The three musketeers (1)

Would Schoolmaster Ren give her the key?

Xie Wanying was not an arrogant little princess, never thought that she could have a big face, and frankly replied, “Impossible.”

Hearing her answer, Zhao Zhaowei and others had already expected it, because after a few words of conversation, they could feel that she was very cautious in doing things and talking, which was very different from girls of her age.

“It’s okay, you can joke around with him if you encounter the Schoolmaster Ren. He does not look serious, but he also speaks funny. Maybe you will meet the Three swordsmen.” Zhao Zhaowei said.

Three swordsmen?

“The Three musketeers refers to Ren Chongda, Zhu Huicang and Cao Yong also known as Handsome Cao, the most famous in our school.”

Upon hearing the name Cao Yong, Xie Wanying immediately remembered the face of the handsome man in the emergency room of her cousin’s hospital that night.

“Everyone said that Handsome Cao is very powerful.” Feng Yicong asked Zhao Zhaowei whether the rumor was true or not.

“He is amazing. He was already a super top student at our school, but he was sent by the school to study abroad. After returning, he immediately went to neurosurgery. Neurosurgery is a late-developing department in our domestic medical community; hence, it requires a late-developing expertise. Many people privately said that the dean of our hospital in the future may be Handsome Cao.”

Zhao Zhaowei’s seemingly gossipy argument attracted the great attention of the surrounding students.

A senior brother who might be the dean in the future, who wouldn’t want to curry favor?

“How do you know Handsome Cao?” Feng Yicong and the others asked with interest.

“Schoolmaster Ren and Handsome Cao are good friends. They occasionally eat in the alley that connects our school  and the hospital. If you encounter them, it’s good to say hello.” Zhao Zhaowei gave advice to his classmates. “If you’re fortunate, you might leave an impression on him, leading to a future internship or possibly a job in the affiliated hospital.”

After listening to this, Xie Wanying and her classmates realized that even if it was an eight-year class, it would not be easy to stay in the affiliated hospital after graduation.

He  was the top among the best medical schools in the country, and the Guoxie Hospital was the most famous tertiary general hospital in the country, known as the last hope for sick patients in the medical field. The place where the most elite talents of the nation’s medical graduates stay.

One of the students received a message from the monitor on his mobile phone and said to his classmates, “The monitor said that he had to wait in line for the military training uniforms, so he couldn’t return any time soon. He advised everyone to go back to the dormitory, and he would send them to our dormitory in the afternoon or tonight.”

“The monitor is a good guy!”

One by one, everyone shouted like this.

Seeing the mobile phone, Xie Wanying remembered to call her mother and asked Zhao Zhaowei, “Where is the cheapest place to make a phone call?”

“It’s your first time, you didn’t know. First and foremost,  you need to get an IC card. It’s less expensive to buy it at sidewalk restaurants than in the supermarket. Then, go to the hospital at night to look for the machine that accepts IC phone cards. In the evening, there are no more patients in the outpatient department of the hospital, so there is no line, which is better than the phone booth outside.”

“Thanks!”

After that, Xie Wanying followed her classmates back to the dorm. Now, she peered up in the room’s two empty beds.#pleasereadthischaptertatfanstranslations.com

She remembered that it was actually the case.

She was in the same dormitory with two senior sisters. The two sisters went to clinical practice, so they couldn’t come back to the dormitory.

When she touched the mosquito nets that her older sisters had hung, the dust was full which showed how busy the medical students who went into clinical practice were.

Without a roommate to accompany her to dinner, Xie Wanying always went back to her dormitory to eat after dinner. She slept in the afternoon and took time to go to the Affiliated Hospital in the evening and call home.
