"Ooh, player profile," Ning thought. He was about to speak for it when he noticed something hovering at the leftmost corner of his eyes.

He glanced, and it came into focus.

[Player518456#:

HP: 220

MP: 110]

"I don't have a name yet?" he wondered and clicked on the profile. A Status page appeared in front of him in a massive panel.

"Hmm, STR… that's Strength right?" Ning thought. He quickly understood what the rest much be.

"What do they do exactly? Can I know?" he wondered and tapped around. When he tapped on STR, it gave a small popup.

[STR: Your Strength value determines how much damage your normal attacks deal. Your damage will always be in the range of 1.3x to 1.5x your STR stat prior to getting reduced by the enemy.]

"Oh, explain more," Ning tapped everything.

In essence, it was simple.

INT gave 10 Mana per INT and a 0.05 mana regeneration per second per point in INT.

VIT gave 20 HP per VIT and improved one's stamina, which was a hidden value that could be felt but not seen. It also gave HP regeneration which was about 0.1 HP per point of VIT per second

DEF improved physical defense depending on the ratio between the Enemy's STR and your DEF stat. The defense was capped at 75%.

AGI improved one's attack speed and movement speed. And according to what Ning read, it also slowed down time for them.

"Hm, not bad," he thought. "Now… what should I name myself? Should I go with my name or…?"

He thought for a moment and typed what he thought was an appropriate name for him.

Immortal_Energy

"Oh, it accepted. Nice," he thought and closed the panel to continue on with his task.

Since the quest was over, he was about to go back and do the other quest, when he thought of something.

"Is this all the STR I can get from this? What happens if I hit more?" he thought. So, he pulled back his sword and started hitting the post again and again.

For a while, he thought he was doing something stupid and was wasting his time. But when he really thought about it, him playing this game was just wasting time.

And he had nearly 250 years to waste as well.

<Congratulations, your STR has increased by 1.>

"Oh, nice! It works." Once Ning got the motivation he needed, he continued hitting the post again and again.

He got 1 more STR, and then 1 more STR.

But then, he got a notification.

<You have gained all 5 STR you could from the Tutorial>

"Oh, then that's it for this huh?" he thought and stopped. He took the sword back to the pile and dropped it before going to the wooden post with moving poles stuck on it.

"Why am I feeling tired though?" he wondered. "Is my stamina so low?"

He shook his head and went on to get beat by the poles.

He sat in front of the post and was whacked everywhere by the poles that were attached to the post.

There was a numbing or electrified sensation around where he was hit, but it didn't hurt at all.

His quest ended after increasing DEF and VIT by 2, but he stayed there to increase it by 3 more times.

Finally, after he got all he could, he went on for the next two stats.

INT was increased by meditating for a while, and he had to meditate a lot. AGI was increased by doing jumping jacks and running around the place for a while.

By the end of it, Ning was completely out of stamina, lying on the ground, heaving for breaths.

After finishing it all, he now had access to the Inventory panel, Equipment panel, and Skill panel. For now, all of them were empty, but Ning did see that one could have up to 6 different equipment of various types.

Ning looked forward to getting those.

[Ding!]

[Quest: Complete the Tutorial has been completed.]

[Reward: Get a weapon from the Demon Trainer.]

Ning read the notification and walked up to the demon trainer. "Sir, I've completed what you've asked for," he said.

"Hmm? Hmm… not bad," the demon said and pointed to a pile of weapons on the side and said, "Take one and leave."

"Thank you," Ning said and walked over to the weapons. He looked around for a spear as that was his weapon of choice, but since there was only a sword, dagger, and wand, Ning was forced to take one of these.

He checked the sword.

[ Trashy Sword (Common)

Made using the worst of the worst metal available in the demon forgery.

STR: 2 ]

Then he checked the dagger.

[ Trashy Dagger (Common)

Made using the worst of the worst metal available in the demon forgery.

STR: 1

AGI: 1 ]

Finally, the wand.

[Trashy Wand (Common)

Made using the worst of the worst wood available in the demon forgery.

INT: 2

Skill:

| Fireball - Release a small fire at your opponent dealing 140% of your INT as damage.

Cooldown: 10 seconds.

Manacost: 10 MP | ]

"Ooh, the wand has a skill," he thought and picked it up. He wasn't very used to sword, and he didn't feel like using a dagger, so in the end, he chose the wand.

Besides, he also wanted to see how skills worked in the game.

After taking the wand, a panel popped up, asking if he wanted to equip it. Ning accepted and checked the Equipment panel to see that one of the slots had been filled up by the wand.

Then, he exited the training hall and started wondering what he should be doing now.

Just then, another panel popped up.

[Hint: The player should go out of the city to hunt monsters and earn experience. After gaining enough experience, you will level up.]

"I see. Out of the city it is then."
