Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 454 - Achilles' Heel

What Talia had been doing the moment she had received a certain object from Shane was simple.

Having received the flute made from the teeth of a Leviathan, Talia had hastily left the Hidden Paradise to emerge inside the Neptua ladra region.

After that, she rushed to the ocean and looked for a perfect spot to place a Space door on the ground.

This was easier said than done, and after playing the flute for half a minute, she tried to figure out how to place the Space door in the best possible position for the things Shane wanted to do.

The pair of the Space door she was holding was close to the large, empty sea that was created inside the soul world, to hold the two Leviathans.

That was under the condition that they accepted to move with Shane and a part of the human race, colonising a new planet.

However, even if they were to decide not to go with them, the sea was something they required, either way.

Even after Shane had given her a short briefing, Talia was still unable to understand what he was doing.

Nevertheless, Shane was serious, and Talia knew that she should just follow his orders and trust him.

She had learned that Shane had plans and reasons to do what he did though she couldn't see it clearly in the first instance every time.

Furthermore, Shane said that he would soon devour the silver soul world core after bringing the treants to the soul world.

As such, it was evident that something had happened.

Rather than wasting time in questioning him, she was quick-witted enough to understand that time was of the essence.

Thus, after playing the flute, she had awaited Levi's appearance, only to shriek out in shock, when an enraged voice reverberated in her mind.

[Who are you to play the flute I've given Shane? Nobody is allowed to use it except him, explain yourself, little human!!]

Talia took a few seconds to regain her composure, yet, her entire body didn't stop shaking as she hastily blurted out everything Shane had told her.

In the end, this was not much, and Talia was not even sure if the Leviathan was hearing her.

However, right now, she was just hoping to survive.

Never could Talia have imagined that a simple voice transmission of a being such as the Leviathan could be so terrifying.

'Is she just focusing on me, or does Shane have to cope with that every single time they're talking?!'

Her body was still trembling as the ginormous head of Levi appeared through the water surface as the same voice resounded in her mind once again.

Now, however, the voice had gone soft that helped Talia calm down much faster than she could have hoped for.

'Just how is it possible to control someone just with one's voice?...'

[Alright, I'll help you. Shane just wanted to have a large amount of water inside his soul world, right?]

Nodding her head quickly, Talia stepped back, while pointing at the Space door. Stammering a little, she added,

"T-t-the Space door is directly connected to the place it should flood into...yo-..I mean madame can just shoot water through the space door and it will work perfectly fine."

Talia wanted nothing but to leave quickly, but the Leviathan's large eyes were focused on her.

It was only a moment after Talia finished speaking that Levi averted her attention to the door.

At that moment, a small ball of water conjured right in front of the Space door, and Talia was just about to say that a large amount was required as quickly as possible, only to quiet down after witnessing Levi's power.

As she watched in a daze, the small ball of water shot out a tremendous beam, shaking the Space door that Talia had rowed deep in the ground as much as possible for her.

Gulping down her saliva, Talia took another step back, fearing that the beam of water could cut her in half in an instant.

'Just what kind of existence lives on Igra….how are we even alive?!?'

Never in her life had Talia been happy to encounter a placid beast.

Looking at the Leviathan, she truly understood why Shane wanted Levi and her youngling to come with them.

'With the Leviathan around, there wouldn't be any problem colonising a planet in no time!'

While Talia had entered her own train of thoughts, momentarily forgetting about the terrific existence right next to her, Shane smiled brightly at the last remaining fire spirits.

Out of the corner of his eye, he could also notice that the fire was spreading at a much slower pace, which was extremely nice.

However, instead of wasting any time after Talia had given him a heads-up, Shane took a short glance at his soul world, where he was able to see an extremely lethal-looking beam of water.

It emerged from the space door that was placed at one edge of the empty sea, shot out by Levi, on Igra, only to pierce through the soil at the other side.

This caused Shane to smile dryly, thinking that Levi might have forgotten how to control her power.

However, instead of seeing this as a disadvantage, Shane decided to take it as an advantage to end the battle before it had truly begun for him.

Because of that, he could only sigh as he thought.

'I just warmed up, why is the situation so annoying?…just let me fight without involving the burning ancient magi tree forest!'

At the same time, he looked at the fire spirits that were about to attack him, only for Shane to shake his head as he muttered,

"I'm really sorry for what I'm about to do. I would have loved to fight against you guys, but I don't want to see more trees turning into ashes!"

Saying that Shane conjured a portal from the Hidden Paradise.

The portal opened the space both in front of the water beam and Shane.

Its impact had decreased drastically because it had to travel through a shockingly high distance, a Space door, and another portal.

Nevertheless, the water beam was still more than enough to sever the fireballs that were thrown towards him, only to cut through the fire spirits as if they were made of empty air.

Adjusting the angle of his portal, Shane mercilessly destroyed the Myst stage fire spirit's mana core, ignoring the shrieking noises they issued as they succumbed to death.

Shane had no time to show any mercy, and saving the ancient magi trees was much more important.

At the same time, he had yet to figure out who or what had sent the fire spirits because it was unlikely for them to coincidentally discover a way to the secret realm on their own.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been the first being to step inside the secret realm in what felt like forever!

Furthermore, it was just too much of a coincidence that this happened one month before the System and Primordial dimensions were going to disappear.

The number of coincidences made it obvious that it was everything but a coincidence.

Nevertheless, Shane had to focus on saving the forest first, and then he could continue tormenting his mind about everything else.

That being said, he adjusted the Hidden Paradise's portal's angle once again, turning it upwards.

Through this, the gravitational force did its work as it pulled down the water that had been shot into the air.

However, before the water beam had been altered, it shot far more than a kilometer into the air, astonishing Shane.

'Is that really what Levi means by holding back?...the beam has already been weakened, yet it's still so strong…'

Despite this though, Shane couldn't help but feel satisfied with the final result. The fight ended much faster than expected and while walking through the secret realm to ensure that even the last flame was extinguished, he couldn't help but blurt out,

"If I can use the Achilles' heel of the treants, I can simply do the same!!"

A faint, scheming smile curled his lip upwards, only for him to realise that he had yet to figure out the true culprit who had caused the ruckus.

'Just what exactly happened here?'
