Skyward Over God

Fei Lei woke up the next morning realizing that the cog had vanished he began searching the room like a mad man, he suddenly noticed that there was a Roman Numeral 1 number on the cog birth mark around his wrist.

"What happened?" Fei Lei scratched his head as he realized he could do nothing about it, Fei Lei sighed, "Well this sucks!"

Fei Lei had no idea what the cog was for, and now he had a tattoo appear on him over night, Fei Lei walked out and was greeted by the girls, after eating breakfast Fei Lei did his usual morning practices.

This time he was joined by Hina, Yan Mei watched on with a bit of jealousy when Hina asked, "That doesn't look like any of the breaths Teacher taught us. What is it?"

Fei Lei opened an eye and said, "Do you have a way to contact master? I know I'm still on my warrior's pilgrimage and I can't ask for help, but I want to give master something."

Fei Lei tossed over a leather scroll, Hina caught it and began to read through it, as a fellow practitioner of the 4 Season Breaths, Hina could truly see the value in what he handed over she quickly memorized the content and said, "I'll send this out immediately."

The girl whistled as a large falcon came in through the window, she held her arm out and handed the scroll off to it. Hina tied a note to the falcon's leg as took the scroll and flew away.

"Trained bird, huh?" Fei Lei said when Yan Mei sat next to Fei Lei and puffed her cheeks, "No fair!"

Fei Lei laughed and said, "You can read it too."

"Really?" Yan Mei asked with stars in her eyes.

"Sure! You just have to get Teacher to agree to take you in as your pupil!" Fei Lei teased her, getting her revenge, Yan Mei jumped on his back and bit his ear.

Fei Lei's hairs stood on end as he felt a shock run though his body, "I'm sorry! Call the bird back, I'll ask for Teacher's permission!"

Hina giggled at their lovey-dovey attitude and started to practice the Nature God's Breath, she felt her body grow lighter and was slowly being improved.

Hina looked to Fei Lei and smiled and thought, "I guess I have to keep my promise."

After their morning exercises they left to go back to the tournament grounds, many people had already gathered, but they still had a few hours until it got started.

Seeing several strong Mages in the crowd stood side by side preparing for their upcoming match, Fei Lei, Yan Mei, and Hina stood out quite a bit.

A group of men wearing waved pattered robes, walked up to them and a man with long green hair and the complexion of a maiden walked up to them, he was a standard thin lady killer, and was around the same age as Fei Lei, there were a few dozen girls swooning over him and moving around as crowd as he stopped in front of Hina.

"Hina, so good to see you here, and who is your lovely friend?" The man said staring and Yan Mei's body with a perverse look, even though he couldn't see her face because of the hood she wore, the curves outlined on her cloak was enough to make him lust after her.

Fei Lei frowned and stood in front of her, the man reeked of sex and blood, Fei Lei activated his Danger Sense Spell discovering a new use for it, using the spell to feel out the guy Fei Lei suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head and released the spell.

He didn't know if this was a warning for his level of threat or what he was trying to direct his senses towards, but only by repeatedly using and experimenting with the spell would come to understand how useful this spell was.

Hina scowled at the man that had approached and said, "Ugh, I thought I smelled trash."

The girls standing around the man Hina insulted frowned, "Don't you talk about Sheng Lu like that!"

"Just because you're the headmaster's favorite doesn't mean you're better than my Sheng Lu!"

Hina rolled her eyes and said, "You girls are blind, you don't even know what a real man should look like!"

Hina then pulled up Fei Lei's shirt and shouted, "See these abs, this is what a real man should look like! Not like the tooth pick mages being babied at school, and especially not some girl boy like Sheng Lu!"

Many of the girls shied away and covered their faces, a few of them peeking through them. "If you want catch my attention you should at least build a strong body," Hina said in a playful tone.

Fei Lei pulled his shirt down and both Yan Mei and he gave Hina an angry stare, Sheng Lu stared daggers at Fei Lei, "You're that Non-Elemental cheater from yesterday."

Fei Lei frowned and replied, "I am a Non-Elemental user, but I never cheated."

Sheng Lu ignored Fei Lei like he wasn't there and said, "Hina, I hope to see you join my party someday." Sheng Lu didn't actually have a party, it was more like his cronies and his harem, Hina wrapped her arm around Fei Lei and Hina, then smiled before saying, "How many time do I have to tell you, no? Besides I've already joined a team."

Everyone gasped, "That Hina joined a team?"

"No way she must be bluffing! My Hina would never!" One of the males from her Mage School laughed like he was losing his mind.

The crowd from her school gossiped around them, Fei Lei turned to Hina and asked, "Can you make him leave, he smells like he doesn't know how to bath, and he has a habit for killing, his last kill smells like a young woman."

"How dare you slander me! You look like a work slave with all those disgusting muscles, Hina you should keep better control over your servants!" Sheng Lu's eyes widened as he went on the defense, he had suddenly smelt the scent of death, he stared over to see Yan Mei pointing a flame arrow between his eyes, as she fired the shot Sheng Lu chanted a verse of an ancient language when a shield of water surrounded his body.

As the arrow made contact it evaporated the water canceling out their spells, Yan Mei's hood had blown back and showed her gorgeous appearance, the crowd was gasping at her beauty, while they gawked, Yan Mei had already drawn back her bow and aimed another shot at him.

