First Aid Trauma (4)

There was a rumor that the train station later sent her a pennant to reward her for saving people with medical technology, even so, no one really believed this rumor — they always thought that the train station had made a mistake. But looking at her now, she absolutely knew what she was doing.

Seeing that she wanted to put the gauze and bandages on the patient’s thigh on her own, Yue Wentong put forward a different opinion, “Hey, you know, we’re just freshmen. It’s better to ask our instructor how to deal with it first.”

He then reached for his cell phone and dialed the number of Counselor Ren Chongda. Xie Wanying ignored him and aimed for the femoral artery to staunch the bleeding, applying the gauze block and two bundles of bandages to the bleeding site first. Eventually, the bleeding stopped.

Beep beep. Yue Wentong’s Nokia phone rang.

Zhang Xiaohui entered the Awang Stir-Fry Restaurant after Xie Wanying left and brought two girl friends with her. She brushed her long hair as she called out to one of the three instructors who were dining there, “Senior Brother Cao!”

That’s correct. Cao Yong, Ren Chongda, and Zhu Huicang were the first to cry out when these three students came to see them but actually only had interest in Cao Yong. Xie Wanying was really the only one who had eyes for Zhu Huicang instead of him.

The handsome Cao Yong did not raise his head and buried himself in rice since he wanted to eat first. Zhang Xiaohui and the other two stood there awkwardly for a few moments before finally acknowledging Zhu Huicang and Ren Chongda. “Senior Brother Zhu, Senior Brother Ren.”

“You may call me instructor,” Zhu Huicang quickly corrected her.

The senior-junior term shouldn’t be used in just any circumstances. If you do it so casually, then you could even call a pig, dog, or goat a senior or junior — the terms would be a laughingstock by then.

Every year, there are more than thousands of students who graduate from Guoxie University. Just by counting them, Zhu Huicang could say that there were already more than a thousand seniors and juniors, so he couldn’t just let people all over the street call him senior.

Also, a senior is like a close family member.

Learning from our predecessors, the term ‘instructor’ should be the only term. No one would think you’re wrong if you call an old master who fixes bikes an instructor.

Zhang Xiaohui’s pale face flushed upon hearing Zhu Huicang’s words.

Everyone knew it was difficult to talk to Cao Yong, but she didn’t expect the other two musketeers to be the same.

Even though she was dubbed the ‘school beauty,’ she found it difficult to approach one of the three musketeers.

She’s a junior this year and would soon begin her medical internship. Zhang Xiaohui was definitely anxious, otherwise she wouldn’t have rushed over to greet Cao Yong.

The internship period was significant enough to determine whether she would stay or leave. Staying in a university or a hospital directly under medical school is the best path for medical graduates to find employment. But staying in university is the hardest thing to do because one must have academic qualifications.

Zhang Xiaohui might have taken the title ‘school beauty,’ but she only took an undergraduate course. It’s almost impossible for her to stay in the university, so she could only try to win over the instructors to see if she could stay in the hospital in her own sneaky way.

But the Three Musketeers didn’t know anything about her, even the fact that she was the school beauty.

Listening to these students, Zhu Huicang realized that he barely knew them. He asked them carefully, “What’s your major? Have you been to a medical internship? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you.”

Zhang Xiaohui was very embarrassed.  They didn’t even recognize her as the school beauty.

The two girls who accompanied Zhang Xiaohui introduced her, “Dr. Zhu, this is Xiaohui. If you have been in and out of our medical school, you should’ve heard our school’s radio broadcast — she’s the one broadcasting the news every day! She’s also in our school art troupe. Every time our school holds a cultural performance, she’d be one of the performers for sure. Oh, and she’s a stage host, too!”
