Reincarnated as the Villainess's attendant

375 Chapter 124 - Tournament arc (part 28)

"Glacier wall!"

Ludier called using Zoemi's mouth and three-quarters of the distance separating him from the charging white-haired mana turned into a wall of solid ice...

*CRUSH*

...just to be shattered the moment William charged it head-on and broke through without losing any speed.

"Tsk...!"

Ludier clicked Zoemi's tongue and rushed away, using the speed to the ice enchantments to get away from the opponent coming onto him like a homing missile with a vengeance.

"[Ice spear barrage!]"

Without turning around Ludier roared and translucent spears began forming behind his back and shot straight at the rampaging magicless man.

*CRACK* x72

But each and every single one of them reached the target but broke apart without stopping or even slowing him down to any significant degree.

They were doing damage – but none of the cuts and shallow wounds on the white-haired man's body could stop him from charging after the fleeing black-haired boy.

*BOOOM*

Despite the blood from his wounded forehead flooding his eyes, William was furiously kicking the ground, destroying the arena by just running on it – it did no matter how thick was the layer of ice covering it, the moment the white-haired man's foot touched it, it changed into a hole full of debris, borked ice, and dust.

"MY LORD! HOW LONG CAN YOU RUN?!"

William's roar sounded just like a growl of an enraged bull – but certainly, his voice did not stun nor stop Ludier - although that definitely wasn't the idea behind it in the first place.

"[GLACIER!]"

The unique shadow of the dead ice magician launched Zoemi forward and twisted in the air, pointing his hand at the charging white-haired man.

At first, nothing happened and after losing some speed Ludier made Zoemi's body continue the run around the arena – and William would think nothing of it, if not for the fact that just the arena alone was getting darker and darker while the audience's seats outside the disappearing barrier were basking in the sun...

...disappearing barrier...?

"...?"

That prompted the white-haired man to look up – just to see a humongous mass of ice so thick that despite being translucent it managed to completely block the sun – although that feature might have been partially caused by the air quake caused by the ridiculous amount of mana required for gathering all available moisture form the surroundings, and that included the now disintegrated water shield created by the group of water magicians to protect the audience.

"YOU...!"

"Descend."

"...haaa... What a bothersome toy I have..."

A certain being of light let out a tired sigh, sounding as if she shook her head at the world within her grasp.

-----------

William's eyes widened and she roared furiously, while Ludier smile using Zoemi's mouth and clicked the boy's fingers while straight-up jumping out of the arena and bringing the entire iceberg onto his opponent's head.

"LAW OF AIRES!"

*SLAM*

The desperate, panicked cry was the last sound William made before the gigantic mass of ice encompassing the entire arena rammed into it, so heavy that instead of just stopping at the ground level it became digging into the ground as the pressure caused by it launched a cloud of dust and debris into the audience and high into the sky.

"Ice explosion."

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

Not wanting to take any risks, Ludier commanded and the entire glacier straight-up exploded, and only thanks to the unique shadow's mastery over the ice attribute the shockwave were directed both straight up and straight down instead of everywhere around because just like it was with the phoenix spell, the consequences could have been severe...

...wh-what is going on...?

As if stirred up by the humongous explosion, Zoemi's consciousness was kicked back alive and he gasped, realizing that he is merely a spectator in his own body.

[Kid! You are awake!]

Ludier's shadow gasped in relief.

What the hell is going on here? Why no one is moving? What happened to the people in the audience?

Even though he was relieved, the same could not be said about Zoemi who instantly realized that there was something severely off about the entire scene.

Only the black-haired boy was able to move – the people sitting in the audience were all unmoving statues staring in the direction of the arena with vacant eyes.

People weren't even the only ones affected – the birds were frozen mid-flight and the clouds high above looked like they were painted over the sky...!

[I... I don't know...! Everything was normal a second ago! It must be his fault!]

Ludier's shadow gasped in disbelief, after witnessing the world around them frozen in time.

[That magicless guy is insane – whatever power he is using, it can repel mana and anything directly created by mana, but things like ice and earth seem to work against him well enough! But that bastard must have something more going around for him!]

The unique shadow explained as they were perched on a massive ice spear created by Ludier so that technically Zoemi wouldn't step out of bounds of the arena – although, with the world around them literally frozen in time, that was the least of their worries.

What kind of power?

Zoemi thought in concern while Ludier gave him back the control of his body, making the strips of darkness recede and the pale-blue light disappeared from the boy's black eyes.

[I wish I knew – that guy didn't want to say a thing – he only kept calling weird words, like a law of...]

*BOOOOOOOOOM*

"LAW OF CAPRICORN!"

[I KNEW IT!]

Ludier's was in the middle of explaining when a new tremor came from the massive sinkhole created by the explosion of the gigantic ice spell, and the heavily wounded white-haired man emerged from beneath, kicking off the empty air as if the sky was full of invisible platforms only available to him.

"NOW YOU'VE DONE IT! LAW OF GEMINI!"

William, standing afloat in the air, roared, putting his hands together.

The next moment his body split in two as if it was the most normal thing in the world.

Despite splitting in tow, one William was completely healthy while the other one was still wounded – with blood gushing from his head and neck and one arm hanging loosely by his side.

"Law of Capricorn!"

"Law of... Virgo..."

They both called out – the healthy one rushed at Zoemi, effortlessly running through the air while the wounded one stayed in place and even sat down on nothing and closed his eyes concentrating.

Ludier – keep that one busy.

[H-huh?! Okay, kid! Remember that mana isn't working against him! Let's kick their asses, kiddo!]

Seeing that Zoemi gritted his teeth and thought, glancing at the face of Miriette who had been frozen in time just like everyone else, causing Ludier to gasp in confusion before agreeing on whatever was supposed to come next and even laughing about it.

"Sure, let's. Ghost."

The black-haired boy nodded and muttered.

His body turned into the murky-black mist that passed through the ice armor that covered it until that point and floated down onto the ground.

As for the ice – it did not remain pure and translucent – instead, it got filled with a murky shadow that fitted it perfectly.

"[What is this then, time-stopping freak? Round three?]"

Ludier's shadow in his unique form laughed and jumped off his spear, straight at the charging William.
