I took a break off of translating to celebrate the holidays and get ready for the next school semester. However, due to school starting again soon, I will be switching to uploading at least two chapters by the end of each month unfortunately.

When I first picked up this series, this was my first time ever doing something like this, so I wasn’t sure how to really use wordpress. However, I’m trying to tweak the formatting so that it’d be a smoother reading experience.

So far, I’ve reformatted and corrected the translations for chapters 008 to chapter 012. If you read those chapters before December 22, 2021, I recommend skimming them over again if you like.

The Character List is a work in progress as well, and I’m hoping to add a map of sorts later down the line. Of course, the drawings will just be my interpretation based on what the novel described.

Under the scorching eyes of his confidante, Ji Heng calmly withdrew his hand and continued to discuss the matter: “I inquired, and the Chief Guard handles all punishments. Countless people have died under his hands.”

Su Er was not that surprised. It was likely they only survived in the beginning because the physical strength of players was higher than that of ordinary people. Thus, no matter who (T/N: among the ordinary inhabitants of the game world) suffered under the whip, it wasn’t likely they’d survive. However, his gaze on the other party did not change in the slightest.

More accurately: “To be specific, the physical fitness of players is higher than that of ordinary people.”
No matter who suffered the whip, they may not be able to survive.

Ji Heng was given a bad person card for no reason, but he did not care too much about it: “I’ll go find someone to make the pendant (T/N: replica) and visit the Chief Guard along the way.”

“We may be rushed for time,” Su Er said, “It’ll be more convenient to find someone to cooperate with.”

Ji Heng reminded him: “Try not to make use of other people’s hands in the game. It’ll be good during settlement.”

T/N: Try not to rely too much on others during the game or you may lose points during settlement

As soon as he left, the surroundings suddenly became much quieter. Su Er sat in the house for a while until he saw a figure through the open window. Going out to check, he didn’t know when the old lady had left her room. She stared gloomily at some wildflowers by the wall.

“The weather is good today. Why don’t you walk with me?” She asked.

Su Er thought for a moment and followed.

The old lady spoke about things long passed, the hopeless love of youth, the harsh treatment of her husband after marriage, the child who refused to be disciplined, and so on. In just a short amount of time, she had finished talking about most of her life.

Stopping in front of a small door to a hut, the old lady stretched out her hand to push it in. There was a straw mat on the floor of the room that was about 10 meters long. After moving it aside, a jar of wine was exposed.

“Jun’er always thought that I poisoned his father, but it was actually alcohol poisoning.” The old lady took off the red silk stuffed on top of it, and the mellow fragrance of wine wafted out.

“Jun’er” is referring to Zhou Linjun. The “er” suffix is used to denote fondness towards a person, especially if they are a younger family member or a close junior.
Ironic here since she has no affection towards him.

She went to the yard to get a small cup. After she scooped the wine into the cup, she handed it to Su Er: “Try it.”

Su Er refused straightforwardly.

The old lady drank it herself: “Don’t worry, it’s not poisonous. I’m just afraid that one day I will die at the hands of a ghost. It’s a pity to waste this wine.”

She gave him another glass.

Su Er still didn’t drink.

The old lady didn’t insist on him drinking again, and they soon got up to leave. However, as she reached the entrance to the small room, the old lady whisked out a sharp blade from her sleeve and thrust it towards the back of Su Er’s head.

Su Er was already on guard around her and spun his head to avoid it. He ran out into the yard, and in a blink of an eye, the distance between the two had widened by over 10 meters.

Out of all of his deceptive acts so far, none surprised her as much as it did at that time. The old lady’s eyelids trembled. Young people with a little courage would subconsciously choose to snatch the dagger or hit her with the back of the hand. After seeing him run without the slightest hesitation, she couldn’t think of anything to say.

This is a matter of life and death, and the attacker is an old woman. Su Er’s cowardice is the most shocking to her even more than when he dressed up as a girl to trick her into marrying him to her son.
I couldn’t find any sensical translation for “扎空” (Pinyin: zhākōng) that fit in context. The closest I could find was “扎空枪,” which means a feint or deceptive action. However, 枪 is not in the raws.

