Reborn: Rise of the Greatest Summoner

131 Akela's mission; the tribe warriors' mission

-----

[A Saber-toothed Tiger have been added to Akela's Wolf Pack!]

[Akela's Wolf Pack!]

[Pack Wolves: 6]

[Alpha Wolf: Wind Wolf- Akela]

[Beta Wolf: Ice Direwolf- Rogue]

[No. of Grade D Wolves: 5]

[No. of Grade E Wolves: 1]

[No. of Grade F Wolves: 0]

----

Despite Bone's smooth integration into the pack as one of Akela's wolf subordinates, Rogue 1 was still un-dethroned as the Beta Wolf.

Though Bone always emerged the victor whenever these 2 enemies clashed, their base attributes were more or less evenly matched.

And adding the fact that Rogue 1 joined Akela's pack before he did, it explained the reason why Bone didn't become the next Beta Wolf.

Akela was stunned for a long time at Bone's willing acceptance.

Rogue 1 was not though, this massive Direwolf was unwilling to accept the shamelessness of his rival. He roared agitatedly as he questioned. "Have you no shame?"

"What?" The massive Spilodon turned to look at him uninterestedly.

Bone's lack of interest riled Rogue 1 up even more, his rage exploded. "How dare you say what? How can you surrender so easily?"

"Don't you have any pride as a beast?!"

"Don't you have any respect for your bloodline?!"

"Your ancestors will be so disappointed!"

"Oh, they will? Good thing they're not here".

"…" Rogue 1 was stunned.

"You mother*cker!" He roared and charged at the massive Spilodon.

"Stand down!"

Akela's authoritative voice reverberated the next moment before they could clash. Becoming part of his pack was not just in words, like indicated in the virtual interface, nature already recorded it that they were now Akela's subordinates.

Akela's words were now orders and like law to them.

This was not something that could be forced but Akela was a natural leader.

Hearing the Alpha Wolf's deep authoritative voice silenced the 2 bickering wolves, Rogue 1 and Bone stopped as they kept on glaring at each other.

Akela addressed them. "Since you joined my pack, the first mission for the 2 of you under my leadership is getting along".

"What? I can't…!"

"No excuses!" Akela said in a tone of finality.

Even Legolas and Christensen felt goosebumps as they heard Akela like this.

Like ghosts, they watched the talking wolves, seeing wolves speaking the common tongue was definitely no regular occurrence. Neither was seeing Grade D beasts a regular occurrence; the same way Legolas was not normal.

Achieving so much since turning 15 was borderline ridiculous.

As Legolas watched his contracted beast ease the tension between the Direwolf and the Saber-toothed Tiger, for some reason, he felt a sense of deep pride and contentment welling in his heart.

This was a feeling that he secretly felt recently around Christensen.

This was the feeling that a father felt after giving his best to train his child and the child ended up exceeding his expectations.

Akela's leadership qualities exceeded his expectations.

In just a few seconds, both beasts made a temporary peace pact.

Legolas smiled as he thought. 'This is already impressive enough, making a Direwolf and a Spilodon hunt as comrades is really a peculiar sight'.

'Making both of them make permanent peace will perhaps be Akela's greatest task in building his wolf pack".

Legolas's smile widened because his mission was a massive success.

He set out alongside his student and Predator to create the perfect foundation to grow for Akela, he couldn't have hoped for a better outcome.

Once Akela was done, with him in the lead, all the new wolves in his pack including Warg came before Legolas as they bowed their heads respectfully.

Legolas went closer and rubbed Akela's fur. "You did good".

He looked at all the wolves before addressing them. "Since the perfect foundation for growth is established, I will be giving you a special mission".

"Wolves are powerful beasts, you shall be my main army".

"As a Summoner who took the Shepherd route, I need a beast army".

"I entrust that task to you". Legolas looked pointedly at Akela.

"In the beast plane, some beasts most especially powerful wolves have their own territory. Only the strongest Grade D beasts and Grade C beasts are qualified to have territories with thousands of beasts under their rule".

"Akela". Legolas's voice turned serious. "You have the foundation now, so here is my mission for you, get your own territory".

"Expand and become the Alpha of a thousand Wolves".

"Achieve this and become my right-hand man, become my battle spear, and become my main army".

"Are you willing to accept this mission?"

Legolas could impose this mission on his contracted beast but he decided to go for a change, he waited to hear Akela's opinion.

