Could it be that she hadn’t combed her hair properly?

Xie Wanying touched her own braid, which she did frequently. The laughter in the classroom became even louder as a result of her actions. Her hand stiffened, as if she realized what was going on.

Creak—

Someone entered after the classroom door made a noise.

The bustle and laughter in the classroom had come to an end. This meant that the person who came in should be their counselor.

The man who walked in was around twenty years old, well-built, and sported trendy bangs. No glasses, no short-sleeved shirt, and no black jeans. His phoenix red eyes had risen to the temples. He appeared nerdy.

He seemed to be a trendy young scholar who appeared to jump from the book to reality, which was amazing.

(TL/N: In Chinese culture, the red phoenix eye is considered the ideal shape; if you are born with it, you are said to have a charming beauty and wisdom. This eye shape is shared by many Chinese beauties and legendary figures.)

Some students appeared to recognize the man and whispered, “Our counselor is the head of the faculty, isn’t he?”

Those who come to study at the Guoxie University must be interested in the Guoxie University. It was not surprising that the pupils had extensive knowledge about Guoxie University prior to their admission.

However, this type of information was typically found exclusively in Guoxie University’s internal records, unless the student knew an employee already.

Xie Wanying did not have access to this resource. First, she was the daughter of a truck driver, and second, her former residence was located far from the capital.

“Isn’t our counselor the Chief Faculty?”

Chief faculty?

Was this true?

Xie Wanying pondered the background and demeanor of the class counselor in her head. It was essential for university students to have a positive relationship with their counselor.

“Didn’t you say the Chief Faculty would be our counselor?”

Others continued their conversation about the counselor in a hushed tone, as everyone there was aware of the significance of the counselor.

“I was informed last night. I was terrified when I heard it.”

“How is he?” This was a question posed by someone who was unaware of the origin of their counselor.

“You know when he tells about himself,” Those in the know must maintain secrecy so that the counselor’s secret was not easily revealed. If so, they would be beaten.

“Can you tell me what his name is?”

When someone came out, the young scholar on the podium spoke and said, “Want to know my name, I’m writing it on the chalkboard right now, you can read it.”

He deserved to be the head of the faculty. As long as he spoke, everyone had to listen to him. There was silence right away under the podium.

wooosh, wooosh!!

In the blackboard was a single line of words written with the chalk

Three words appeared in the eyes of Xie Wanying and other students: Ren Chongda.

“What do you think of my name?”

After Ren Chongda had flung the chalk, his finger knuckles began tapping on the chalkboard in the usual way.

No one dared to speak.

“When I stepped in, you were laughing over something. What was it?”

Ren Chongda asked.

Some of the new students squinted, others bowed their heads, and still others fidgeted with their pens.  They displayed a wide range of body positions. Except for Xie Wanying, who sat motionless in the middle.

Ren Chongda was staring at her.

All the other students were about to laugh again, struggling to hold back. “Do you have any idea why?”  Ren Chongda asked her alone.

Xie Wanying raised her eyelids and looked calmly at her instructor. He could not detect the tiniest movement in her eyes.

Ren Chongda was stunned by her eyes, and the corner of his mouth twitched.

“It seems you know.”

When he said this, the long-suppressed laughter in the classroom burst out again, and the entire room burst out laughing.
