Chapter 9: Father

Ou Institute of Biotechnology

All the important members of the Ou Institute gathered, waiting patiently for Second Young Master's arrival. Everyone was confused as to what happened that made the Second Young Master summon everyone, even the experts stationed abroad.

"Simon, you're the closest to the Second Young Master. Do you have any internal information?" An old man curiously asked the Second Young Master's good friend.

"There is some internal intel. I heard Second Young Master's nephew has a research report that experts need to appraise," Simon honestly answered.

"What? We were asked to come here because of his nephew's research report? That's ridiculous! This is no way to pamper kids!" When the old man heard the news, he was enraged. The nephew that he automatically thought about was Ou TianBao.

In the Ou Institute, who didn't know that Ou XingTian pampered Ou TianBao to no end? It's very likely everyone was summoned for a randomly written research report.

The people around listened to their conversation intently. After knowing the truth, they were quite dissatisfied.

When Ou XingZhen led Ou LingYi through the door and saw the thick fog of resentment in the conference room, he lifted an eyebrow in surprise.

"Thank you for attending today's meeting despite your busy schedules. I know everyone must be busy with their reports, but I promise that you wouldn't regret being here. Because this conference will mark a great change for the future of the medical world!" Ou XingZhen ignored the dissatisfaction in the air and announced solemnly.

The audience was intrigued by his serious words. Second Young Master does not randomly throw around empty promises. If he could say that, it must mean the report is important.

"Let me introduce to you: this is Ou LingYi, the youngest master of the Ou family and my nephew. This report was written by him! Let's have a look first. If you have any questions, you can discuss them with him. " Ou XingZhen held Ou LingYi in front of him, proudly introducing him to everyone present. He rose his hand, indicating the secretary to pass the photocopied materials to the other experts.

The experts had some expectations, but after seeing that the research report was completed by a young man who was obviously underage, they bursted into an uproar for a moment. They began to worry if today's conference was going to eventually descend to a farce, again.

"Be quiet. Please finish reading the report before you give your opinion." Noticing the doubtful looks in the experts' eyes and their whispered exchanges, they clearly didn't trust him. Ou LingYi didn't care, calmly pulled over a chair to sit in, and indifferently spoke to the crowd.

His clear voice contained shreds of calming energy. The crowd felt soothed and immediately quieted, focused on reading the research report before them carefully.

Ou XingZhen watched with surprise as Ou LingYi managed to calm down these typically arrogant "experts" with only a few words.

The meeting hall was so quiet a pin dropping could be heard. However, soon, the sounds of rapid breathing picks up. Some people were so excited they couldn't help but let out an exclaimed gasp, then immediately covered their mouths with embarrassment.

After reading the report in their hands, everyone's faces flushed red with excitement and their pupils dilated.

"Second, Second Young Master, you mean this report was written by Young Master?" The lead geneticist asked in disbelief.

Genius, truly a genius amongst geniuses! The expert exclaimed. If this research plan passes and develops successfully, it will trigger an earthquake with a magnitude of 10 in the medical world. The entire field of biological genetics, clinical medicine, immunology, pathology, and cytology would be reformed.

"It's indeed mine! If anyone has any questions, feel free to discuss them with me," Ou LingYi simply admitted. Although the original stem cell culture research was based on the achievements of his predecessors, across many years, he combined a series of medical theories such as pathology, cytology, and traditional Chinese medicine. Such actions greatly improved the original plan and tied it together, raising the feasibility up to 90%.

Now, the research report in everyone's hands could be claimed as his own unique test results. His admittance had no guilt to it.

The experts saw his expression was calm and his manner was confident, so their belief in him increased by about seventy to eighty percent. Tentatively, they offered some questions regarding the first principles. Ou LingYi gave detailed answers one by one.

By now, everyone believed him. As a result, more questions arose. From the superficial theories to how to carry out clinical trials, Ou LingYi was as patient as a saint. Every question was illustrated thoroughly on the meeting room's blackboard.

Ou XingZhen was already pushed to the outside of the crowd by the gathering people. Looking at the dazzling young man surrounded by people, he smiled with content.

The meeting was very engaging. The people who were originally reluctant to attend the meeting, if you pointed a gun at their heads and forced them to leave now, they wouldn't want to leave.

The discussion went on like a raging fire, beginning from 8 A.M. all the way to 8 P.M., with only a short break in the middle. Everyone ordered a simple takeout. If it wasn't for Ou XingZhen's love for his nephew and told the bodyguards to chase people away, he probably wouldn't have gotten away from the questions.

