Ch20 - Morning Kiss

This time Xu Ze didn’t have any nightmares like the day before. It’s just that he woke up the next day feeling hot and panicked. The entire person seemed like he was on a hot stove. He reached out and pushed twice, but couldn’t move the person hugging him. However, he did push Yang Yan awake.

Yang Yan actually had a little bit of a temper in the morning. If someone awakened him this early in the morning at other times, he would definitely not have a good face.

it’s just that when he opened his eyes and saw the bright and beautiful face at hand’s reach, let alone anger, there was not even the slightest feeling of unpleasantness. Yang Yan even felt that he couldn’t be any more pleased in his heart because the person was in his arms.

Seeing Xu Ze put his hand on him and trying to push him away, Yang Yan felt like teasing him a little bit. Not only did he not let go, he suddenly turned over and supported himself above Xu Ze.

Two people, one up and one down, as the four eyes looked at each other. The pair of eyes above stared at the ones below, with deep affection in them.

Xu Ze could see that Yang Yan was in a very good mood and Xu Ze himself was not actually angry. His mood was just normal.

It’s just that seeing Yang Yan’s eyes, it seemed just a little interesting. When did this person become like this, with his desires unsatisfied? Xu Ze felt like laughing in his heart. And he did curve his lips and chuckled. When he smiled, the entire person looked so alive and beautiful.

Xu Ze’s peach blossom eyes were beautiful and moving. Yang Yan strokes the end of Xu Ze’s eyes, where there was a bit of faint attractive crimson, Yang Yan leaned forward as his lips landed on Xu Ze’s eyes.

Xu Ze subconsciously closed his eyes. Yang Yan’s good morning kiss fell on Xu Ze’s eyelids and he could clearly feel the traces of Xu Ze’s eye trembling. Yang Yan felt that such a morning would always make people think fondly.

“I’m thirsty. I want to go down and drink some water.” Xu Ze didn’t have Yang Yan leave directly but instead said that he was thirsty.

Yang Yan turned his body to the side and Xu Ze got up. He was wearing sleepwear and wasn’t directly sleeping naked. It seemed that Yang Yan put it on him last night. During that time he was too tired so he slept past it in a daze.

After waking up and adding a piece of clothing, he still felt cold in just his sleepwear.

Coming out of Yang Yan’s room, Xu Ze went downstairs. He went to his room and washed his face in the bathroom.

Aunt Dong saw him when he went downstairs, so Aunt Dong knew that Xu Ze slept in Yang Yan’s house last night.

She knew this in her heart, yet Aunt Dong knew her position, knowing very well what to say and what not to say.

Aunt Dong told Xu Ze that the breakfast was ready. Xu Ze replied to her as he came down, saying that he will go eat after washing his face.

After washing, Xu Ze came out. Yang Yan seemed to move faster than Xu Ze and was already sitting at the dinner table.

Xu Ze walked over. The rice was already served and the other steaming dishes were placed on the table.

After breakfast, Xu Ze didn’t go to school with Yang Yan. He didn’t have class until ten o’clock, so Yang Yan left by himself.

At home, Xu Ze sat in the living room. The agent he had talked with last night contacted Xu Ze again, saying that there was a two-bedroom house, and asked Xu Ze if he had time to take a look. The previous apartment transfer procedure was delayed because the landlord was currently out of town. The contract was temporarily postponed. Xu Ze expressed that he was also a little interested in a second house, so the agent was very active and provided Xu Ze with many listings.

After chatting with the agent, Xu Ze put down his phone. There were a lot of fruits on the coffee table. Yesterday, Aunt Dong went to the supermarket to buy some fried candied tangerines. Xu Ze took some candied tangerines and ate quite a few.

Xu Ze walked out the door at about half-past nine.

Walking on the road, Xu Ze didn’t know if it was his own misconception, but he felt like someone was following him. There was a vague feeling of a gaze falling on him, with cold malice in addition to the sense of being peeped at.

Xu Ze searched through his memories, but he didn’t seem to have any enmity with anyone. Maybe he thought wrong.

