Chapter 2 The villainess meets her end

~~~~
[Refusing to admit your crimes. Unexpectedly, you would stay silent even when all the evidences are placed right in front of you! What a vain daughter of a duke.]
The judge’s words brought Alicia from her daze.
She mustered up the courage to look up and then around, but the scornful and gloating eyes of everyone made her frightened again, and then she hurriedly stared back to the ground.
[Then, let the witnesses speak for you. First up, Prince Arthur.]
The situation was so bizarre that Alicia peeked at the witnesses who spoke. Sure enough, they had the same faces and said the same words as before.
‘Hey, what’s going on here? Haven’t I already experienced this trial?’
Is it because her quality of sleep is so poor that she had a series of reoccurring dreams? If that’s the case, what exactly does one need to do to wake up?
As a result, Alicia was unable to say a word during the trial and had to lower her head like an ostrich, waiting for the end of the torture.
After that, Alicia was escorted to the dungeon again by heavily armed guards. The guard rudely threw her onto the cold hard stone ground and slammed the door shut.
Even the location of the prison is the same as before. But she, who was wearing handcuffs and shackles, knew that all resistance was futile.
The cells are located underground and do not have any of the facilities of a modern prison.
There are no toilets, bed boards, or windows, and there are only high walls around, a stone floor, and endless darkness.
Alicia’s eyes got used to the dark environment after a while, but her heart never got used to the darkness.
Her fingers slowly stroked the cold wall, the rough touch was very real, and the stomach began to growl again.
If all of this is just a dream, then why does everything feel so real…
Her stomach will be hungry, the flesh on her hand will hurt, and… the mental sting caused by the cold eyes of everyone in the courtroom.
Click..
The guard once again delivered a bowl of pork chop rice as she remembered and she was extremely hungry.
Although she was mentally afraid that everything will repeat itself again, her physical hunger made her subconsciously rush to the food bowl.
She grabbed the food with her hands and sent it to her mouth.
Soon, drowsiness swept Alicia’s brain again. She gave up thinking and felt very… tired.
—-
What happened after that is very clear to Alicia.
The high steps, after passing through the light, is the execution device on the high platform.
The ice-cold blade reflected a strong light and a noisy crowd was watching the excitement under the stage.
She walked through the execution process once more with a dead expression, but when her head was fastened on the guillotine, her numb heart finally felt overwhelming fear.
Alicia, who had closed her eyes waiting for the end, feared not only her upcoming fate, but also the possibility of reversing time and space, returning back to the scene of conviction.
‘God, if you exist… Please end this absurd farce. I swear I will be a good person when I return to reality, I’ll confess everything!’
Clap clap…
The silver-blade of the guillotine fell, her head rolled on the basket, and she fell into darkness once again.
—-
[Alicia, will you admit to the horrendous crime of bullying the Holy Maiden of Light Ifty?]
When she opened her eyes again, the familiar court appeared in her field of vision. Alicia’s pupils dilated, her mouth opened wide in surprise, and she couldn’t make a sound.
[Hmph,  are you afraid? Knowing that it will result to this earlier, why did you do it in the first place? Confessing your crime may be your last dignity.]
There is no doubt that she has experienced this scene twice already. If she doesn’t make any changes, this cycle may continue forever!
Alicia no longer cared about her fear of speaking in front of everyone. She stood up directly and cried loudly:
[Why treat me like this! I obviously didn’t do anything!]
The purpose of her lifestyle is to avoid causing trouble to others, thus avoiding all contact with others, she only lives in her own little world.
But now, she has fallen into the experience of being executed again and again.
It’s acceptable for a good person to not be rewarded but why does she, who had no contact with other people, fall into this situation! Is there any reason for this to happen to her?!
When she came back to her senses, tears has already flown down her beautiful cheeks.
Hearing Alicia’s words, the quiet courtroom suddenly became noisy.
Bang bang bang bang!
[Silence, silence!] Judge Whitebeard slammed the table hard.
[I gave you a chance to keep your last dignity but you tried to flip the truth here! What a vain daughter of a duke. Well, let the witnesses speak…]
Afterwards, several handsome guys spoke out their testimonies that she had heard over and over again.