At that moment, Su Er started his theoretical analysis with her from a safe distance: “The town’s upper limit on alcohol consumption makes it difficult to reach the conditions for alcohol poisoning. Next time, find a better reason.”

T/N: Alcohol poisoning occurs when you drink a large amount of alcohol, which is impossible here. She probably wasn’t expecting someone who supposedly grew up as an orphan to have any knowledge of alcohol poisoning since again most orphans in the town only finished middle school.

The old lady was old but still had good eyesight. She clearly saw the ridicule in his eyes: “Did you know I was going to kill you?”

Su Er nodded: “With me here, that ghost will certainly come back tonight. Naturally, you can’t escape disaster.”

As they continued to stare at each other, Su Er spread out his hands (T/N: as if placating): “Don’t get agitated and try to view this situation from a different angle. If the ghost looks for me, he won’t care about you.”

Actually, the biggest reason the old lady wanted to kill Su Er was that she was afraid that he would snatch her pendant. There were two strong young boys before, so she couldn’t deal with them. However, now that one had gone out to do something, she could solve them separately.

It’s just a pity… she was old, and her physical strength was a severe handicap.

“是硬伤” – hard injury

Of course, she also miscalculated Su Er. According to the original plan, the other party’s focus would be on whether the wine was poisoned or not. Since he’d be incredibly tense at that time, he’d be the most relaxed the second before they left (T/N: when he saw nothing happened with the wine).

More accurately: “Since his mind would be highly concentrated at that time.”

Su Er took a small step forward, and the old lady reflexively stepped back, almost tripping over the (T/N: door’s) threshold.

“You’re tired,” he changed to speak more respectfully. “It’s better to go back to your room and rest.”

尊称 – to address respectfully
He changed the way he addressed her to be more respectful

Unsure of what he was thinking, the old lady looked warily at Su Er and did not loosen her grasp on the blade until she had entered her room again.

After the door closed, Su Er’s face became solemn. He was sitting in the yard and reading some brochures to pass the time when he heard a loud commotion from outside. Almost all the families living in the distance had left their homes and were hurrying in one direction.

Su Er went out and stopped one person: “Excuse me, what happened?”

“Last night, the three brothers of the Li family had suffered a stroke! Two others suddenly died too.”

Su Er was skeptical: “This is too unfortunate.”

But he knew it had something to do with Li Shouzhang.

“The Li family is very virtuous, so we’re going to visit them now…” Before his words were finished, the people in front urged them to leave quickly.

The man stopped talking to Su Er and hurried back.

“Bah!” The old lady had heard voices and opened the door to see this scene. Her expression was disdainful: “What visit? Obviously, I want to be chosen as the Chief Guard, so I’m going to see if my competitors are on the verge of death.”

不行了 – on the point of death; dying.
She is speaking as if she is in the man’s shoes to give the real reason why he and several others are rushing to the Li family house.

Su Er: “It’s so strange. Will no one investigate?”

The old lady’s tone was icy: “They all said it was an accident, not a murder.”

When Su Er frowned, the corners of her mouth hooked up: “Everyone in this town follows the rules. Where can there be murderers?”

“Hooked the corners of the mouth” means to smile. It’s a description I’ve really only seen coming from CN novels.

The words were inexplicably ironic coming from her mouth.

Su Er quickly figured out that it was very common for children to be killed by their parents when they made mistakes. In turn, many townsfolk died at the hands of the Chief Guard. There was no law, only rules. This was a truly terrible place.

On second thought, not long after Ji Heng left, the Li family’s three brothers were dealt with. Most of the time, he explained that Wen Buyu instigated Li Shouzhang to move his hand.

This sentence is a little confusing but basically saying even though Ji Heng said Wen Buyu was the one influencing Li Shouzhang, Ji Heng was the one using them to reap the most benefits.