Akela didn't reply with words, he replied with a howl.

"Awoo!"

As soon as their Alpha howled, all the other wolves also howled.

The howls merged together into a symphonic melody that rang like the sounds of battle songs and war drums being beat in preparation for war.

Legolas didn't need words, he got his answer.

He smiled. "I trust you".

You have activated active ability: Beast Plane Summoning

----

Legolas opened the rainbow bridge as he finally bade his goodbye to Akela and his new subordinates. Alongside his student, Leo, and Predator, they made their way back to their settlement in the Kong tribe territory.

On returning, it was already the early hours of the morning as they spent long hours in the beast plane but the darkness of the night still reigned.

The beast plane had a different build and structure to Planet Darvis.

Due to the violet skies of the beast plane, there was not much difference between night and day and was why they were able to fulfill their mission.

Since it was already morning, they no longer had the opportunity to sleep.

So they simply meditated to while away the time.

Apart from meditating, Christensen also studied the Intermediate Summoner knowledge. Despite his training with his master coming to an end already, he remained diligent in following his teachings.

He was just a few more epiphanies away from completely learning the Enhanced Leadership intermediate summoner knowledge.

A few hours later, as the day dawned completely, heralding the first signs of the golden sun, a horn sound reverberated across the settlement.

For the first time in weeks, the Kong tribe was experiencing a beast attack.

Legolas and Christensen did not stay idle, they joined the group of valiant warriors as they went out to push back, kill, and hunt the invading beasts.

No matter how Planet Darvis seemed safe at the moment, this was still a planet that survived a beast apocalypse. The beasts may not be as dangerous as before but their danger was still very much alive.

You have activated active ability: Combat Master

----

With the bonuses that his Combat Master ability gave, Legolas always had a place among the vanguard protectors who protected the territory.

And with Predator alongside him, he had nothing to fear.

Christensen followed closely behind him on top Leo who was still trying to adapt to life in the desert. Despite the odds, as a Golden bloodline Frost Wolf, Leo was stronger than normal and was already slowly recovering his powers.

He still could not conjure sharp icicles and massive ice balls, but with a bit of effort, he could now change the temperature to favor himself.

"ROAR!"

Enthusiastic as ever, Predator joined this battle as directly as possible.

From the skies, Bran didn't attack, he was given an important mission by his master. Against a Giant Ant Swarm like this, stopping them was impossible since their numbers was simply ridiculous.

The only way to stop them was assassinating their Queen.

Captain Aegon and the other champions among the protectors already charged into the fray without fear as they sought out the Ant Queen.

They simply charged in without direction as they tried their luck to find her, as for Legolas, he took less than a minute to do the same. Once he activated his Eye of the Truth ability, Bran easily located the Ant Queen.

Through their telepathic relationship, Bran communicated to his master.

The Ant Queen was massive, towering as tall as a human's waist with a naturally made golden crown endowing her head as her antennas waved wildly.

She had a Legion of Ants with mutated golden armor protecting her.

As soon as he saw this, Legolas alerted Captain Aegon.

After alerting the Captain, he urged Predator to ride faster as he finally unsheathed his Giantsbane from its sheath. As soon as he held the sword while Predator charged towards the Legion of Ants, his virtual interface lit up.

-----

Weapon Ability has been triggered: Giant's Might!

----

A growl like that from a giant reverberated the next moment as soon as the weapon ability triggered, then on top Predator, Legolas started slicing apart.

Whoosh!

The blade edge of the sword was sharp, it simply met no obstacles as it cut through the legion of armored Ants like they were not there.

The slicing sounds were like those of knife effortlessly slicing through Tofu.

In just a minute after Legolas bulldozed his way in, the Ant Queen was exposed. She had no combat ability, she was more like Akela but a more extreme one as all her abilities were focused on augmenting her subordinates.

She was exposed but not dying yet, all the armored Ants went crazy as they tried kamikaze attacks on him without giving a damn about their lives.

This was when Captain Aegon came into play.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

This powerful Pugilist punched his way in and his fiery fists kept the armored Titans at bay until Legolas finally sliced the Ant Queen's head off.

-----

You have killed a Grade D Ant Queen: Mother Variant!

You have gained 14,000 Experience Points!

----

With the Ant Queen dead, the frightened Ants retreated to their holes.

As they retreated in their numbers, Captain Aegon turned to look at Legolas. "It's time to commence our mission".