What they said was indeed in line with what Alicia in her memory did, but when the last witness’s statement was over, she retorted loudly:
[Yes, I may have done these things, but this sin will not amount to a death sentence! Let me be exiled, remove my noble status, whatever else, I can accept it!]
[Hmph, you really look like your treasonous duke father! Listen up, if you’re just bullying people, not to mention exile, you won’t even be judged. However, what you are bullying is the hope of our kingdom, Lady of Light! Then you must die!]
The eldest prince, Arthur, delivered the unavoidable death sentence to Alicia instead of the judge.
Ifty, who was sitting next to him, wanted to say something but was stopped by Arthur’s momentum and her slightly opened mouth closed again.
‘Sure enough, according to the game setting, the awakened protagonist, as the only being who can use light magic, is the only hope for the kingdom to purify the [Disaster] that strikes the northern land. Therefore, after her light magic is awakened, her identity becomes sacred and inviolable…’
[But that’s all Alicia’s doing, isn’t it?]
[What are you talking about…]
[I am not Alicia! I’m just a soul that possessed her. I am actually just a civilian, who did nothing wrong, you can’t execute me!]
Alicia’s dying struggles didn’t have the corresponding effect.
[Forget it, Alicia, the way you struggle is really ugly. If you still remember me as a former Fiancé, give up and accept your destiny.]
[It would be nice if things could end so easily, but ah, I’ve been dying all the time…]
Suddenly, Alicia’s heart felt a crazy sense of oppression, as if being held by a pair of black hands. Those hands were constantly exerting force and then more force was exerted…
She felt the blood in her body coagulate and she could no longer use her strength to squat on the ground.
The suffocation made her grip her chest hard, trying to gain breathing room.
Finally, when the sense of oppression disappeared, she greedily sucked the air, as if air were the most precious thing in the world.
[The debate is over. Then guard, take her to her cell.]
The judge clapped his hands, and the knights in armor stepped forward to grab Alicia’s arms again.
‘Don’t!’
Alicia knows what kind of fate awaits her if she is taken away now.
‘No, absolutely do not obey them!’
[Let go! I’m innocent, you can execute me! You can’t execute me, you can’t… woo woo woo!]
The guard rudely covered Alicia’s mouth and forcibly dragged her away. She struggled desperately and was dragged away abruptly.
On the way, she heard the onlookers talking about her:
[This eldest lady is really sad, she was blessed with such a beautiful face in vain.]
[She deserved it. You should be punished if you do something wrong and the crime of bullying the Holy Maiden of Light makes her worthy of death!]
[Bullying… It’s not because the backer fell that she was left in this state. Duke Eisen is also too ambitious, conspiring to usurp the throne.]
[Look, she’s still struggling, it’s really ugly.]
[Of course, she’ll struggle. After all, she’s going to be sent to the guillotine. How could the eldest lady, who is pampered on weekdays, not be afraid?]
Alicia tried to hold the ground tightly, but even though the nails of her ten fingers were bleeding, she was unable to resist and was dragged into the cell just like that.
—-
After being thrown into her cell, Alicia still slammed on the door with all her might, but even though her hands were swollen and red, there was no response.
But she knows that the door would definitely open once and this is her only chance of escaping.
After about an hour, a guard opened the door and delivered a bowl of pork chop rice. Alicia seized the opportunity and firmly grasped the guard’s feet.
[Don’t go, Lord Guard, I was wrongly convicted!]
[Get lost!]
The guard kicked Alicia in the face and felt relieved. Then he took the opportunity to escape and closed the door before leaving.
After her struggle, the pork chop rice on the ground was scattered all over the floor.
At this time, Alicia’s face was in great pain from being kicked by the heavily armored guard. Her hands were swollen, her nails still bleeding, and her stomach growling with hunger.
The physical and mental torture made her cry but after crying for a long time, she didn’t even have the strength to cry more.
After an unknown amount of time, Alicia felt the strength in her body declining and she gradually lost control over her body. Everything is moving away from her.
Maybe it’s because of the beating or because of starving, either way, she is already dying.
If she dies here, she won’t have to go through the terrifying guillotine and be publicly executed in front of everyone.
In this way, it doesn’t seem too bad.
Thinking of it like this, Alicia’s consciousness fell into the embrace of the endless darkness once again but… this time may be different.