Sure enough, Ji Heng was also a rotten person.

“蔫坏” – withered. “蔫坏的那个” – the rotten one. The following two terms are related but do not appear in the raws:
“特蔫坏” is used to describe someone as very bad, while “蔫儿坏” means to appear genuine but actually nasty or devious.

Speak of righteous matters and the righteous Lord will come. Holding a wooden box in his hand, Ji Heng calmly crossed the courtyard’s entrance.

More accurately: “As he thought, the lord came.” However, the raws also had “正,” meaning just or upright.
More accurately: “Ji Heng slowly crossed the threshold with an unhurried pace.” Slowly and unhurried are basically same thing, so I changed it to calmly.

Su Er: “So fast?”

Ji Heng: “To make great profits, there is nothing that can’t be done.”

Anyway, this would be their last day in the copy. The remaining coins would be useless, so he went to Wen Buyu, pooled the money together, and gave it all to the jade jeweler.

T/N: The currency used within this world given by the system.
“玉匠” – jade craftsman, jade artisan, jade carpenter.
This was the last day because the game ends after the vote results are announced.

An instant later, he stated with a serious face: “I passed by the Chief Guard’s house on my way here. He was so shocked by the grievous news of the three Li family brothers that his heart gave out and his body suddenly collapsed.”

“…”

Su Er gave him a deep look but did not question his story.

Ji Heng said the key point: “When I got back from the jeweler, the Chief Guard had already announced that he would advance the vote.”

Su Er frowned as he thought: “If I hadn’t run for Chief Guard you could have passed the clearance requirements two days earlier.”

Let the Chief Guard lie ill in bed and solve the three brothers of the Li family. Then send Li Shouzhang to the top position and get it all done in one go.

Ji Heng shook his head: “The host calls this world a game. The degree to which we explore the world is very important.”

For example, Su Er dug out the hidden boss that was the Ghost King, which is conducive to the final settlement (T/N: of points).

With that, he handed over the pendant that was in the wooden box.

The old lady almost assassinated Su Er, so he naturally wouldn’t hold back. He found a hatchet used to cut firewood and kicked her door open. Under the horrified gaze of the old lady, he knocked her unconscious.

More accurately: “Su Er was almost assassinated by the old lady, so naturally he wouldn’t stay his hand.”

After replacing the pendant, he gave it to Ji Heng.

Ji Heng: “You keep it.”

Su Er hesitated a little. He’d first used half of the ghost bone, and now he received the pendant. It felt somewhat unreasonable.

“It takes time to cultivate new members,” Ji Heng said directly. “You are currently the weakest in the team, and you must survive.”

Su Er: “I’m worried about being robbed.”

Ji Heng didn’t agree: “Then grab it back and let the plunderer pay with interest.”

The voting time was set for the afternoon. The Chief Guard was already in an awful state and had difficulty speaking.

Hearing the people gossiping on the street, Su Er had to ask: “Just what did you do to the Chief Guard?”

“I guided a spirit that once died unjustly in the Chief Guard’s hands to his residence,” Ji Heng said indifferently. “The Yin energy is too strong, so the human body won’t be able to tolerate it for a while.”

Living people led ghosts?

Su Er couldn’t help glancing at him.

The normally calm town suddenly became a little lively due to the series of unexpected accidents. They could even hear people in the place the old lady lived in isolation. However, here in the graveyard, it remained so terribly quiet.

Since the last time they dug out the coffin, it rested on top of the loess (T/N: loose soil). Su Er and Ji Heng looked at each other before stepping forward and knocking gently.

The coffin trembled violently, and Su Er hurriedly stepped back. Nevertheless, he still ended up covered in dust.

Su Er swallowed the smell of dirt in his mouth: “According to the old agreement, you will vote for me to be the Chief Guard.”

If it was any other ghost, Su Er would not believe it, but the Ghost King’s obsession was to obey the rules (T/N: honor his word). Even if it didn’t want to, it must act in opposition to what was in its heart.

There was no response from the coffin. Su Er saw this as acquiescence and continued: “The vote is this afternoon. Please keep your promise.”

Acquiescence – reluctant agreement

After a long time, a hoarse voice finally came: “There are still two days left before the election for the Chief Guard.”

Su Er: “You overslept.”

“…”

With a light cough, Su Er changed his words: “I’m kidding. In fact, the Chief Guard is seriously ill, so the voting day has been advanced.”

“Seriously ill?” The hoarse voice revealed a sharpness for the first time.

Su Er spoke without changing his expression. “If I were more cruel, I would have told you at the end of the election. By then, if I wasn’t Chief Guard, you would have breached our contract.” He closed his eyes, sighed, and slowly opened them again: “As husband and wife, I came here to inform you.”

As soon as those words fell, the branches began to sway around him. A strong wind blew towards them, causing huge tremors through the fallen leaves, and Su Er felt the wound on his arm open again. He originally wanted to stand with his hands down to create the illusion of dominance, but the wind was too violent and pushed him back repeatedly.

He ended up retreating to Ji Heng’s side. The latter grabbed him and laughed playfully.

Su Er touched the tip of his nose and formulated a new life plan: lay low!

T/N: Touching the tip of the nose is also an act that indicated embarrassment.
“猥琐发育,不要浪!”is a phrase meaning “wretched development, don’t cause waves!” It is an internet buzzword meaning “to be low-key,” “don’t be impulsive,” “don’t be blind.” It first appeared as a voice-over line in the popular TenCent game “King of Glory,” and has been used by gamers to remind teammates to lay low, progress steadily and avoid direct battles against strong enemies.

When he made up his mind, the coffin opened a crack: “Red paper.”

Just two words, yet they carried a sharp killing intent.

Su Er took the red papers from Ji Heng. He tentatively stepped closer to the coffin and handed them over. A wretched hand of bones extended out from the crack, and there was a moment when the sharp finger bone could almost touch the fragile pulse (T/N: in Su Er’s wrist).

“Then I will go back and wait for the results,” Su Er said before leaving. “Likewise, I will remove the pendant from the old lady’s grasp for you.”

It could be considered a sign of weakness that allowed both sides to take a step down.

They no longer have to worry about Zhou Linjun killing Su Er by using the excuse of Su Er being an accessory for murder against his mother-in-law because by time he kills the old lady, Su Er would have left the game.
Su Er also doesn’t want to care for the old lady anymore since she also wanted to kill him.

It was not until they were thoroughly away from the graveyard that Su Er said: “The old lady wants to kill me, and the Ghost King will settle her. The Chief Guard is seriously ill, so I’ve returned the lashings received when I arrived.” After a pause he sighed and looked up at the sky: “What is said in the book is right. Good and evil will be rewarded.”

Excerpt from 《华胥引》 (Pinyin: “Hua Xuyin”) by Tang Qigongzi: “Good and evil will be rewarded in the end, and the way of heaven is good for reincarnation. If you don’t believe this, look up and see who the heaven will forgive.”
It means “if you do good, you will get good karma as a result, and if you do bad, you will get bad karma as a result. If you don’t believe this, look at the people around and see if the cycle of karma has forgiven them.”
T/N: “The book is right.” Su Er is basically saying the morals taught in school is correct.

It made sense, but after Ji Heng heard these words, he couldn’t tell who the good party was for a while.

The afternoon sun was scorching and poisonous. Someone supported the Chief Guard to stand in front of the ancestral hall with the ballot box in front of him.

The surroundings were crowded with townsfolk who stared at the ballot box, which was not half as high as a person with bated breath and shining eyes, as if looking at a rare treasure. The other players had arrived long ago, and Wen Buyu was the first to find a pleasant spot… Standing on a boulder under an ancient tree. It protected her from the crowd and gave her a broad view.

Bated breath means to hold their breath (i.e. in excitement or anticipation)

Bai Yan was here too. Su Er had almost forgotten there was such a player, and the latter also felt very embarrassed. On the third day, she had to lie in bed most of the time because her wound became infected. She thought she would die in this game, but unexpectedly, she’d lay down all the way to victory.

Seeing Ji Heng and Su Er, Bai Yan waved them over and whispered: “Why didn’t you come earlier? All the votes have been cast.”

“怎么才来?” Could be: Why did you just come?

She had followed Wen Buyu to vote for Su Er.

Su Er only said he had gone to visit a place and then looked at Shen Jiangbei and Wan Yi.

“We chose you.” Wan Yi smiled.

Ji Heng definitely had something to do with the voting date being advanced. Thinking back, they’d made low-level mistakes in the beginning. They’d only considered the candidates and completely ignored the fact the voting time could be pushed forward through human interference.

“At the beginning” refers more to the physical placement of objects or matter in the start of something (like chapter one of a book), while “In the beginning” refers to an event or incident that occurred at an earlier time (such as the events itself that occurred in the beginning of the book to the character).

As they were talking, huge grey clouds drifted across the sky, covering up the blistering sun in an instant.

The weather cooled down, and the Chief Guard felt much better without the sun bearing down on him.

Su Er stared at the ballot box. He wondered if it was an illusion, but the box seemed to move forward. Before he could open his mouth, Ji Heng put his index finger on his lips: “Shhh.”

He raised his arm and pointed into the distance.

More accurately: “He pointed towards a direction.”

Looking along (T/N: that direction), there was more than half a skeleton crawling towards the ballot box. The bottom of the box was originally made with half of Zhou Linjun’s bones, and now they were like the two poles of a magnet.

The last sentence ended with the phrase: “with both ends firmly glued together.” However, I couldn’t make sense of it. Might be my brain decided to stop comprehending words again lol

Such a horrible image, yet the townspeople and nearest guards did not seem to notice it. Su Er peered closely into the eyes of those around him and saw they were glazed over with a small red dot in their depths.

Wen Buyu also felt dizzy and struggled to say, “This must be a trick by that ghost.”

Finally, she forced herself to look away, but when she saw that Su Er was still standing as if he was completely unaffected, she couldn’t help but wonder. Based on force value, this person was obviously the weakest, so out of the two of them, why was she the only one affected? (24)

T/N: She is not referring to the state of the other players here. She is only comparing herself and Su Er, so the other players may be in a worse or better state than her.

Su Er could barely stay awake, relying on self-electrocution to survive.

Fortunately, this trance did not last very long. When the dark clouds gradually dissipated, he saw hundreds of red papers in the ballot box, though the red color quickly faded away, and they ended up looking no different from the ordinary ballot papers.

T/N: Originally, sentence said “this period of time,” but I changed it to “this trance”

As the skeleton left, it stopped by Su Er’s side, probably contemplating whether to use this opportunity to kill him.

Ji Heng said coldly: “The candidate for the Chief Guard’s position has not yet been announced.”

The skeleton was unwilling but knew its trip during the day would cause it to fall back into a deep sleep in advance. Weighing its two options, it chose to kill the old woman first.

“I will remember you.”

It dragged itself a certain distance when it turned back and swiped at Su Er’s arm with lightning speed.

If life couldn’t be taken away, it was okay to teach some lessons.

Seeming to have known it would do this, Su Er had already stepped back before the skeleton could turn back. The Ghost King’s outstretched hand froze midair, and it was sluggish for a moment.

Su Er gasped: “Husband and wife are of one heart. You and I have a tacit understanding.”

Now the Ghost King was only a short stretch away from Wen Buyu, whose legs weakened in fear. To their relief, the skeleton finally gave up on attacking and quickly disappeared on its way back down the road.

In fact, even if he didn’t dodge, the pendant wouldn’t allow the Ghost King to land a blow, but he didn’t want to expose the existence of props.

Ji Heng walked over and whispered a reminder: “The protection that thing can give you is probably not even one-tenth of the effect it had when the old lady wore it.”

The implication was that again, he should not rely too much on props.

Su Er was startled but then nodded, expressing he understood clearly. The old lady and Ghost King had the cause and effect of being a mother and child. The pendant was infused with umbilical cord blood, so naturally it could protect her life.

“心里跟明镜似的” – “his heart was like a mirror.” This is a phrase meaning to be very clear on the truth of something. “The mind is very clear;” “I understand in my heart”

The townsfolk gradually regained awareness. The Chief Guard asked Li Shouzhang to count the votes while the rest of the people gradually dispersed. Before leaving, some greedily glanced at the ballot box, having unrealistic dreams of being the Chief Guard.

Before Li Shouzhang entered the tally, he couldn’t help glancing at Wen Buyu. The latter had promised this morning that she would leave this place after the Chief Guard election was over, and the murder of his father would forever be buried underground with the funeral.

The votes were scattered. The three brothers of the Li family had the highest popularity, but after the accident, the townsfolk could only choose other people. Adding the fact that they advanced the voting time without warning, most people just got together in groups and voted for the ones closest to them.

With the help of the Ghost King, Su Er won by a vast margin.

The unexpected outcome severely shocked the Chief Guard, who coughed several times and pressed down on his chest.

More accurately: “After seeing the result, the Chief Guard coughed several times and covered his chest, shocked by the unexpected candidate.”

Li Shouzhang knew this would be the result for a long time, but his face was still unsightly. If they did not change the place in the middle, he could have built up momentum with his father’s death, won the sympathy of the townspeople, and became the Chief Guard. Now he could only watch this position fall into the hands of others.

More accurately: “Now I could only watch this position fall to other families.”

Reluctance prompted him to say: “These votes… aren’t they questionable?”

The Chief Guard’s face changed and became cold. The heavy yin energy that had entered his body already made his complexion pale normally. Now you couldn’t even see the color of blood on his face. He uttered in a low voice: “Who gave you the courage to question the vote!”

If he wasn’t currently lacking strength, he would have hit him with the whip by now.

The ingrained fear Li Shouzhang held for the Chief Guard made him shut up obediently.

“Whoever has the most votes wins.” The Chief Guard lowered his head and a strange laugh squeezed out of his throat: “It doesn’t matter. As Chief Guard, you’re not allowed to make even the slightest of mistakes from now on.”

He tasted this truth better than anyone.

More accurately: “He felt this taste more than anyone.”
T/N: It probably tastes pretty bitter

Later in the afternoon, he announced the new Chief Guard in front of everyone.

This was an extremely important moment, so even if people held doubts in their minds, no one dared to question them publicly.

Su Er stood beside the Chief Guard, his eyes sweeping across the faces in the crowd expressionlessly. During this period, he only spoke a few short words. The former Chief Guard was also in poor health and needed support to stand, so the succession ceremony ended in a hurry.

This suited the players very well. The sun would set before long, and they didn’t know what unexpected things would happen at night.

With the help of Li Shouzhang, the former Chief Guard left, and the townsfolk also dispersed.

Wen Buyu asked the other players for advice: “Go back to the courtyard?”

T/N: The initial dilapidated yard they were assigned to in the beginning of the arc

Wan Yi shook his head: “The host will find us.”

Just as he said it, Mr. Shuhai appeared in front of them.

“Congratulations on clearing the game,” he said. When his gaze paused on Su Er, a murderous intent burst out.

This was the same expression Su Er had seen on the Rose Gentleman.

“Life is full of encounters, and nothing is absolute,” Mr. Shuhai said coldly. “I look forward to the day I meet you again.”

“山水有相逢” – “The mountains and rivers meet.”
It means that there will always be encounters in life and opportunities to deal with each other, so people shouldn’t talk in absolutes.
Alternatively, it could mean “no matter how far apart we become, we will finally meet again.”
In plain modern Chinese: “Even if we are separated by thousands of mountains and rivers, one day we will meet again.”

With a flick of his sleeves, gleams of light enveloped the players’ bodies, and their forms gradually faded away.

They did not immediately leave the world of Seven Days, Seven Nights. Just like after the tutorial, Su Er once again stood in a clearing. The pungent smell of blood reached his nose, and he turned to find a wounded woman lying under a tree near to him, though the wound was healing at a speed visible to the naked eye. Next to her was a girl who couldn’t stop weeping.

“Fortunately, I survived,” the injured woman comforted her companion.

Except for Ge Xuyan, Su Er was surrounded by the players who’d entered the same instance as him.

Wen Buyu couldn’t wait to check the settled points. Unexpectedly, the normally gloomy sky above them suddenly became darker, with black clouds converging like ink.

Su Er’s eyelid twitched… This scene seemed familiar.

Unsurprisingly, the frosty mechanical chime sounded throughout the world: [ Congratulations to the player Su Er for obtaining the achievement 【The Lost Lover 】]

【消失的爱人】 – Disappearance of the spouse

For tens of seconds, after the announcement ended, there was no sound in the surroundings.

The girl who had been crying before also rubbed away the tears in her eyes with her sleeve and looked around incredulously. Since the broadcast just ended, the player mentioned should have just exited a game and might even be in the current vicinity.

Su Er had been famous once before when what he did in the rookie field was shown through the water curtain, so soon someone recognized him.

Ji Heng suddenly said, “Come with me.”

Su Er followed without hesitation.

The probing stares behind him pierced his back like a knife. If they hadn’t been scared by Ji Heng, the players would have long surrounded Su Er to ask about the achievements.

Not wanting to get into trouble, Wen Buyu didn’t reveal the fact she had entered a game with Su Er. While everyone’s attention was focused elsewhere, she quickly left the game.

At the supply station for Return for the Grave.

T/N: The organization’s base that Su Er first went to in Chapter 009.

There were only three members in the tent. One saw them enter and said: “There is hot water on the table.”

Su Er was a little thirsty. After letting the cup warm up more in his hands, he took a sip.

The three people had also heard the announcement, and their gazes were very complicated. The boss only had one achievement point, but Su Er, a newcomer, received a second one, becoming a dominant presence in this world.

T/N: Su Er is the first player to get more than one achievement.

Although they were taciturn, they still had some rudimentary curiosity.

A team member asked, “Can you tell us?”

The last game had other players who had organizations behind them. Su Er knew that even if he didn’t talk now, they would know soon enough.

T/N: Other players that were in the last game will eventually spread news to their organizations, so there isn’t a point in keeping it a secret.

“Everyone knows better than me that we gain achievement points by completing hidden conditions set by the game.” He paused and continued: “I just hit the mark by mistake.”

The team member who asked smiled bitterly, “Indeed, what people are afraid of is not the conditions being harsh but not knowing what the conditions even are.”

Just like the lunatic who murdered the rest of the players in the past, players could only keep trying new possibilities, so they were curious about what Su Er did. After all, this other world had existed for a very long time, and the experienced players had already done what they could.

More accurately: “After all, this game hasn’t existed for just a day or two, and the advanced players have basically done what they could.”

Su Er was a little conflicted. While he was thinking about how to phrase it, Ji Heng spoke for him: “He just found a Ghost King to marry. He was only married for three days before running away.”

For that Ghost King, was Su Er not the ‘lover that vanished?’

“…” The three tried to pull down the rising corners of their lips. “Boss, don’t make such jokes.”

More accurately: “The three members’ lips twitched” or “The team members pulled the corners of their mouths.”

Ji Heng said coldly: “I hosted the wedding.”

“…” The team members walked over to the table, drank three glasses of water, and toasted Su Er: “Strong!”

Su Er’s brain hurt.

Ji Heng pulled him back to reality with one sentence: “The charm value was worth the effort.”

Su Er looked down at his badge. The original ’59’ had been replaced by ’69.’

The author has something to say:

Ghost King: The evil wife is here, the evil wife is gone.
Ji Heng: Am I proud of the wedding I presided over?
