"Wow look at me, what a cool looking hotshot. I look good as hell. Well, of course, I do because I can't see myself. Haha. You know cause I am blind..." Zed awkwardly laughs to himself, "Ah... I am so fucked." He grabs a rose and heads off to the movie theaters. This would be the first time he would be with a girl other than his sister.

A 'ding!' noise was heard in the background of Zed's apartment. It was his doorbell. He walked over to the door and open it. In front of him was a surprising face. His own mother had come to visit him.

"Long time no see kiddo." His mother was wearing glasses and looked quite young and beautiful for someone her age she carried a bag of groceries.

"Yeah. Long time." Zed helped out his mother upload the groceries and then proceeded to text his date.

"So how's school? Here you go. I haven't cooked in a while so don't expect much." Zed's mother placed down a plate of burnt toast and eggs with bacon. She then sat down in the kitchen chair.

"Why do you even care? You never visit me anyways. You are to busy with your science experiments! That's all you ever care about! Why did you even show up?!" Zed yells out.

"Zed calm down. I came here for you of course." She mutters as she flips her long hazel hair.

"Bullshit! You came here out of nowhere after 5 years and think everything is fine. You probably don't care about me because I am blind! Your experiments and theories are more important aren't they?" Zed says as he slaps away the plate into the ground. It shatters to pieces.

"Grow up Zed. Stop blaming your blindness and blame yourself. I am trying my best as a mother you selfish brat. Do you know how much I work? I am so close to a breakthrough on an anti-virus for the deadly disease that is plaguing this world. Do you think your life is more important than the fate of this world?" She says as she stands up in an angered fashion. She was talking about Shadow Dust when someone would turn to dust and die after being infected by breathing in toxic air caused by global warming.

"Whatever just get out. I have somewhere to be." Zed snarls as he puts his cell phone in his pocket.

"Goodbye, my son-"

"Don't fucking say that! I hate how you lie to me. Stop putting up a front, I know you don't love me. I mean who would ever love a blind kid right? You called me a bastard and locked me in my room without a care in the world when I was little. I am not your son!" Zed punches a hole in the wall and storms out the door.

Zed's mother begins crying. It didn't matter to him. He was already gone.