Fei Lei placed his hand up and stopped her, he looked to Sheng Lu and smiled, "Call me a slave again and I will kill you."

As he warned Sheng Lu the crowd began erupting into laughter.

"Some shitty Non-Elementalist thinks he can beat our school's prodigy."

"Hahah, I can't believe an Adept thinks he can beat a Sorcerer!"

Yan Mei huffed as she undid her spell and said, "Scum like you has no right to insult my man!"

Everyone's jaw dropped at Yan Mei's announcement, Sheng Lu could feel a surge of jealously when he said, "Aren't you from the Huǒ clan?"

Yan Mei puffed her chest out and said, "I'm from the Yan Clan, my father is Yan Chi, and my grandfather is Huǒ Shu."

The crowd gasped when Sheng Lu bowed, "My apologies, I am Sheng Lu Sheng, form the Sheng clan's main-branch family."

"Second-rate noble family, I've never heard of you!" Yan Mei insulted Sheng Lu while crossing her arms and stomping her foot.

Sheng Lu's eye brow twitched, seeing his expression made Fei Lei laugh a little which made Sheng Lu even more embarrassed.

Sheng Lu frowned as he stared at Fei Lei with a venomous glare, He looked like he was about to strike when an older voice called out, "Enough!"

"Big brother Sheng Tai!" Sheng Lu called out with a happy grin.

An older looking version of Sheng Lu appeared, he had long green hair and snake viper like eyes, he was the same body type as Sheng Lu and smelled even worse than his little brother.

Fei Lei covered his nose and showed a disgusted look on his face and thought, "How many people has this guy killed? He smells worse than that bandit leader." The worst part of it was that he could also smell nothing but female blood coming from him.

Seeing his disgusted look Sheng Tai frowned and said, "What?" He revealed his Mana and flaunted it making Fei Lei want to puke, a thick aura that seemed superficial and filled with malice poured out of Sheng Tai.

For some reason no one else seemed to notice this, they merely acted impressed by his almost solid 4th level Sigil.

"My brother's Iron Blood Sigil is unbeatable, he can even fight on the front lines using this spell!" Sheng Lu bragged.

Fei Lei frowned and said, "I think I'm going to kill you two. How old were they, 10? 12 years old?"

The two brothers frowned and suddenly felt like their clan's secret had been leaked, the Sheng clan once inherited a Necromancer's legacy and rose to prominence almost overnight, and because of their family's ancestor being rumored to be a Prime Magus, no one questioned how they got that powerful so quickly.

The spell allowed one to absorb the vitality and Mana from the blood of their targets, the downside was that male practitioners could only absorb from females, and females could only absorb from men. The Level 1 through 9 Devil Succubus Spell, the higher level version cast, the greater amount of Mana the user could harvest from their victims.

Sheng Lu was about to say something when his brother slapped him and grabbed him by the collar of his robe, he then stared at Fei Lei and said, "I don't know what you're referring to, but if you're trying to slander my family you should think twice!"

Dragging off his brother he shot Fei Lei one last ferocious look as Fei Lei shook his head and said, "I only speak the truth, sure I omit things from time to time, but I don't think I've ever really lied."

Hina smiled as she gave Fei Lei a thumbs up, as the crowd slowly dispersed Yan Mei asked, "What did you mean by how old they were?"

Fei Lei frowned and explained what he smelled, Hina frowned and said, "There have been rumors about that family having problems with their citizens disappearing, mostly slaves."

Fei Lei's knuckles cracked, "How powerful is the Sheng clan?"

"Teacher would have to go there himself to destroy it, not many people know this, but their family ancestor is Prime Magus, and their current Clan Leader is and Arch Wizard. Although, if first brother, second brother, and thrid sister worked together, they could probably wipe them off the map." Hina answered.

Fei Lei smiled, "I really want to meet my older brothers and sisters."

Yan Mei was shocked to hear what Hina said, the number of Prim Magus' that a family had was the upmost important factor in deciding the Tier of noble families, for instance, the Huǒ clan has 7 Elders that are Prime Magus Mages.

If you were to put them on a score board then Prime Magus Mages would be worth 1500 points, a Grand Warlocks is worth a 1500, Arch Wizards are 1000, Warlocks are 500, Wizards are worth 250, Sorcerers are worth 100 Erudites are 50 Magi are 10, and Adepts are worth 1 all these together make them tier 7 family out of 9 tiers. In order to become a Noble family you would have to have at least 500 Points, if you want to become a Tier 2 Noble family you'd need a 1000.

2,000 for Tier 3

3,000 for Tier 4

5,000 for Tier 5

7,000 for Tier 6

9,000 for Tier 7

12,000 for Tier 8

15,000 for Tier 9

Contribution Points are also added to this score, so someone with lesser quantities of Mages could rise through the ranks without being discriminated against.

If Yan Mei's family had even one more Prime Magus join their ranks, they would rank up, receive more land, and be rewarded additional training resources from the current Mana King.

If a clan like the Sheng has hidden the fact they have a Prime Magus, then they may secretly have more. "I have to tell grandpa about this!" Yan Mei thought to herself, thinking of the terrible things her family told her about corrupt noble clans.
