Chapter 79: Telling them with the biggest smile of the day

“Yes, that’s right! You’re our dear big brother. You’re so amazing!”

“Yes, yes. I’m so proud of you, my son.”

Ahh, I still feel sick when I’m around these guys.

The duel will continue unless both sides want to end it, and of course, there is no point in running away, so they are trying to appease my anger by praising me.

It makes me want to vomit knowing that I was bullied by this family all these years due to some cheap, trashy pride of mine.

“Hey, hey! I give up! I told you we lost! End this duel now! I’ve seen enough of your awesomeness, big brother!”

“Yes, yes! And what’s the fun in hurting an unarmed person? You’re not the kind of person who would do such a thing, right?”

“Indeed! And they are your little brother and sister! Please don’t do anything to them!”

It’s really quite grating…

“I’m not a good person, you know? I’m not a saint or anything. So I get angry when people make fun of me, and I resent it when they try to harm me.”

“That’s not true! It is really amazing of you to be able to handle two opposing kinds of magic, fire and water!”

“You also used recovery magic, so there are three kinds of magic! Not many court magicians have three kinds of magic: fire, water, and light!”

“You’re my son, the son of the Kvist family! I’m very proud of you.”

I really wanted to beat them to a pulp, but when I saw them clinging to me, I didn’t really care.

Just as the opposite of love is apathy, we can see that the opposite of hatred is also apathy.

I guess the opposite of being interested is apathy too.

In short, these guys are no better than stones on the side of the road for me.

“Hey, if I had asked you guys to stop without resisting today, would you have done it?”

“O-of course…”

“The moment you lie to me, I’ll kill you, twerp. You ought to be responsible for what you say. You hear that?”

“Of course… I didn’t stop…”

“Isn’t it? You wouldn’t have stopped, would you? So what are you going to do now?”

“Hih—?”

“I’m asking what the h**l are you going to do now? Can’t you hear me? Or have you already forgotten what you agreed to? The rules to end this duel.”

“Well, that’s a little…”

“We won’t ever make fun of you anymore. So please?”

“We’re a family, and they’re your younger brother and sister, so please forgive them?”

“I see, I see. I’m not that much of a devil myself.”

Thus I told them with my biggest smile of the day.

“You can be my plaything until I kill you here, or you can be my slave. I’ll let you choose while you still can.”