"It's been a hard day for you! Second Uncle will take you to eat delicious food!" Securing the seatbelt for Ou LingYi, Ou XingZhen ruffled his head and said tenderly.

"Not hard. After discussing with everyone, I felt very inspired and had many new ideas." Shaking his head, Ou LingYi expressed that he didn't mind at all.

Whenever he's with Ou XingZhen, he always exuded his spiritual energy that allowed Ou LingYi to feel comforted. He was like a large charger that replenished for him conveniently. 不吸白不吸,吸了也白吸!Ou LingYi didn't complain so much about his constant presence now.

"Haha, Xiao-Yi is also a workaholic! I'll take you to eat cake; I promised you this morning."

"I don't want it. Let's eat at home! I'm tired and I want rest." Ou LingYi has never said that many words and felt very exhausted. He waved his hand and refused Ou XingZhen's proposal.

"That's alright. Let's go home." Refused by the young man, Ou XingZhen felt a small frustration in his heart and changed routes to drive home. Thinking that the youth is already under his wings and will participate in the research and development plans of the Institute in the future, there will be more chances in the future. He was immediately satisfied.

Eating some midnight snacks, Ou LingYi dragged his exhausted body back into his room to sleep.

Laying on the bed, he thought back to today's conference. Despite his exhausted body, his mind was still racing and became gradually clearer. Unable to sleep, he got up to turn on his computer and noted all of his new thoughts today, further perfecting his original report.

Once he started working, he forgot about time. Suddenly, he realized it was already deep into the nights. The entire house was quiet. Finally typing up the last word, Ou LingYi hit the return key and saved the document. He stood up and stretched a little.

He beelined for the window. The outside was slightly hazy from the darkness, but today was a full moon and extremely bright. Squinting his eyes a little, he opened his arms to greedily absorb the energy the moon gave him. The exhaustion from today dissipated with the circulation of the energy.

Smiling in satisfaction, he quietly opened the door to head to the kitchen for food. Digging through the fridge once, it was full of fruits Ou LingYi disliked. He pouted a little and gave up helplessly. Unintentionally, he noticed a glimpse of the refrigerated milk in the corner.

Thankfully retrieving the milk, he poured a large cup for himself. Ou LingYi walked to the balcony of the living room, hugging his knees on the rattan chair as he drank the milk under the moonlight.

The courtyard under the moonlight reflected the flowing silver light. The wind gently dusted by, in turn causing the flowery branches to sway. The lights and shadows blended together hazily. Such a scene was breathtaking. Ou LingYi quietly enjoyed the beautiful scenery while taking mouthfuls of fresh milk and satisfiedly sighed.

Silently circulating the spiritual energy throughout his body and allowing the moonlight to flow through him, he felt his entire body emitted silver light. It made his already delicate and porcelain features to take on some more unimaginable beauty.

Holding out her hand in the moonlight, she watched her dim reflection dancing on the ground. Such a scene reminds Ou LingYi of that time of wandering soul, and she is lonely and sad.

"Who?" Feeling a weak spiritual fluctuation, Ou LingYi found that there were others in the living room.

伸出手在月光中晃动几许,看着地上自己朦胧的倒影随之舞动,这样的场景让欧凌逸又想起了那段游魂岁月,孤寂悲凉一下涌上心头。

He held out his hand under the moonlight and saw his faint shadow dance on the ground. Such a scene reminded Ou LingYi of the time when his soul wandered. Loneliness and sadness poured onto him.

"谁?"感觉到一道微弱的精神力波动,欧凌逸这才发现客厅里竟然还有别人。

"Who is that?" Feeling a weak spiritual fluctuation, Ou LingYi finally realized there was someone else in the living room.

"你又是谁?"冰冷而又熟悉的磁性嗓音响起,刺激的欧凌逸心脏一个紧缩。是那个人吗?

"And who are you?" The frosty yet familiar attractive voice sounded. Ou LingYi's heart tensed for a moment. Is it that person?

客厅里灯很快被来人打开,突如其来的光线照射,让欧凌逸眼睛不适的微眯。适应光亮后,他转头看向客厅沙发上安坐的高大邪肆的俊美男人。

The lamp in the living room was quickly turned on by the visitor. The sudden brightness of the lights made Ou LingYi's eyes uncomfortable and he squinted. After getting used to the brightness, he turned his head and looked at the handsome man sitting on the couch of the living room.

果然是他!自己的父亲,欧邢天。不过记忆中他不是还有两日才会回来吗?

It's indeed him! His own father, Ou XingTian. But in his memory, didn't he say he'll be back in two more days?