Xu Ze didn’t put this matter in his heart and walked quickly to school.

When Xu Ze was waiting for the bus at the traffic lights, a person walked out from behind a certain corner. That person stared at Xu Ze viciously with a cold and malicious look. Looking carefully at that face, it was clearly the man that was given a beating by Yang Yan not long ago.

After the two classes in the morning, Xu Ze, Zhou Xing, and the others went to the school cafeteria to eat. In the afternoon, Zhou Xing and the others went back to the dormitory. Xu Ze left the school first because of the appointment with the agent to inspect the house.

Xu Ze paid a deposit for that other apartment. When the landlord came back, he would then sign the purchase contract.

The original host’s registered residence was directly moved here when he came to the school in the beginning. So there was no need to return home to get the registered residence booklet when buying a house. Xu Ze could do it by himself.

Xu Ze didn’t tell anyone about the matter of buying a house. If he told his classmates, they would probably ask him where the money came from. At that time another lie would have to be piled up.

The agent drove the car and took Xu Ze back. The car stopped outside the community and Xu Ze pushed the door to get out. Just as he got out of the car, the malicious gaze he felt in the morning reappeared. This time Xu Ze believed it was not his misconception.

He was living here together with Yang Yan. He himself didn’t have a grudge with anyone, but as for Yang Yan… Xu Ze suddenly wondered if it was someone Yang Yan provoked.

Yang Yan had many lovers. It was possible that one of them had not reconciled after being separated from Yang Yan. After stalking him casually, they would know that Yang Yan was now with him. Naturally, the resentment will be transferred to him. If his stomach wasn’t bearing this child, Xu Ze wouldn’t be afraid to make people jealous and hate him. However, he was currently bearing the child and he still had to rely on the child to get the rest of the money, so he couldn’t let himself make any mistakes.

Xu Ze sent a text message to Yang Yan after he returned home. Regardless of whether the person stalking him was related to Yang Yan, if the other party wanted to hurt him, it was equivalent to hurting Yang Yan’s child in his stomach. As the child’s father, Yang Yan has the responsibility and obligation to eliminate any danger. Yang Yan’s family was powerful so he should be able to solve the problem quickly.

As for whether Xu Ze had to solve it by himself? His main task right now was to rest and nurture the fetus. Every other matter was for Yang Yan to deal with.

Yang Yan called over shortly after the text message was sent.

“You said someone was following you? Did you see who it was?” Yang Yan asked.

“I didn’t. I don’t know who it was.” Xu Ze replied.

“Then you are all right? Are you at school or did you return home?”

“At home, I just came back.” Xu Ze didn’t say that he went out to inspect a house, concealing this matter.

Hearing Xu Ze say that he was at home and nothing happened, Yang Yan relaxed his heart a little.

“Is there any class in the evening? If you have class, wait at home and I’ll drive over to pick you up.” Yang Yan was worried about Xu Ze going to school alone.

“There isn’t.” Listening to Yang Yan’s tone, it seemed like he was more worried than Xu Ze himself. Xu Ze smiled on his side of the phone.

Yang Yan’s voice deepened: “You should stay home as much as possible at night. Don’t go out if there’s nothing important.” It was definitely safer at home and there was also Aunt Dong in the house. Yang Yan felt more at ease with another person beside Xu Ze.

“En.” Xu Ze nodded.

But Yang Yan came back less than half an hour after Xu Ze hung up the phone. He was watching TV at that time, so Xu Ze was a little surprised when he saw the door open and Yang Yan suddenly appear.

Yang Yan walked over with a few long strides. He walked to the sofa and sized up Xu Ze. Seeing that Xu Ze was really okay, Yang Yan’s gloomy expression eased down.

“I’ve already asked someone to adjust the surveillance nearby.” Yang Yan called and asked someone to adjust the surveillance since it was nothing money couldn’t deal with. And money to him, even if he got more, it would still be just a number.

“I’m also not too sure, maybe I felt wrong.” Xu Ze recalled the situation at that time.

