Lu Lincheng exited the hospital again.

In the underground garage, the man turned on the engine and it roared. His hands held the steering wheel, but the car didn’t move.

He recalled the words of the gentle-faced doctor, “Mr. Lu, even though I don’t know your friend who has amnesia, I want to let you know that helping her recover her memory is just one aspect of rehabilitation. You can’t just rely on the patient, Mr. Lu. The patient has to take the initiative to recall your relationship. During this period, you should try to establish your relationship. Lu Lincheng’s hold on the steering wheel tightened, and he asked out of the blue, “Do you know what a 23-year-old lady likes the most?”

Zhou Yang thought he heard it wrong and asked, “What did you say?”

“Benevolence” was about to start filming, and the drama crew had officially announced it. Love mentor Liang Yan had no free time to give attention to her Weibo and direct messages asking for love advice because she was preparing to join the group. She was  nervous.

The opening ceremony of “Benevolence” was very lively, and people in the industry paid attention to it. Firecrackers exploded in the scene while Liang Yan held three incense in her hand to pray. The show's creators also prayed and bowed to the heavens for good ratings and viewership.

After everyone finished praying to the heavens, they put the incense sticks into the incense burner.

Tong Lei and Lu Dan, a man and woman, were paired. They prayed first, then Liang Yan followed them with her male partner in the drama — Zhong Ze. In the play, Zhong Ze was a rich man who chased after the intern doctor, Liang Yan. Most of the emotional scenes in the drama were played by them.

Liang Yan put the incense sticks in the burner while she turned to look at Zhong Zhe beside her.

For a moment, she remained frozen. They were very similar, a look alike.

Some artists debuted in the industry because of their similarity, to some extent, to their already famous predecessors. They would be given the labels of “small xxx.” It did have advantages but it also had its disadvantages. Because of the similarity, the fans of the already established star — the senior — may dislike the “small xxx.” This label was easy to stick but difficult to tear, and it wouldn’t be easy to form your own style.

Liang Yan had heard people saying that Zhong Zhe looked like Lu Lincheng, so he was scouted by a talent scout in the street. He debuted under the name of “Little Lu Lincheng.” It had been two years since he started working in the industry, and all his works didn’t explode, and people still recognized him as “Little Lu Lincheng.”

Zhong Ze noticed that Liang Yan was staring at him, so he nodded and greeted her, “Hello, sister Yan.”

Liang Yan’s first scene in the drama was an opposing scene with Zhong Ze.

In the drama, Zhong Ze played the role of a rich second-generation heir. To avoid a blind date arranged by his mother, the rich man accidentally fell into the water. At the same time, the intern doctor — played by Liang Yan — passed by the area.

The rich man spat mouthfuls of water, and asked the intern how much money she wanted, but the young intern doctor didn’t pay him any heed, checked on her watch and rushed away to work. The second-generation heir was used to gold-digging women fawning over him, but a woman that ignored his handsome appearance and his money appeared.

Immediately, she caught his interest. He looked for her, and found out that she worked as an intern doctor in the city hospital. A chase ensued. At first, he courted the intern doctor just for fun and to prove his charm, but she always refused him with an indifferent face.

He persevered and chased her relentlessly, as a result, he fell in love with the intern doctor played by Liang Yan. Every day, he came to pick her up to and from work, asking for praises and simple touches.

Finally, he became a changed man. He was ready to climb mountains of knives, cross a sea of fire, and touch the hot oil to turn over a new leaf with his bare hands. The wolf-dog became a milk dog boyfriend power to the max, and finally caught the reserved and old-fashioned intern doctor.

“Benevolence” was shot in sequence. In the first scene, Liang Yan had to go into the water and save the second male lead, Zhong Ze, before she could have a face-off with the film queen.

On the set, Liang Yan stared at the artificial lake in the park. She gulped as she stared at the clear, turquoise water.

With a script in his arms, Zhong Ze came over and asked, “Sister Yan, do you know how to swim?”

Liang Yan was already used to Zhong Ze calling her “sister Yan”. She finally understood why Zhong Ze’s debut under Lu Lincheng’s name for two years didn’t garner fame for him and his works didn’t splash.

She had met the other group members, and it didn’t take long for them to call each other “brother” and “sister”. It felt even closer than family members.

Liang Yan lifted her eyelids and looked at him. “No, how about you?”

Zhong Ze grinned. “I used to be a part of the school swimming team.”

In film and television dramas, there were many scenes associated with water. But some actors didn’t know how to swim, and it was unrealistic to learn swimming for a temporary scene. The water play would be dangerous and they had to take the scene into account, so as a solution, they would hang the actor in a wire. Half of the body would be submerged into the water while acting.

Liang Yan put on the props with the help of the props division. Although she had prepared for this shot beforehand, and even psychologically armored herself, she was still scared as they finally acted the scene.

She turned to Jiang Mu with a horrified face and asked, “What should I do?”

Jiang Mu cheered for her. “You can  do it!”
