had won the round, but Shane was not worried at all.

From the amount of blood that spurted out of the Witura, it was not difficult to tell that he would be unable to continue fighting.

Furthermore, even if the young prodigy was strong enough to endure the pain, without his wings, and the two arms on his right side, he would be extremely restricted.

Because of that, Shane decided to distance himself from his opponent and pick up his two arms and the part of the wing he had cut off.

Even though he was cruel, this didn't mean that he had to be over the top.

There was no bad blood between both parties after all!

Nevertheless, Shane remained vigilant, which was the right decision as he saw how the Witura forced himself to stand up once again!

"Are you sure you want to do that? If you die, it's over, you know?"