Even if Xu Ze’s perception was wrong, Yang Yan would still find someone to check. He didn’t want Xu Ze to be in any situation when he wasn’t there.

“It’s fine. It’s just a quick check, it’s not troublesome. Besides, what if someone is really stalking you? What would I do if they hurt you and the child?” Yang Yan’s eyebrows were dyed with tenderness as he stared at Xu Ze. It temporarily gave Xu Ze a misconception that he was the person Yang Yan valued and cherished most.

Xu Ze’s heart was as clear as a mirror inside. Or another way to say it was that no matter how Yang Yan behaved, it was difficult to move him. This was because Xu Ze had no good impression of Yang Yan from the beginning. Xu Ze had distinct likes and dislikes. No matter what the other person does, he won’t suddenly fall in love with people he doesn’t like. Yang Yan was even more unlikely to become the outlier.

In the face of Yang Yan’s revealed true feelings, Xu Ze’s feelings weren’t stirred much at all. Since Yang Yan was investigating this matter, Xu Ze would stop caring about it.

His phone received a text message sent by a certain classmate from class. Because of Xu Ze’s help—the previous time when Xu Ze helped match the headcount and being the background vase—that classmate successfully chased a girl later on. It was about to be the classmate’s girlfriend’s birthday and the two planned to invite Xu Ze out to have a meal. This was also thanks to Xu Ze for his help in the beginning.

Xu Ze asked about the time and it happened to be the weekend of this week. He was about to say yes when he suddenly remembered that Yang Yan had mentioned to him earlier that he’ll drive him out for a walk on the weekend. It seemed like the two’s time had conflicted with one another.

After weighing it for a moment, Xu Ze turned and asked Yang Yan: “You said before that we’ll go out this weekend. We would return before nighttime that day, right?”

“Do you have other things to do?” Yang Yan subconsciously inferred this when he saw Xu Ze chatting with someone on his phone.

Xu Ze nodded and did not hide it from Yang Yan: “It’s a classmate’s girlfriend’s birthday soon, so they asked me to go out for a meal at night.”

Yang Yan squinted his eyes: “That’s fine, just be back early.” Yang Yan also had other considerations, such as sending Xu Ze there when it’s time and then going along and eating together with Xu Ze’s classmate.

Many people around him already knew that he was living with someone. But over to Xu Ze’s side, he still seemed to be hiding it from his classmates.

Yang Yan had a little idea of his own.

Xu Ze didn’t know Yang Yan’s real plan. After asking Yang Yan, he replied to the classmate, saying that he had time that night. And so things were settled just like this.

Before, Xu Ze played a game on the computer occasionally. But in view of his pregnancy, Xu Ze didn’t use them these days, since computers had a bit of radiation. Instead, he downloaded multiple games on his phone, since the radiation from phones was basically negligible.

It was still early and there was still a while before the mealtime, so Xu Ze sat on the sofa and played mobile games. Yang Yan sat next to Xu Ze for a while, taking a fruit knife to pare fruits for Xu Ze. Xu Ze played games while peacefully enjoying Yang Yan’s service.

Yang Yan’s phone rang. There were some results from the investigation. Yang Yan got up and walked out to the balcony. The investigator said that he had found a person with an abnormal movement, and that person followed Xu Ze for a while. Yang Yan asked them to send a photo over. After receiving the photo, Yang Yan clicked on the picture to zoom in and examined it. In an instant, he recognized who that person was.

Unexpectedly, this person was really unwilling to give up, even daring to involve Xu Ze in their plans. This was no longer a question of whether he ate the guts of the ambitious leopard. This was clearly a desire to die.

Welp, rip that cannon fodder.

So the v chapters started. Go support the author if you can!

Anyways, my dark brain got its cogs jogging again. I’ve been reading Application For Divorce, a great plot filled novel also on CG.

I’ve basically thought of a darker version of it. There are some plot holes though. No spoilers surprisingly. At least I don’t think there really is.

A short summary of the beginning of the novel:
