Chapter 37

The thing about having an eye in the sky was that all of us knew exactly what to expect. Barb and Ashley walked right into the trap with their eyes wide open, such was their faith in Lance and me.

Bit had made us aware of the guys stalking the girls while we were in the diner. As a group, we had decided on trapping the trappers. At the first opportunity, when we were free from observation Lance had sprinted away at a speed that left Barb and Ashley open-jawed and speechless for a moment. A quick hug and I speed off around in the other direction. We planned to parallel the girls as they walked home. Lance and I still had our heads-up-display thanks to Bit.

It did not take long until those questionable guys herded the girls into a dark, narrow alleyway. The two in the alley had already drawn knives, while the three corralling the girls and forcing them into the lane suddenly sported two baseball bats, and one short length of chain. The girls behaved as blooded veterans and calmly allowed themselves to be caught.

The guys with the knives almost popped their eyeballs from their sockets when I rounded the corner behind chainy and the two bats. One of the knife guy's popped out "Blimey who is the toff with the knockers!?" While they looked brighter than that lot yesterday, intelligent they were not. Everyone turned to stare at me leaving Lance a wide open opportunity to sneak up on the knife wielders.

"Bugger off lady, this ain't no concern of yours." The chatty knife wielder threatened, moving his knife side to side. There are pressure point along the shoulder that can be pinched to relieve pain, but when those same points are tweaked with intent to paralyze, well the two knife wielders both dropped their knives from nerveless arms that fell to their sides.

The girls trotted right past the two former knife wielders, who just stood there looking gobsmacked until both Barb and Ashley were safely behind Lance.

Chatty but knifeless who seemed to be the leader yelled out "Get the bitc—" as he collapsed soundlessly around a wickedly sneaky solar plexus blow from Lance's fist.

Lance grabbed the other knife wielder by the scruff of his throat and lifted him off the ground and just let him dangle unable to do anything but flail about helplessly in mid-air. When Lance did nothing but continue to hold him in the air, I saw Ashley go up and try to test his arm muscles, and when she could not flex his muscles any more than she could have flexed a steel I-beam, she just stood there open-mouthed.

I caught this in little flashes as I was involved with three thugs swinging baseball bats and chains. I had adopted Lance's dance move type defense. Swinging low while pivoting on one leg, the chain whistled past my nose. Diving over a fiercely swung bat to roll under another. I let them try to touch me, and 'try' was all that they could do. And after a few minutes, they were panting and exhausted. While I just stood there with not a hair out of place looking like I was ready for some formal event in my little black dress.

There were some loops attached to one of the buildings that Lance took advantage of. Shortly five guys were strung up by their hands and feet in a spread eagle position. They were off the ground, and all their weight was on their arms just like you see in old movies where they have dungeons while they interrogate the poor schmuck.

"I suggest you start talking," Lance said, "If you don't we will have to encourage you to spill your guts, of course," as he played with the knife, "we could just start out by picking one you to literally spill his guts all over the ground…."

Tilting his head slightly, Lance said, "Let me help you out. "Start off with why you have been stalking these two girls?"

Silence reigned.

Taking one the knives, Lance started to cut up the inseam of the one guy who seemed to be the leader. Opening his jeans as if opening a can. "I'm guessing that you knew what happened to these girls last night. And knowing that—you shouldn't have any problem imagining what they will want to do you once I finish opening up your jeans…." And Lance shut up and just kept cutting.

The youngest looking one's eyes were starting to show nothing but whites around his irises. He screamed out, "No, that was not us. They just hired us to find out where those girls are as they said they just want to talk to them. They don't believe in bug-eyed aliens beating up the gang. Please trust me, those guys belong to the nastiest biker gang on the east coast, and nobody has ever before made them look like fools before. If they had been killed for what they did fine, but they were simply humiliated, and the bosses cannot accept that!"

Lance sub-vocally sent, [Bit, send down our armor under remote control please.] Lance, copied me in the connection so I would know what he was up to. Then Lance snapped his fingers and said: "You mean these aliens?" And the wind blasted all the old newspapers and dust clear from the area as the suits arrived descending on fiery pillars.

Naturally, the suits just stood there silent waiting for Lance and Me to put them on. But Lance continued the psychological warfare. "Do you want us to let our friends come and have fun? They absolutely don't like guys who take advantage of girls. Or do you want to talk?" And it turned into a blab fest. All five of them were talking so fast that I could not track what was said. Luckily Bit could filter it all and brief us afterward. So we just let them spill their guts. When the youngest one started to make like that one Goonie in the movie of the same name and tell us every bad thing he had done for as far back as he could remember I started to feel for them. Not much mind you, but abject fear is hard to watch.

Bit compiled everything into a report for us. The basics are that the bosses of several of the eastern biker gangs were very upset because what was supposed to be a steam letting off party and reward for a few of the local groups. Instead, it turned out to be a butt whooping and face slapping fiasco.

The bosses wanted the girls involved—bad.
